Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

Awesome experience at this office. I hadn't been to a dentist since the beginning of the pandemic.... But this office made me feel welcome. Dr Rebecca is awesome.. Knowledgeable with kind hands. She took me through my treatment and explained things well on how to upkeep my teeth. I will be coming back and now I am excited to visit my dentist!

I can not say enough good things about this Dental office! From the kind and helpful staff up front to the girls in the back who are always helpful and go above and beyond, the amazing Dr. Ferguson who I trust and adore! Oh and you can't forget Dr. Dziura, no one does a better root canal! Thanks to all of them I finally have a smile I'm proud of but more importantly a mouth that doesn't always hurt! They are great with kids! All of mine love them! We have been going here for several years now, as a military family who has had some bad experiences with dentists, we are so grateful to have found such a wonderful office. When I say I trust them with my whole family and would recommend them to anyone who needs a dentist, I mean it!

**SCAM ALERT** I've been going to Santee smiles for a couple years now. I do like the doctor's here, doctor Ortega especially but they claim to be a HIPPA organization(meaning they will not share you medical information). However with their new My Chart system if you agree to the terms and conditions you are then agreeing to them sharing all of your information. When I said I did not want them to share my information and I do not agree to the conditions, they dropped me as a client. If you're concerned about your privacy do not go to this organization. They trick you by saying they are HIPPA, then hope you don't read the terms in MyChart stating that they WILL share your information. I wish Dr Ortega would get her own practice, it's unfortunate I cannot go here anymore cause I want my records private.

Pricing is very complicated and hard to work with and feels very sketchy, so I consulted with my insurance and sure enough the prices they were given me were not the prices I should be paying. I Would highly recommend Any future Patience to do the due diligence. If you ask to speak to a supervisor they don't have one on duty. The receptionist Jessica that I spoke to said she would give my wife a call back and (NEVER DID). So now I'm waiting for the manager Lena that should be on duty to call me back. I will be looking for another dentist today! . ....After calling back the manager with the number provided on the reply down below I experience even more unprofessionalism. I was told that they do not provide physical copies of your medical records unless it's on a piece of printer paper. I was told it takes 2 days all the way up to 2 weeks to get confirmation on pricing. if it takes longer than two weeks they'll push your appointment to a further date. After all this inconvenience I feel I made the correct choice to seek a true professional.

I am very happy with all the services , staff and Dr. Ferguson. It has been many years since I had enough courage to go back to the dentist. I was honest with Dr. Ferguson and she made me feel safe and secure. Herself and her team were easy to talk with with and made me feel very comfortable. I didn't feel like they were judging me or trying to do work that was not needed. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I've been to a handful of dentists and this location has been my favorite. The staff are really nice and the hygienist (Jeressa) was awesome. She was very kind and thorough. She made sure to check on me throughout the entire cleaning as I had mentioned to her that I have some residual fear/anxiety of dentists from when I was a child. She was very sweet and understanding and this made me feel much more at ease during my visit. Would definitely recommend this office and if you can, ask for Jeressa to be your hygienist - you won't regret it!

First I want to say Jeressa (dental hygienist) is absolutely amazing. She is so kind and always walks me through everything with empathy and eases my fears and pain she is the main reason I kept coming back. When it came to the other half of dental work, my experience when I first started was a little rough due to miscommunication. Kelly saw I was struggling with this and was unhappy and went out of her way to make sure it didn't happen again. Since we have all gotten on the same page everything has been smooth sailing. Kelly even remembers details about me and asks how my trips went and showed she really does listen and care. Dr Ortega has also be patient with me as well throughout the process and adjusted to me communication needs. I also try to eat now before I go so I am not hangry when I go in...

Worst place to get any dental work done. I have insurance and yet I paid a very high amount of money for a cleaning. And I keep getting an charges in the mail when I've made all my payments.

Came in for a cleaning and received phenomenal service. My Dental hygienist Jeressa was amazing. She cared for my teeth and didn't rush me out of the office like my previous cleans in other offices. Jeressa took the time to properly examine, clean, and polish my teeth. Will recommend my family and friends here.

I have moved around a bit and never posted a review for a dentist but Dr. Rebecca Ortega has been my favorite dentist by far! She is extremely professional yet caring and has a very calm and confident presence about her. I always look forward to my visits with her and leave the office happy. Most recently, she replaced a crown that was done 4 years ago from a different dentist in another state. I had been very unhappy with it over the last year because it started to look gray. I really didn't want to go through the process of having it redone, but I'll be moving again and knew if there was anyone I would trust to redo my crown, it was Dr. Ortega. I'm so glad I moved forward with replacing it because it looks amazing and I can't thank her enough! As for the office itself - it's clean, professional, great customer service, wonderful staff, friendly environment!

We've been going to Santee smiles dentistry for my 2 kids for the past 8 years. We consistently get exceptional service. The staff is professional and friendly. They make us feel cared for. Some of these amazing staff include: Liz, Ana, Lina, Jay. My kids completely trust their doctors who are Dr. B, Dr. Allred and Dr. J. We are Very happy with this dental group. I set up an appointment for a cleaning as a new patient for myself and my husband. After seeing all of these reviews, I called to confirm that we were in fact coming in for a cleaning. I was told that we were actually coming in for an exam and the dentist would "diagnose" us with what we needed. I said I booked and wanted a routine cleaning. I got a runaround about how the dentist would see what I needed, which could include a more expensive 'deep' cleaning. I asked if I could elect to have just a normal routine cleaning and was told no! They pretty much confirmed what all these reviews say - they upsell you. They lost two patients before we even step foot in the door due to these terrible practices. I would not recommend this dentist.

Male Receptionist extremely rude. Poor customer service. Walked out before seeing dentist. Received mediocre care from staff and hygienists in past now not even interested. Dr Ferguson on other hand is great. Sorry she is stuck will poor staff.

I had a terrible experience at this office. They refused to do a routine cleaning of my teeth; said I had a gum infection, which was not true; did not return 3 phone calls; and provided crowns not covered by insurance instead of covered crowns, and did not advise me ahead of time of any covered options.

Really great dental care from Dr. Ferguson. Most of the staff is great but the front office is so incompetent and rude (calling to confirm benefits is PART OF YOUR JOB, make the time!!!!) that I'm going elsewhere.

Insurance changed for my kids and this was the office we chose. My 8 year old needed a check up. Office staff was nice but when the tech came to get him, they wanted him to go alone. Seriously? He's only 8 and we've never been there before. I cod understand if this was his dentist for years. She took him for xrays and then left him alone in a room, WAY in the back to come get me. Then the dentist came in, Dr. Ortega. She didn't seem upset to see me and it was nice to hear directly from the Dr about what was going and what to do next. Then I was made to leave again for the cleaning. They wanted us to come back if we had an issue getting a baby tooth out and although I liked the Doc, I knew they'd give me issues. I contacted Cardinal dental and their response to my request if I could go back with him was, "we have some adults that need support in the back." This was exactly what I needed to hear! Also, in case anyone seems to think it's a covid protocol for me not being in the room during the cleaning, I was with my 17yo a week later for her checkup, different insurance, during her cleaning. What dentist offices need to remember, kids are victimized often, so cut down the suspicion and allow parents to be in or near the room.
