At Santa Rosa Endodontics, we strive to save as much of the tooth as possible. Far too often, people will avoid seeking treatment out of fear of a dental checkup or the false idea of what a root canal is like. Thus, their teeth get into bad enough of a condition that an extraction is the only option. By seeking our treatment early on, we can remove the infected part of a tooth while allowing most of the tooth to remain in the mouth. The procedure itself is painless with only minor soreness after.
Our team has the skills, expertise and tools necessary to help patients keep their natural teeth and maintain a healthy smile. As an endodontist, we can help treat the inside of the tooth. By preserving as much of the tooth as possible, we can help patients continue to have functional and healthy teeth for years to come.
Dr. Loxley graduated from the University of Alabama at Birminghams School of Dentistry in 1994. She served with the U.S. Army Dental Corps for ten years, doing two tours abroad. After being selected for the militarys intensive Endodontic Specialty training program in 1998, Dr. Loxley earned her specialty certificate in Endodontics at the Armys Tengay Dental Clinic and the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Loxley opened an Endodontic practice in Bend, Oregon in 2004. In 2013 Dr. Loxley had the opportunity to sell her practice and move to Sonoma County where there are better programs for her oldest son who has special learning needs.
She is a member of the California Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontics, and the Redwood Empire Dental Society. Her passion is serving her patients and her community. She is involved with and supports many local programs such as: Meals on Wheels, Kids Scoop News classroom sponsor, Crossing the Jordan, and she is a proud supporter of Santa Rosa High School.
Dr. Dongjin Sah graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and performed general dentistry for two years prior to entering specialty training in Endodontics. He earned his Master of Science in Dentistry and Endodontic certificate at Loma Linda University. Upon completion of his dental program, he received the Academy of General Dentistry Award and the honor of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He was also involved in several research projects, including the outcome of regenerative endodontic procedures, the effects of calcium hydroxide, and MTA obturation technique.
Dr. Awad, born and raised in California, graduated from University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni Dental School in San Francisco, CA. After dental school she completed a 1-year General Practice Residency (GPR), where she served the central valley in a community clinic, and veterans at the VA Hospital. In addition, she was on-call for a Trauma 1 Hospital, where she worked alongside medical doctors, nurses, and OMFS residents in the Emergency Department. Dr. Awad has received her endodontic certificate from University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Awad enjoys all aspects of endodontics, including surgical procedures. She is committed to treating all patients as family, for patient comfort and quality-care are her priorities.
Dr. Dadvand has been practicing dentistry since 2002. In Iran, she worked as a general dentist for four years before moving to the United States, where she pursued her career and received her DDS from the University of the Pacific (UOP) in San Francisco in 2010. Upon graduation, she completed a General Practice Residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dental Medicine in 2011.
After practicing as a general dentist for two years in the bay area, she pursued a postdoctoral residency in Endodontics at the Boston University, graduated in 2015. Dr. Dadvand has served as a part-time faculty member at the UOP and UCSF School of Dentistry, is the past president of Northern California Academy of Endodontists, a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
Having been raised abroad, Dr. Dadvand is fluent in Farsi and enjoys international travel. On weekends, she enjoys exploring the San Francisco Bay Areas outdoor beauty with her husband and Puppy Vista. She also enjoys reading, yoga, mountain climbing, playing the piano and the Santoor a Persian musical instrument, theater, flamenco dance, tap dance, water skiing, and skydiving.
Dr. Dadvand has experience with all aspects of general dentistry and endodontics with advanced knowledge in treating patients with anxiety, complicated medical histories, and special needs. Dr. Dadvand has also been trained in providing oral and IV conscious sedation, as well as treatment in an operating room setting.
As the Office Manager & Financial Coordinator, Aida enjoys interacting and building relationships with our patients. Her priority is to ensure that all our patients have a wonderful experience. Aida has been with Dr. Loxley since 2015 and admires her passion to provide exceptional care to every patient. Outside of work, Aida loves spending time with her son, family, and friends.

First off, the actual root canal was fine. Dr Dehner was quite competent and had a calm, professional manner. That part went well. However, his assistant struggled with x-rays. Kept taking them, kept missing the tooth being worked on. Result, 12-14 x-rays were taken (in 2 separate sessions) to get 2 usable images (they were taken late in the procedure, and at end.) This is after I earlier in the visit had already taken a 3D x-ray scan to diagnose the issue. I am a pretty reasonable person. I never write negative reviews, or for that matter reviews of any kind. But I do try to avoid needless x-rays when they aren't necessary, and so this was upsetting. Finally, during the 2nd imaging attempt a more experienced technician stepped in and obtained a usuable image on the first try. My assistant was clearly inexperienced, and/or in training. She should not have been administering x-rays, in my opinion, without the doctor present or under experienced supervision. At the very least, she should have asked for help sooner. I did bring it up to the doctor and he only said that, despite the extra x-rays taken, overall exposures are probably low. But bottom line, I received 10-12 completely unnecessary x-ray exposures. This should not have happened and I am not happy about it.

DO NOT GO HERE! Both my cousin and Aunt went here and are usually tough as nails. They can both handle pain. They both came out crying not only because of pain and discomfort but because of horrible service and a frustrating experience. Definitely avoid this place.

My name is Huong Tran and I would like to share my great experience at Santa Rosa Endodontics with Dr. Dongjin Sah. I came in for a visit to get treatment for my root canal and gum infection. At first I was very nervouse, but later when Dr. Sah did the procedure, i appreciate the work he did on me. He was patience, gentle, smart, and had a good heart how he made me feel. I definately recommend here for any need good dental. Nurse Karla was very sweet and nice, very professional and I appreciate the entire staff. Thank you for a great experience

Was very thankful to be seen quickly and have a comprehensive and clear assessment by Dr Awad. She was very thorough, transparent, and kind. I would go back to her any day. I unfortunately was disappointed by the follow up and confusion caused by one of the front desk members when I called back the following day with regards to scheduling and my overall plan of care . She gave me conflicting and contradictory reports of what I was told by Dr Awad the day prior and she began to yell at me when I calmly and politely told her I was confused as I was told differently by Dr Awad and the front desk the day before. Just disappointed and shocked by the behavior and lack of professionalism shown.

I went to Dr Loxley for a root canal with sedation. and while she and her dental team did an EXCELLENT JOB, the secretary at the front desk was not at all straight forward with the procedure and somewhat rude. I asked her about when I would need to come back for the crown, and she told me (paraphrasing) 'you wont need to come back. this is a permanent solution'. she was just in a hurry to get me in the back in the dental chair. of course I wake up the next day to find out that all she really meant was is I didnt have to come back to THAT OFFICE , and that I was still required to go back to my dentist and pay an additional 1000$something for the crown. once again, great dentist and 90% of staff. but the middle aged woman at the desk brought their whole score down. a lot. I ended up changing the star rating back up to 3 stars because Dr Loxley is such a sweet and kind mannered dentist. after dosing me 2x and still seeing I wasnt sedated she went the extra mile and gave me a double dose to make sure I was comfortable. I dont remember any of the "trauma". I would recommend this establishment to anyone. just really rubbed the wrong way by that receptionist! she didnt even tell me that my driver had to come in to sign a release or I couldnt get treatment, so I had to call my ride who had already dropped me off, and have them turn back around and drive back to sign the paper! get rid of her, and I'll give you guys 5 and a half stars!

I just had the most exquisite root canal and evaluation ever...Dr. Emine Loxley, and her assistant are not only on the same page, but the same wavelength. Mine was an emergency, aND my only regret is that the they do not do crowns or implants, completely acceptable..I wish I could give 10 stars

I was nervous for my very 1st root canal Dr. Loxley was kind, caring and did a fabulous job on my tooth. She saved my crown! I was in no pain. I recommend this office to everyone I know. The office staff was amazing The office was clean and they took all precautions due to Covid-19.
