Dr. Michael Tyler was born in San Diego, and with the exception of time away for school, has called East County, home, for his entire life. Dr. Tyler graduated from West Hills high school in Santee and after attending college in South Dakota and Long Beach, he returned to complete his biology degree at San Diego State University. Dr. Tyler attended dental school at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry (or UOP, though now called Arthur A Dugoni School of Dentistry). The education he received at UOP taught him the value of comprehensive patient care and a gentle caring touch. This approach helped Dr. Tyler mold a philosophy of patient care that pays attention to the needs of the patient as a whole, instead of just a set of teeth. Dr. Tyler continues his education on the advances in all fields of dentistry so he can address more needs and minimize the need of patients to be referred to other clinicians. Since graduation in 2004, Dr. Tyler has worked locally and has established a reliable network of specialist to address your dental needs should that be required.
Dr. Tyler and his wife Michelle were married October 2012 and reside here in El Cajon. They are the proud parents of a little girl, Mia, and her two younger twin brothers Brody and Tanner.When not at the office, Dr. Tyler enjoys the family time even if it means a lack of sleep (please excuse the bags under the eyes!)The family spends many weekends at their vacation spot in Palo Verde, CA where they enjoy the river during the warm months and hiking and ATVs in the mountain trails during the cold months.When a good photo opportunity presents Dr. Tyler enjoys capturing the moment and you can see some examples of those shots at the office.
Dr. Jared Gibbons recently left his long time home in Utah to reside in Sunny San Diego.He attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma.Dr. Gibbons loves his profession because of how rewarding it is to see a patient smile with pride after completing a treatment or overcoming their anxiety or simply being told they are cavity-free. His goal as a dental provider is to ensure a positive dental experience and achieve optimal oral health for all his patients.
Dr. Jared Gibbons was born and raised in Utah, and growing up in Utah made him develop a love for the outdoors.He is an avid skier, hiker, runner, and explorer.Aside from his energetic lifestyle, you can usually find him outside with his 5 year old Golden Shepherd named Ziggy.

Cher has been a member of our team since 2018. She strives in providing meticulous preventative dental care with a gentle touch. Cher finds that being a member of this entire team is enjoyable because of everyones corresponding efforts in obtaining one common goal, which is optimal oral health. Cher started her dental career in 2006 as a dental assistant and administrative member. She has been practicing as a hygienist since 2013. Outside of work, she loves to travel, cook, try new restaurants, and being a mom.
Chandler joined our team in 2018. She provides excellent care by focusing on the specific oral-hygiene needs of each individual patient she treats. She enjoys the positive, patient-friendly atmosphere Dr. Tyler and his team create here at Santee Dental Team. Chandler attended Amarillo College and earned her Associate in Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2012. She practiced for several years in Texas and Florida before making her home here in San Diego. Chandler loves spending her free time at the beach with her two dogs, watersports, snow skiing, visiting family, and sampling the unique, local restaurants offered by SoCal.
Tina has been with Santee Dental Team from day 1. Before Santee Dental Team was created, she worked for Dr. Sisson (which is now Santee Dental Team) and helped create a very easy and smooth transition for both the patients and new staff members at the office. As a Registered Dental Assistant she really enjoys being able to help each patient feel informed and comfortable throughout their visit. When not at work you can catch her at the gym working out and spending time with her family.
Michelle joined Santee Dental Team in 2018 working as a front office team member and has grown into the role of Practice Administrator. Michelle helps oversee the office operations and is committed to making the experience in our office a positive one for all of our patients and staff! Her goal is to continually learn and incorporate the knowledge of dentistry, insurance, and customer service to equip our team to best serve our patients and their families. In her spare time, Michelle loves spending time with her family and friends. She also loves cooking, watching the San Diego Gulls, and traveling.
Lara has been with the team since early 2018. She is dedicated to providing a positive dental experience for each and every patient. She is proud to work with Dr. Tyler, Dr. Gibbons and the rest of the staff at Granite Hills Dental Team because of their commitment to excellent personalized care. Lara takes pride in making the insurance and finance aspects of dentistry as easy as possible for our patients. She is a problem solver and will go above and beyond to ensure that our patients questions get answered. Lara is a graduate of the Central European University with a Masters Degree in History. In her spare time, Lara enjoys spending quality time with her cats and watching Harry Potter with her Husband.
Jess is a recent addition to the front office administration team, and offers a certain foreign flair to Granite Hills, having migrated across the seas from the land Down Under to San Diego in July, 2017. New to the world of dentistry, Jess has worked as an elementary school teacher in Australia for over a decade. She has welcomed the change in career with open arms and is eager to learn. Jess especially loves having a yarn (Australian for conversation) with our patients and can always be counted on to greet everyone with a ripper Aussie smile.

Dr Tyler is absolutely the best dentist on the planet. So nice, competent, and makes sure you are 100% pain free!

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I am so happy with the work I have had done here. Jess always greets me with a warm welcome and offers me a flower to bring home to my wife when I leave. I came in with severe pain due to a nasty cavity I had. In fact, I had an lengthy list of issues, including a worn out retainer that contained a false tooth to simulate a full smile. Dr. Tyler scheduled an appointment the following week and laid out a full plan to get my dental hygiene back on track. I received a root canal, a few deep cleanings by the wonderful hygienist, Chandler, and a new partial denture! I mean, wow! I really can't begin express enough how wonderful this Team is. Dr. Gibbons is a true artist and takes tremendous pride in his work. Tina, the dental assistant works extremely fast! Every time I see her, she is just working her tail off! I am so grateful for the level of confidence I have in my smile. It's all thanks to The Santee Dental Team! I HIGHLY recommend them for your family's dental needs!!

Brought my daughter here for the first time. Walked in and was warmly greeted. Felt safe knowing that the first thing they did was take our temperature and asked us to sanitize so that eased me knowing they are taking precautions. The place was clean and organized. Staff was wonderful. Service was amazing. Dr. Tyler was professional, very nice and honest about the treatments necessary. Would definitely recommend to others!

I'm not usually an "I love going to the dentist" type of person and I get a little nervous but I know it's a fact of life. All of the staff at Santee Dental Team are so friendly and professional. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable at your appointment. I had Chandler clean my teeth and she was fantastic! Dr Gibbons and Tina are really lovely although I haven't had them do any work on me yet but I feel confident I will have a great experience with them too in the future. Love this office. Highly recommend!

The front staff is so warm and welcoming . The doctor is very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything . The dental assistant is experienced and made the X-ray process easy! Their hygienist is very thorough and made sure to let me know what I could do to better improve my oral hygiene . I really loved coming to this office and will definitely be back for my 6 month check up and to top it off they give you a nice flower on your way out to brighten up your day !

For someone who has anxiety about going to the dentist, Santee Dental Team has put me completely at ease. The staff is extremely friendly, and very helpful! They work with your schedule and can get you in fast in case of an emergency situation. I recommend their practice to anyone who is looking for a friendly dental office that also provides quality work.

DONT EVER GO TO DR KUN. He is dishonest and he made us wait for 40 minutes. When we walked in he basically made us feel like we were not wanted, So I went today to my appointment at 515 p.m. I chose this dentist because they had late appointments. Fast forward 30 min. I ask the reception is the wait b time like this all the time. She responded no there was an emergency. No one told me the situation, I had to inquire about it. So at 6 p.m I get called to the back. The doctor came in 15 min later and first thing he said "oh, another new patient". He did not introduce himself, he did not say hello anything. Great first impression. He seemed frustrated n angry. He looked at my teeth for 3 min and then he said I'm done. That was it. No x-rays or recommendations. I'm not sure if this was a one time thing but I will not find out. He took our money and ran basically. HE IS A SCAM AND A BAD DOCTOR. DO NOT GO TO HIM.

The dental team was great! I really enjoyed the staff and my appointment. Everything was explained to me before it was done. I didn't feel any pain during my cleaning and fillings. My whole family goes here now. My kids also enjoy the visits despite having to go see a dentist.
