Dr. Jon attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for his undergraduate education and graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 2002. He is a member of the South Dakota Dental Association and the American Dental Association and serves on the SD Dental Foundation Board and the SD Political Action Committee.
Dr. Jon enjoys making patients feel at ease and loves restoring beautiful smiles. When not in the office Jon is golfing, hunting and exploring the beauty of the Black Hills with Dr. Tara and their three girls, Libby, Cecily and Astrid.
Dr. Tara attended college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 2001. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Dakota Dental Association, and the South Dakota State Board of Dentistry. In addition, she is on the steering committee for CRDTS (Central Regional Dental Testing Service). Practicing in Rapid City since 2002, Tara and Jon founded Pine Peaks in 2004.
Dr. Tara practices comprehensive family dentistry with a heavy emphasis on conservative restorative procedures. She works to provide excellent dentistry in an environment where each patient has a complete understanding of his or her needs and treatment options. Dr. Tara was born at Ellsworth Air Force Base and grew up in Rapid City. She loves living in the Hills and being mom to her three daughters (and three dogs).
With a Masters Degree in Hospital Administration, our Office Manager is highly qualified to navigate our busy practice. His personality, efficiency, and broad knowledge are considerable assets to our practice. He is also Dr. Taras brother. Bill is married and has three step-daughters, four dogs, two miniature donkeys, and some peacocks. He is our Dr. Doolittle!
Katie has been with us since 2011 and completed Dental Hygiene School at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. Katie is an excellent dental hygienist who is both exceptionally thorough and exceedingly gentle. She is married and has one son and one daughter that her keep her very busy. She likes sportsespecially Husker football!
Rhonda has been with Schaack Family Dentistry for a number of years, and has been a dental assistant for 20+ years. Her great smile, positive attitude, and years of experience make her a strong anchor for our team. Rhonda is married to Rob, has two grown sons, and a labradoodle, Jasmine. She is our go-to advisor for what's good to watch on TV and at the movies!
Libby is a graduate from the University of South Dakota School of Dental Hygiene and is a transplant from Kimball, SD. Her hygiene skills speak for themselves, while her genuine smile and positive attitude are priceless assets to the office. Libby is a 'dog mom' to her pup, Hugh. She loves to explore the Black Hills, hike, and do home projects.
Amber is a dental assistant that's done it all! She started her assisting career in orthodontics, took a brief break at our front desk, and then landed in the back again---chairside. She is eager to learn, always willing to help, and her smile is contagious! Amber has one son and a very spoiled Frenchie named Gucci.
