Interest-free financing payable over many months is provided through our office, and we partner with CareCredit. Our team will assist you in determining the best option for you. We are also highly experienced in determining the best way to utilize your HSA or MSA funds.
During more than 30 years as a specialist, Dr. Deborah Sappington is fortunate to have worked in the offices of seven different orthodontists while her husband moved to different universities advancing his career. This wide-ranging experience allows her to be very selective among various techniques and to only recommend the most sound and conservative treatment options.
A graduate of Bryn Mawr College with honors in Biology, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry. Graduating with highest honors as the top female graduate, she was inducted into the elite Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. She held academic and clinical positions at Sinai Hospital of Detroit, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine before pursuing orthodontic training at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She received herSpecialty Certificate in Orthodontics in 1987. She was the only member of her graduating class to also earn the Master of Science degree in Orthodontics.
Dr. Sappington taught orthodontic graduate residents at the University of Florida, where she was also a member of the Craniofacial Deformities team. She is a published author with an article in the dental specialty journal, Special Care in Dentistry.
Dr. Sappington is married to Dr. David Sappington, an Eminent Scholar at the University of Florida and the Director of the University's Public Policy Research Center. Their son Alexander, a graduate of Buchholz High School, was the 2011 State of Florida Siemens Award winner for advanced placement in math and science. He graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University in 2015, where he was the top graduating Economics major and a Rhodes Scholar finalist. He received his MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business in 2020, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, graduating in the top 3% of the class. He recently married Diane, a cum laude 2015 graduate of Princeton who received her Columbia Law School degree in 2018. She recently completed a two-year clerkship with Judge Stanton of the southern district of Manhattan and is now working for Davis Polk Law Firm in New York City.

Absolutely love this place! I came here 5 years ago for braces. Made my teeth BEAUTIFUL. Came back today years later to get my retainer replaced. In and out within minutes. I always have and will love the staff. Great place. Highly recommend :))

Dr. Sappington and the clinic staff are always super nice and friendly. She is very hands on throughout the process and makes it as simple as can be. The extended hours are great for accommodating my work hours. I rarely have to wait to be seen and if so, never more than a couple minutes.

The experience was okay. In the beginning, they had forgotten to file with my insurance for 6 months. It was not until I inquired if they had issues with my Insurance that they realized it has not been filed. At times I wondered what was going on. One month I went to have my wires adjusted, I mentioned to Sappington what I was told to do for the month and she made a comment about something she added to her notes at home. That note was not something I was instructed to do for that previous month. It left me wondering whether things are added to the file without our consent or knowledge. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Dr. Sappington and her terrific crew, Elizabeth and Anna, are competent, considerate, and complete. They converted my messy mouth into a nice smile. Though in my 60s my teeth were slow to cooperate, they stuck with the job until it was done, at no additional cost. Would recommend Sappington Orthodontics to anyone, at any age.

Dr.Sappington is such a sweet person an I can't say enough sweet things about Elizabeth she is also amazing one of the most kinder hearted people I've come in contact with my daughter is shy an just her taking time out to help with her day made such an impact on us!This is one of the best offices I've been too! So flexible with our schedule and payments when needed I would recommend anyone who is looking for a nice orthodontist for yourself and children too visit!

They are NOT flexible with payment and should be. All paperwork has to be done in person. The payments must be done in person which can be difficult with COVID. There is no check discount. There is a cash only discount which makes no sense. They stated that check bounce. They were not friendly and did not seem concerned. They seem to want their customers to have to go withdraw thousands of dollars to bring in as a check was not accepted. I do not understand why payment must be made in person and there is no flexibility with this. No other office in town does this. When I voiced concern, Dr. Sappington told me to take my son elsewhere which is exactly what I am doing. They are rude, not friendly, do not care about the hassle they put their patients through, and the waiting room is full because the poor scheduling. This makes no sense again when COVID infection is out there to make people have to come in for payments.

I couldn't ask for a better orthodontist than Dr. Sappington! I had visited 4 other offices before stumbling upon Dr. Sappington and I knew during consultation that she was the person I wanted to take care of my smile. Dr. Sappington is one of the sweetest and most kind people you will ever meet, she always greeted me with a smile, listened to my concerns, asked about what my smile goals were before and as we progressed during my braces journey, and informed me of every step at each appointment. She is highly knowledgeable and a true perfectionist, I honestly could not be happier with my happier with my smile. As you can see from my after and before pictures (the results now in 2021, the second from 2016 -- was in treatment from 2018 to 2020) Dr. Sappington has done a marvelous job and I would recommend her to anyone needing orthodontic work.
