Welcome to Santa Clara Orthodontics, the practice of Dr. Varghah Lotfi, located in Santa Clara, California. We appreciate the opportunity to meet with you and discuss your orthodontic needs. We are a patient-focused practice and are here to help you achieve the healthiest smile possible.
Dr. Lotfi received his bachelor of science degree, Magna Cum Laude, from University of California San Diego. He then received his doctor of dental surgery, DDS degree from University of California, San Francisco. He completed his residency at Indiana University, School of Dentistry. In addition Dr. Lotfi completed a Craniofacial Biology fellowship at University of Kentucky, School of Dentistry.
Kelly has been with Santa Clara Orthodontics since 2004. She has held various positions such as sterilizer and orthodontic assistant. Currently she is our practice coordinator. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid San Jose Sharks fan and loves going to concerts.
Alicia joined Santa Clara Orthodontics in April 2018 as Orthodontic Assistant. She has been a dental assistant for both orthodontics as well as general dentistry since 2001. Her passion for dentistry and the patients shows as soon as she greets you. Outside of the office Alicia is busy with her 3 children, which 2 are grown and 1 is still in elementary school. Her hobbies include cooking and school volunteering.

This place honestly is the best in town. Great prices compare to others in town and the staffs are so welcoming and amazing! From the moment you step in, you are greeted. What makes each visit so great is how caring they are and how much attention to detail the orthodontist Dr. Lotfi put into each visit and treatment. I will definitely being referring this office to other people looking for treatments in Santa Clara. Thank you Dr lotfi I can now smile and take lovely pictures of myself.

I started my orthodontic procedure with Dr. James back in 2016. He was a no-nonsense guy and the procedure was very straightforward. Right before the end of my procedure to take my braces off in 2018, Santa Clara Orthodontics was taken over by Dr. Lotfi. He's also a very friendly and straightforward guy. After a few months of taking my braces off, my lower teeth moved even with the retainers installed (because they were not bonded to every tooth). I went back to Dr. Lotfi and he put me back on braces for the bottom teeth for another year to re-align the teeth, at no extra cost! 1 year later in 2019, I had my bottom braces removed and a new retainer installed which bonds on each tooth so it keeps everything together. Overall, the last 3 years have been very straightforward and I can very much recommend Dr. Lotfi for any future ortho patients.

I wear Invisalign and one of my brackets fell off. I was in a panic because I am from San Diego, but I am working up here for six-weeks. I was told by my orthodontist I would have to either fly back to SD or ask if a local orthodontist would fix it. After many phone calls, and many "no, we can't fix it," phone calls, I was so happy to hear Dr. Lotfi would take me! Him and his staff were very warm, welcoming and professional. The procedure took less than fifteen minutes and he did it out of the kindness of his heart! Thank you Dr. Lotfi, I appreciate it SO much!! I would highly recommend any patient to him.

I had done my orthodontics with Dr James in the 90s and had no problems until my permanent bottom retainer came off open just 2 nights ago. Pretty concerned about the ramifications of a loose piece of metal in my mouth and whether or not Dr Lotfi would accept me as and old patient of that office, he and his staff took me at a heartbeat and fixed my problem in no time. Orthodontics is a serious dental procedure and a major undertaking for any patient. After Dr James, left, I was always wondering what to do in case of an emergency. Now, I rest assured Dr. Varghah's gentle touch and professionalism await me, should I have any problems any time. Mehrdad
