Personal Philosophy:I treat all patients, children and adults, the same way I would treat members of my own family. I strive for the best esthetic and functional result possible while maintaining an individual approach to treating each patient. I am dedicated to maintaining current knowledge and practice of the latest developments in orthodontics.

Orthodontic appliances can be made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to a corrected position. This is a great time to wear braces! Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can choose brackets that are clear or metallic color. You can choose the color of the ties that hold the wire in brackets. Wires are also less noticeable than they used to be and the latest materials move teeth faster with less discomfort to patients.

Treatment time typically ranges from one to three years, depending on the growth of the patient's mouth and face and the severity of the problem. Patients grow at different rates and will respond variously to orthodontic treatment, so the time to case completion may differ from the original estimate. The patient's diligent use of any prescribed rubber bands or headgear is an important factor in achieving the most efficient treatment. Interceptive, or early treatment procedures, may take as few as six months.

It's best for the orthodontist to see children by age 7 to advise if orthodontic treatment is required and it is the best time for that patient to be treated. The first permanent molars and incisors have usually come in by that time and crossbites, crowding, and other problems can be evaluated. When treatment is begun early, the orthodontist can guide the growth of the jaw and guide incoming permanent teeth. Early treatment can also regulate the width of the upper and lower dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth, avoid the need for extractions, reduce likelihood of impacted permanent teeth, correct thumb-sucking, and eliminate abnormal swallowing or speech problems. In other words, early treatment can simplify later treatment.

Orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age and adults especially appreciate the benefits of a beautiful smile. One of every five patients in treatment is over 21. Adults may have experienced some breakdown or loss of their teeth and bone that supports the teeth and may require periodontal treatment before, during, and/or after treatment. Bone loss can also limit the amount and direction of tooth movement that is advisable.

The office staff have been pleasant and helpful with scheduling appointments. Dr. Oliver is calm and helped ease my girls nerves with evaluation and exams. So grateful we were referred to this office!

I experienced the most God awful customer service from whoever verifies benefits for this practice. As an insurance agent I often refer members to dentist that accept the insurance carrier that I represent. So in an effort to assist a member who wanted to come here (and spend their hard earned money) this deplorable and ill mannered lady (By the name of JANET) was beyond rude and discourteous to myself and the member. In addition to that, this provider has a "CONTRACT" with my carrier. A contract that she voluntarily agreed to be in and accept our members at a discounted rate. Instead...... myself and the member were told that the Dr would not honor the CONTRACTED rate. And then with a very nasty attitude and horrible disposition we also told that "She says that she probably won't be accepting this insurance for much longer anyways!" And then hung up on everyone in the conference call when we suggested to the member that she may want to seek out another provider. If I could give this experience a negative star, i would without hesitation. Attend this practice at your own risk. Their customer service is sub par to say the least! So I would never allow them near my mouth! Personally, I would never take my money to a place that treats it clients like subservient peasants. The whole

So happy with this practice and only wish I'd known about her with my first two kids. I'd chosen our first orthodontist using proximity to my house as a priority (by Plaza) which I now realize isn't the best parenting, but I can be kind of lazy. And especially now that I know it's less than a ten minute drive to her office in a great location right off of 75th and Mission. Easy parking right up to the door where hers is the first office by the entrance on the ground floor of the office building. (I mentioned I'm kind of lazy, right?) It's in a very bright and cheery space too which I appreciate. Dr. Oliver and staff are really good at creating a plan where your child/teen is made to feel a sense of accountability for their results, but it's done so subtly they readily accept it. Not an easy feat with kids at this age. Also many payment plans offered and we also snagged a discount by booking appts during school hours which we do during study halls or lunch so we're able to get in pretty quickly AND get a discount! Dr Oliver one time even arranged to have her assistant Jan meet us at the office with an orthodontic emergency when she was out of town which we really appreciated. (I think a bracket had come off while some contraband taffy was enjoyed) We've completed one plan with our 16 year old who is now in retainer mode and he's had to turn down multiple tv and magazine ad offers for modeling bc his smile is so dang gorgeous. He's decided to focus on his studies instead planning a career in either neurosurgery or orthodontics. Or the NFL and if that ends up being the case Dr. Oliver also offers multiple options in protective orthodontic gear for athletes to keep her hard work and your child's beautiful bicuspids and buddies safe.

I love Dr. Oliver. She will be the first to tell you that she loves her job! She delights in seeing results! It shows in the way she treats her patients and the parents of her patients. She is a mother of four so she has seen it all, she is down to earth, patient and a great communicator. She did a great job on my teeth and now my daughter has braces. I know the results will be wonderful - I can already tell. The kids love her and the parents love her. She has taken great care of my family.

We highly recommend Dr Oliver and her staff. She is so great with kids of all ages and stages of care. Our oldest has a perfect smile now, and our younger two are in different stages of the process. I can't imagine trusting anyone else with this.
