At Santa Maria & Schneider family dentistry we are committed to providing our patients with exceptional dental care in a modern and relaxing environment. An emphasis is placed on patient education and preventative care as we utilize the latest dental technology and equipment.
Dr. Michael Schneider, DMD was named Top Dentist in Connecticut Magazine. Dr. Schneider received his degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He completed a residency in General Dentistry at the Albany Medical Center. Dr. Schneider is a member of the American Dental Association, and has been the President of the Hartford Dental Society. He is still active in the Hartford Dental Society Outreach Committee where he has been instrumental in planning Give Kids a Smile events. Give Kids a Smile is a program designed to help children from low-income families that cannot afford dental care. Dr. Schneider holds awards from the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and the International College of Dentists. He was inducted as a Fellow into the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international dentists honor organization focused on dental professionalism, integrity, and ethics.
Dr. Gary Santa Maria received his Bachelors degree and DMD from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in Farmington, CT. He has received awards in Oral Surgery and Geriatric Dentistry. Dr. Santa Maria went into private practice and continued his education by attending a one year Implant Maxi Course, affiliated with New York University and Brookdale Medical Center in NY. He is a member of the American Dental Association, New Britain Dental Society, American Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has been named a Top Dentist by Hartford and Connecticut Magazines. Dr. Santa Maria has been donating countless hours to educate elementary school children in Plainville, Farmington, and New Britain about oral health and oral hygiene. Dr. Santa Maria also volunteers annually for the Connecticut Mission of Mercy, a two day clinic providing free dental care to the underserved and uninsured in Connecticut.
Dr. Mitch Cardillo graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Cardillo is an associate for Dr. Santa Maria and Dr. Schneider having known them for many years and is proud to be a member of their team. Dr. Cardillo is a member of the American Dental Association, The Connecticut State Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Cardillo makes it a priority to provide quality care to each and every patient in an effort to improve oral health. Establishing relationships based on trust and mutual understanding of treatment benefits his goal.

Cancelled last minute...so he could get haircut Been taking two kids (now teenagers) there for their whole lives. Their cancellations (by THEM) have been higher than usual. And rescheduling is 3 months out. They have recommended unnecessary procedures: when primary dentist dr. Santamaria was not available to check my then 9 year old, dr. Schneider checked him and recommended and scheduled (with his mother) filling in a baby tooth. Previous appointment had determined minor cavity in baby tooth was not in need of care. Only at my insistence was filling cancelled and Dr. Santamaria looked at it and agreed no filling recommended. (Was revenue grab by Dr. Schneider?). Tooth fell out a few months later. Today, they called hour before appointment to cancel saying dentist unexpectedly had to leave early. Offered January 20th (it is Sept 29th) as next available for 6-month checkup on 13 year-old. After I said I could come tomorrow and that they could have dentist call if that would not work. Dentist called --said he had to get haircut today and would not take my son tomorrow (so only option was January 20 for reschedule caused by his office and his haircut).. If we did not like it, find another practice. So unprofessional.

The best Dentist! Hold nothing back with care as well as after care. What doctors call you after a procedure? Dr. Santa Maria I can't say enough good things about him!!!

An awesome experience Dr. SantaMaria is very caring and extremely reasonable as I have no dental insurance he even called me the same evening to see how I was doing you don't get that anymore he is great I would refer anyone to see him great staff also thank you again Dr.Santa Maria.

Professional, caring dentist, I feel comfortable and can engage in conversation with him listening. If an emergency he will see you ASAP and call personnally after procedure .

They used to care about how they treated you but my last experience was horrible the lady I had didn't take any care for my teeth. My teeth and gums didn't hurt when I went in but now my whole mouth hurts. She jammed the scaler in to my gums so hard and deep it felt like I was getting stabbed with needles in my gums multiple times. I now have sores all over my gums and my whole mouth has been hurting for 48 hours it's never been like this before

My teeth and gums didn't hurt when I went in but now my whole mouth hurts. She jammed the scaler in to my gums so hard and deep it felt like I was getting stabbed with needles in my gums multiple times. I now have sores all over my gums and my whole mouth has been hurting for 48 hours it's never been like this before

We brought our 6 and 5 yr old boys to the dentist for the 1st time. My husband and I were very nervous as to how the boys would be at the dentist. I can confidently say that Dr. Santa Maria and his staff are the best. We were warmly welcomed and, thanks to how kid friendly they are, the boys were amazing during their cleanings. We are hooked, definately staying with Dr. Santa Maria!

I've been going here since I was a kid, I'm now 27 and I'll never go anywhere else. Dr. Santa Maria is kind, compassionate, empathetic and wise! He really goes the extra mile. His staff genuinely compliment the practice. Especially Kelsey & Candy whom always greet me almost like family. Like I said, I'll never go anywhere else.

Dr. Gary Santa Maria is quite simply the best there is. No matter how busy the practice gets, his attention is focusing you, the patient. As is typical in life, every good man has a support network. "Santa''s" helpers that I deal with on a regular basis include Candy, Liz, Kate, Karen and Kelsey. All great folks that really make you feel a part of the family. Love them all!

I have hated dentists and the whole experience all my life, until I started going to Dr. Santa Maria. He really took the time to understand my dental anxiety, reassure me, and make me feel comfortable. I've had my very first crown with him with no pain and no issues. Fabulous! I no longer dread going to the dentist :)
