Each person I care for is important to me. Every day I interact with people from different backgrounds with their own experiences and stories to tell. This reminds me of both the wonderful uniqueness of each of us and the common ground that we share.
Dr. Scaffidi earned his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 1991 before returning to school to pursue a Doctorate of Dental Surgery for the Louisiana State University Dental School. He then continued his studies at the LSU Dental School Orthodontic and Dentofacial Orthopedic specialty program.
Oral healthcare, especially orthodontics, requires a firm commitment to the pursuit of continuing education. There are constant developments in treatment methodologies as well as diagnostic and treatment technologies, which all lead to shorter treatment times and better results.
Every year he participates in continuing education courses at the local, regional, and national levels. Hes also a member of the Bassett Study Club, a network of 20+ local dentists and oral healthcare specialists. They meet every month to review case studies and share knowledge.
A New Orleans native, Dr. Scaffidi shares his life with his wife Lyn and their three children: Elizabeth, Matthew, and Caroline. Being with his family is always his first choice when not in the office, but he also enjoys spending time outdoors. He especially enjoys going fishing or duck hunting.
Gone are the days of painful headgear, clunky bands on every tooth, and overly tight stainless steel wires. Today's orthodontic treatment is much more comfortable than it used to be. This is because of shape-memory NiTi wires.

Extremely disappointed after treatment. I received treatment for my braces in 2019 and got my braces off in 2020. The treatment was fine other than the removal process. I got them removed in 2020 and was given a retainer. I was told i was eligible for receive a free replacement due to wear and tear. I called today to see about getting my replacement. I was then told that you can only get a replacement after a year of removal. It was never stated in my paperwork and I was never told there was a time frame. I spoke with someone at the front desk and was told sorry they didn't inform you of that nothing we can do, all you can do is pay the $350 for a replacement retainer. Not to mention I also got the zoom whitening done here as well and it does not last I would not recommend. I'm really sadden by this encounter.

Great Experience at Dr Scaffidi Orthodontist!!!! OMG the staff are so friendly and personable!! Understanding when something comes up and you are a few minutes late or have to reschedule. After 3 years I just got my braces off happy but I'm gonna miss them! !!

Scaffidi orthodontics should be shut down. I went to Scaffidi for a Invisalign retainer. He did not complete the services. He put the permanent retainer on before Invisalign was completed to cause damage on teeth (8,9) I have complaints filed. I do not recommend scaffidi orthodontics to anyone.

Dr. Scaffidi and staff are wonderful to talk to and make the visit very comfortable and calming. Our son was nervous about having braces out on but they talked him through the whole process and explained everything. The chairs are at least 6 feet apart, the staff sanitizes everything, and they all wear masks too. So f you are concerned about Covid, that should relieve your worries. They have two locations, one in Kenner off of West Esplanade, another in Lakeview off Harrison Ave.

I came to Dr. Scaffidi's office 4 years ago after visiting a few clinics looking for a good orthodontist for my twin sister to start her treatment. Since I had just moved my from Miami, I needed a new doctor as well as I was already 1 1/2 years into my orthodontic treatment. I immediately liked the aura of the office. He and his staff are so nice and truly make your experience a pleasant one from beginning to end. I finished my treatment with them in January 2018 and had to come back recently due to my bonded retainer popping. They took me in ASAP with no problem and the process itself was not long at all. I highly recommend Dr. Scaffidi and his staff, I think they're the best I've encountered. They truly know how to take care of you and you can tell they care very much about their patients. Everyone that comes in leaves with a beautiful smile in the end. Thank you guys for your hard work!!!

Had my braces the first time with Dr. Scaffidi and his team and the results were perfect. After not wearing my retainer for years, here I am again for a second (and last!) round of braces. Dr. Scaffidi is very friendly and his team are fun and efficient. They're great!

I love how my teeth are turning out! Dr.Scaffidi and his staff do an amazing job at creating a safe and fun environment. They are very nice and professional. We are never waiting for longer than two minutes to be called back upon arriving for my appointment. I highly recommend Dr.Scaffidi for your orthodontic needs!!!

Everyone there is extremely nice and will take care of you ASAP. There's not a long wait and they are very careful to ensure that you, your child, etc. get the best/most comfortable experience. My family and I love Dr. Scaffidi! We would definitely recommend his office to anyone looking for an orthodontist.
