After practicing dentistry for more than 40 years, I have decided to announce my retirement. It has been my pleasure to take care of your dental needs. After a careful search, I have found the right dentist to take over my practice. Dr. Krutiben Patel is a caring, compassionate professional who shares my commitment to exemplary dentistry. Starting in June, she will provide a wide range of dental services in the same friendly and professional environment to which you are accustomed, and I also will continue to work part time in the practice. Our same wonderful staff will be there to assist you in any way they can.
Dr. Patel received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the Dharmsinh Desai University in Nadiad, India. She then continued on to study at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, where she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. She was awarded membership in a National Dental Honor Society (OKU) based on her high professional standards and academic achievement while at the University of Alabama. Dr. Patel comes to us with extensive experience working as a general dentist.
Aside from dentistry, Dr. Patel enjoys spending her free time with family, and exercising her creative side by acrylic painting. In addition, one of her all-time favorite things to do is traveling and cruising.

Sharon received her certification from Eli Whitney Technical School in 1983 where she was part of the Honor Society of Chi Delta Alpha and started as a dental assistant. After working in a private practice as a dental assistant for several years she decided to pursue a career as a dental hygienist.
She attended The Fones School of Dental Hygiene at the University of Bridgeport and received a BS degree in dental hygiene Magna Cum Laude. Sharon furthered her education at the Fones School of Hygiene graduating Summa Cum Laude with her masters in Dental Hygiene in 2014.
Since 2004 she has been involved with the American Dental Hygiene Association, the Connecticut Dental Hygiene Association, and the New Haven Dental Hygiene Association. She has served as a delegate and trustee and is currently the treasurer for the New Haven component.
Sharon is very passionate about volunteering her time with the Connecticut Mission of Mercy, CT CHIP (child identification), Give Kids a Smile, Every Smile Counts, and the New Haven Dental Hygienists Associations Battered Women clinics. She is also very involved in the Branford community. She is currently president of the Branford Community Garden and is helping the Branford Food Pantry set up a garden on their property.

Dr. Patel is by orders of magnitude the best dentist I have ever seen. She is extremely good at her work, gental, and fast. Super fast. The rest of the staff is also very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend them.

Dr. Patel is a great dentist she gave me a cleaning that made my mouth feel clean and my teeth smooth. I also am happy with advise on filling my casing on one of my gap tooth.

I would like to thank Dr Patel for coming in early on a Saturday morning to fix my front tooth that chipped Friday morning. Now I can smile at my friend's wedding next weekend! Dr Sliva was the only dentist I was not nervous with. So happy he found someone to continue the professional and caring dental care I was accustomed to!

I'm a veteran but not covered by the VA. I broke a tooth and called everywhere, the only ones who helped was Saybrook dental. Most places I called couldn't even see me until August but I'll be on my 2nd appointment with them in less than a week. The setting there is so calming, I sometimes have problems with people leaning over me, not here though. So gentle and understanding.

I have had wonderful experiences at Saybrook Family Dental! Yesterday,Dr.Patel cleaned my teeth! I have never had a cleaning like that! She patiently took the time to remove plaque build up! I honestly have never had a cleaning like this before! My teeth feel really clean for the first time!

We have been coming to Saybrook Family Dental Care for years. We have always been very happy with their level of care and the office staff is friendly and helpful. We have three kids, ages 3-9 and everyone is patient and kind with them.
