To fully appreciate the academic experience and dedication that Dr. Frank Bonno has brought to Santa Fe Dental Associates may require several sessions in his chair. He is always approachable and treats each patient as his next new friend. After over 33 years of practice in the Santa Fe area, he has a valuable detailed memory on patients treatments, issues and family history. When you have an investment in a small community the rewards are keeping in touch with your patients; watching the children grow up and treating them again when they are back from college or home to see their parents. He has a genuine interest in his patients and their families.
His quest to serve began in Houston at Robert E. Lee High School. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology at Texas A&M University. He became a Licensed Pharmacist by earning a Postgraduate Degree at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. In 1985 he completed his Dental Degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. In 1982, Dr. Bonno married his lovely wife, Debbie, and found time to raise three children; Christina, Claire, and Frank Jr. Dr. Bonno purchased the practice of Holbert Lang DDS in 1988. Soon the office became too small, which resulted in forming Santa Fe Dental Associates with Dr. Dwayne Fontenot in 2003. At the current location there are now three Dentists and twelve Support Staff.
Dr. Bonno is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Greater Houston Dental Society. With little leisure time, he loves to gather family and friends around the table, share and display his Italian culinary skills and appetite for life. Outside of spending time with friends and family he is an avid reader and enjoys hunting.
Dr. Fontenot, a native Texan, grew up in southwest Houston. After graduating from Westbury High School, he entered the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He graduated in 1999 from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston with his Dental Deg
Dr. Fontenot, a native Texan, grew up in southwest Houston. After graduating from Westbury High School, he entered the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He graduated in 1999 from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston with his Dental Degree. During his studies, he was recognized for Outstanding Undergraduate Achievement in the Field of Prosthodontics. He also earned the Aquasil Ultras Quest Reward in the Bridge Impression Category. He is currently an Invisalign provider and is continuing his education to obtain Fellowship status with the International Dental Implant Association.
Dr. Fontenot is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Greater Houston Dental Society, International Dental Implant Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr Fontenot met his wife, Kristen, at the University of Houston. Kristen is a Registered Dental Hygienist and is a staff member at Santa Fe Dental Associates. They enjoy working together and raising their two daughters, Elise and Audrey. The Fontenot family is learning to snow ski and enjoy traveling to National Parks. One of Dr. Fontenots passions is classic car restoration, especially his Pontiac Trans-Am. He also enjoys all varieties of fishing and his endless home improvement projects.
In the fall of 1999, Dr. Fontenot joined Dr. Bonno as an associate. They eventually formed a partnership in 2003 and the practice became Santa Fe Dental Associates. The Santa Fe Dental Office is an extension of Dr Fontenots family. He enjoys exchanging stories, sharing ideas and parental tips with his patients. Dr. Dan was born and raised in southeast Houston. He graduated in the top 25% of his high school and was awarded First Place in Nationals of the Health Occupations Student of America Competition under Dental Assisting. This movement was the start to his career into the dental profession. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a
Dr. Dan was born and raised in southeast Houston. He graduated in the top 25% of his high school and was awarded First Place in Nationals of the Health Occupations Student of America Competition under Dental Assisting. This movement was the start to his career into the dental profession. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Health minor from the University of Houston. During his time in college, his devotion towards dentistry continue to grow becoming leaders of dental organizations that helped other students proceed into the same profession. He became a Registered Dental Assistant and volunteered at Texas Mission of Mercy events and at Healthcare for the Homeless Houston, where he they provide free dental services for the community. He stayed in Houston and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry. As a dentist, his education will never end. He continues to strive to learn through numerous continuing education courses and through the wisdom of his colleagues in Santa Fe.
Dr. Dan is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and the Greater Houston Dental Society. Through sharing the passion for helping the community, Dr. Dan met his fianc, Dr. Kaylee Phan, at UH and plans on marrying her in the winter of 2020. They enjoy volunteering, attending church services, and being with the families. For leisure, Dr. Dan loves to cook, bake, and explore food from different cultures. In the Summer of 2019, Dr. Dan joins Dr. Bonno and Dr. Fontenot as an associate. He enjoys learning from these two about dentistry and wants to make the world a better place one smile at a time.
