Dr. James R. Jespersen was born and raised in California. He attended high school and graduated from Pleasant Valley located in Chico, CA in 1967 and promptly moved to San Jose that fall to attend college. After three years of college, he applied and was accepted to dental school at University of Illinois graduating in 1974. Wanting to learn to care for complex medical histories he was accepted into the Wadsworth V.A. Hospital dental practice residency in Los Angeles,CA and completed his internship in 1975. It was during this residency that he developed the desire to limit his practice to Endodontics. He was accepted to the specialty program at University of Illinois and completed his advanced studies certificate in 1977. He then returned to Santa Clara to join an established practice. In 1992 he completed the process of becoming a Diplomat of the American Board of Endodontics.
Roberta grew up in the Bay Area and received her RDA license in 2004. Over the last 15 years shes been working as an RDA in the Bay Area and has been working with Dr. Photopoulos and Dr. Jespersen for the last two years in Specialty Endodontics. Her favorite activities are hiking, camping and spending time with her family and friends.
Sandip was raised in India and moved to the US with her parents. She graduated with her RDA license in 2007 from San Jose City College and joined our practice the same year. She is fluent in Hindi and Poonjabi. In her spareshe enjoys cooking and going for long walks with her family.
Cathy has worked for our office for over 40 years. She considers herself young at heart and is always working to make sure the office is running smoothly. She does a great job of informing the patients of everything they need to know. When she is not working she loves to go out with her family and friends, visit with her grandkids, and spend time with her husband, Gary, in Disneyland.

I had a positive experience here. While it is never pleasant to get a root canal, they made it as painless as possible. I appreciated the attentiveness to my comfort level and the attempts to put me at ease about the procedure. I've had rough dental experiences in the past and it was a relief to be treated with such kindness. My only suggestion is perhaps a reminder call or text about the appointment with maybe an instruction about coming earlier to complete the paperwork. They were very Covid safety conscious.

This Dr is very thorough in his work and also very customer service oriented. I went in with pain in my gums and the doctor did root canel that was painless and quick. Very happy with the services I received I'd recommend this Doctor to anyone that needs a root canel.

2 years I had a botched root canal that required me to get apicoectomy. I put it off as long as i could but the time came to address it. Dr. Photopoulos came highly recommended by friends and family and I was EXTREMELY satisfied at both the service and results. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and professional from the minute I walked in. Like most people, I do not look forward to any kind of surgical procedure but Dr. Photopoulos talked me through every step of the procedure, answered all my questions, and most importantly made me feel very comfortable. The procedure went so well that I didn't experience any of the post op discomfort they told me to look out for. No bleeding, no swelling or bruising, I felt great the very next day. I'm every happy I was referred to this office. I highly recommend Dr. Photopoulos to anyone who's looking for an Endodontist.

I had to have a root canal done, and the whole process was painless. The staff was very professional and the Dr was able to complete the procedure in under an hour. I am satisfied with the whole experience.

Extremely professional. I had my root canal messed up by AZ dental and I had to be referred to this place to work with endodontist to finish my root canal. Everyone here was exceptional. They finished the work on time and provided me with appropriate amount of details throughout the process.

This place has restored my faith in dentistry! I'm a nervous wreck when it comes to any type of dental work and Dr. Photopoulos did an outstanding job of not only keeping me calm but also keeping me informed during the procedure. Everyone I encountered in this office was very pleasant and patient. I hope I don't have to return, but if I do have to, wouldn't seem like such a pain.

Dr. Photopoulos exceeded my expectations in all categories! He was very articulate in sharing his exceptional knowledge of the exact dental issue we were dealing with, administered the anesthetic without any pain, and his Office worked like a well-practiced team. From the time I walked in the door, until I left, I had someone guiding me through next steps, from "new patient" forms, through comfort, care, and even billing. But, it is the bottomline we all focus on ... the root canal which included dealing with a root infection was the single best root canal I've ever had. And, the Office created a wonderful, fun environment as we listened to Andrea Bochelli in Concert (which I requested) as the Dr. worked! The nearly 2 hrs flew by in no time! And, the day after, there was NO pain, NO sense of all of the work completed, and I am grateful to have been referred to Dr. Photopoulos!

Dr. Photopoulos is simply amazing. He is informative, ultra professional and has the best bedside manner. He made a not so pleasant tooth issue much more bearable. I felt very lucky to have him take care of my serious tooth issue.
