Stephanie Joy Sweeney, DMD, is thrilled to be back in her home state of Georgia and to bring her advanced training to her patients at Savannah Dental. At the practice in Savannah, Georgia, Dr. Sweeney offers a full range of dental services to her patients. This includes, but is not limited to, cosmetic dentistry, crowns, bridges, tooth-colored fillings, implant restoration, root canals, and braces. She is a Gold Plus Invisalign provider and a Digital Smile Design-trained dentist.
Dr. Sweeney graduated from the University of Georgias Honors College and received her dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia (now Georgia Regents University). Dr. Sweeney practiced in Savannah until 2011 when she had the opportunity to be a part of an advanced technology dental office in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Her interests outside of dentistry include being a part of the Historic Savannah Foundation, the Jewish Educational Alliance, Young Jewish Savannah, and participating in many philanthropic charity events and fundraisers. Dr. Sweeney also enjoys spending time with her friends and family, kiteboarding, surfing, sailing, traveling and attending numerous continuing education courses.
At Savannah Dental, the goal of our caring team is to provide comprehensive oral health care and cosmetic dentistry services to people of all ages living in and around Savannah, Georgia, and throughout Chatham County.
Our practice is a technologically advanced, state-of-the-art facility with world-class general dentists and an internationally renowned implantologist. These factors facilitate exceptional continuity of care, ensuring each individual receives the treatment they need.
Our team works to provide a warm, welcoming, and eco-friendly experience. Were mindful of our environmental impact and try to inspire and improve the community. Were able to do this, thanks in part, to advanced tools, including the iTero Element 5D scanner, digital panoramic X-rays, and an on-site digital cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner.
Our patients can access a wide variety of oral health services, including dental exams, treatment of TMJ with Botox, root canals, and sedation dentistry. In addition, our team offers dental implants, including single tooth implants and All-on-4 implants, cosmetic dentistry like veneers, teeth whitening with the Philips Zoom! system, and crowns and bridges.
Our comforting team provides both family dentistry and pediatric dentistry services for children and teenagers, including orthodontic treatment with Invisalign and dental sealants. We also carry Philips Sonicare toothbrushes and silk (non-plastic) dental floss.

Today was my first time visiting Savannah dental. When I walked in I was told that I was going to be paying almost $200 for my appointment as my insurance would not cover x-rays. I have not had x-rays in over a year and being an insurance specialist and office manager at a dental office for over seven years, I knew better. They had me sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes trying to figure out my insurance, when they should have had this information before my appointment. After 30 minutes, the receptionist proceeded to tell me I'll still have a pretty large out of pocket cost. It's really frustrating to take off an hour and a half of my workday to come into an office that's unprepared. It's safe to say I left without getting anything done. My fiance was in last week and he told me they told him the same thing and he had to push them to get it together. We will be looking for another dentist. What a waste of time!

Savannah Dental worked in my 10 year old son for a tooth extraction today. We just left and I am extremely thankful for their ability to work us in last minute and for the care and grace shown. We were immediately greeted, offered beverages, given swag (!) and made to feel at ease and welcome. The office was very clean and tastefully decorated. The dental assistant, Melissa, was amazing. She spoke with my son and answered all his questions. Dr. Smith was quick to assess the situation and act. Very few children (or people) like the dentist office, so imagine being a nervous child. When my son had a moment of anxiety, the staff was incredible, patient, and kind. Another dental assistant (I regret not remembering her name) sat next to my son, talked with him, and calmly reassured him to get him through it. We will absolutely be returning.

When I made my appointment they told me I was in network. Had my appointment, they told me it was all covered I owed nothing. Then I get a bill for $75 because they are not in network. They knew it at the time they made my appointment. I had to pay the $75 or it was going to collections.

Great service, extremely nice staff, and my first ever teeth cleaning that was both very professional and I haven't suffered from! Cleaning is usually a nightmare for me, and it was just great!

Carla, my hygienist, was great. My teeth were well cleaned, and she was nice. Dr. Dickenson was an arrogant creep. Rough, upselling, overcharging nightmare. Get your new dentist in place, and I may try again. I miss Dr. Paul.

DR Paul is gone and while everyone was nice they gave me a shopping list of work that needed to be done and are way to expensive, I always had great teeth and minimal work that ever needed to be done. I think there trying to pay for the practice they took over. Find a new dentist very disappointed, they suggested over $6000.00 of work after insurance I owe them more than $4000.00 I miss Dr Paul already!

I've always been very apprehensive about going to the dentist after I had an hygienist sneeze while working on me and jab my very severely in my gums. I told the doctor and the staff about that incident. I was reassured by Desi and Melissa that they would take excellent care of me. After I woke up from my procedure I barely felt anything and I was helped into my waiting transportation. I was so relieved that elated. I had to go back and thank the staff. I will always recommend the staff to anyone that needs work done. Once again thank you Melissa and Desi. I'll see you guys soon.

I had called every dentist in town trying to get my 8 year old seen in a timely manner without success. My son had some severe tooth pain and needed help ASAP. While they could only help with the diagnostic aspect of things, they made sure to help get us to a specialist and some medicine to tide us over for time being. Sierra even assisted in trying to help find a pediatric dentist who took our insurance and could get him in quickly. She is worth her weight in gold as an employee! Dr. Paul and his staff are attentive and go above and beyond to show they genuinely care. Thank you!

Dr Paul is NO LONGER THERE, they did not tell me he had sold the practice and I didn't know until half way through appointment. I do research before I go to a new doctor and was not given the opportunity. The most painful hygienist I have ever had! Dr. Sweeney seems nice but I won't be going back!
