Dr. Roshen Ganesh received his Doctorate in Dental Science from the University of Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa, in 1983 and Post Doctorate Diploma in Dental Surgery from the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town. He served as the dental director of a private dental clinic in Verulam, South Africa, for 22 years prior to starting his practice in Santa Monica in 2004. His extensive experience with advanced procedures and technology is a product of training all over the world.
Dr. Ganesh was one of the first dentists worldwide that trained with the CEREC technology starting in 1994. He holds postgraduate advanced certifications in CEREC technology from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, the University of Liverpool, Great Britain, and the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He has also trained with Sirona in Bensheim, Germany, with CEREC 1. Dr. Ganesh has trained intensively at various prestigious dental institutes in the US on esthetics, endodontics and implant reconstructive rehabilitations.
Dr. Ganesh currently lives in Santa Monica with his wife and is the father of two sons. He is an avid cyclist and marathoner. In his free time, he enjoys windsurfing, kitesurfing, sitting down with a book at his favorite local coffee shop, and meeting new people. Whether in the office or at home, Dr. Ganesh is constantly striving to build beautiful, meaningful smiles. Dr. Ganesh is a member of the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, West Los Angeles Dental Society, California Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

Hi! My name is Bahar, and Im the practice manager here at SMED. I am responsible for both our front and back office. I mainly handle admin work in the front office and work as a clinical assistant training our dental assistants and volunteers. I recently graduated with my masters degree in global medicine from USC. In my free time, I like staying active by playing volleyball, going to the gym or hiking with my friends. Im always looking for new food adventures, so if you know a good spot, let me know! My favorite part of the dentistry is our patients! It makes my day when the patient understands how and why their dental hygiene affects their whole health. I love to see the major changes in their mouth and how excited they are that they created that change by their daily home care with healthy dental habits! I have been working in dental offices since the 1980s. I also taught dental hygiene for a brief three years when we lived in Florida and I plan to continue my career working as a dental hygienist. Outside the office, I love spending time with my three adult children and my siblings. We often meet at one of the many beautiful beaches here for water fun and or shopping!

I'm a new patient and this is a beautiful office with a very friendly staff! I felt welcomed immediately and my dentist was very personable & took time to answer all my questions. I was comfortable during my cleaning and exam and highly recommend this dental practice. :)

Dr. Ganesh and his staff are all extremely kind, professional, and friendly! The office is beautiful and clean, and they make sure to accommodate to each patient's needs so that you're comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Ganesh's work is very thorough and you can tell he truly cares about his patients and his practice. Highly recommend this place!!

Doctor is really friendly, treated me with so much care and really seeks perfection. If you're seeking fake teeth that look so much like real ones and want them to be done without any pain, then this place is the one! Staffs are also well trained and super helpful. The clinics is really clean I guess staffs has put much effort into that. Plus, there's lot of highly advanced machines like the camera linked microscopes that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Extremely rude and condescending. He is so unprofessional all around. I would avoid working with him and his staff! I read his UPDATED response and I'm so glad I kept his note which clearly isn't "courteous." He cursed and threatened me "to get out of his office now" after he duck taped a note to my window, which is so aggressive. Nothing about this post is fraudulent. I never claimed to be a patient- I'm sharing how he treated me so you're aware of his raging personality. This is the only review posted so he's making false that I attacked him on all platforms. Who would want to work with a doctor with this type of belligerent and insulting demeanor, let alone trust him with your smile! Beware.

The Dr and his staff are all top notch, professional and kind. I am terrified of the dentist normally, who isn't? I felt safe here and was able to go through a surgery that I had put off with other dentists. Absolute gem of dentist office in LA. You are in good hands.

SMED has been my go-to dentistry for almost a decade. I am very happy with Dr. Roshen Ganesh who restored a number of my teeth with modern materials. I am impressed with the very modern technology which aides him not only explaining but actually showing what is going on, and why he proposes what he does. I was positively awed when he was able to remove a tool that a previous dentist had "lost" in one my root canals. While at it he found two more canals in the same tooth said previous dentist did not find and had left untreated.

I am very enthusiastic about the complete full mouth restoration that Dr. Ganesh did for me in 2017. This was a very complex set of procedures and three years later, I am 110% satisfied with results he delivered. Dr. Ganesh is a total perfectionist in everything he does and he is the most caring and careful dental professional that I've ever had the pleasure to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to do the whole process again with Dr. Ganesh and I would recommend him without reservation to my family and my closest friends and associates.

The level of service at SM Esthetic Dentistry is above and beyond anything I've received elsewhere -- patient comfort, technology, cleanings, and consultations are all top-notch.
