Dr. Sang Kim graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine as valedictorian in his class of 132 students. He is a recipient of American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Award.
He has active dental and medical licenses in GA, VA, DC, MD and is board certified for American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a published author of abstracts on dental implants during the national annual American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) meetings and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) scientific research day. He also wrote book chapters in 'Pediatric Head and Neck Tumor: A to Z' by Oral and Plastic Surgery Department at Boston Children 's Hospital (CHB). Dr. Kim is also an author of peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral surgery Oral medicine, Oral pathology, Oral radiology on topics in Orthognathic (Jaw) surgery and Pathology. He collaborates writing scientific journals with Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Yonsei University College of Dentistry, in Korea.
He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Association.

I was referred to Dr Kim by my regular dentist, Todd Casey, DDS, for a molar extraction and dental implant. Everything went perfectly with absolutely no complications and with minimal pain or discomfort. Dr Kim knew exactly what needed to be done, knew what he was doing, and he did it well. I hope I will never have the need to see Dr Kim again for as long as I live. But if I do, I would go back to Dr Kim with absolutely no hesitation or concern.

Everyone in the office delivered a 5 star experience! Dr. Kim is a surgical magician! I'm not sure what dental school of dark arts he went to but the force is strong with Dr. Kim and he completely delivered the best work and service I've ever had. He was very precise and to the point when talking with him but also had the perfect mix of relatability, humor, personable..and much more which all culminated in a great sense of trust in him and his team. I had an immense amount of trust and confidence in Dr. Kim to do an operation that I was so scared to do. Speaking of his team! Whoah! Everyone was so fantastic. I have to apologize that I cant name any names because I am so bad with remembering names. But the front desk team was always so caring and understanding. The in surgery room team was equally amazing. Very gentle when hooking you up to machines and very respectful and professional. I had to remind myself that I wasnt at a spa place or something because they really make you feel like your not about to have surgery. One nice lady even remembered our conversation from the week before and had remembered that I met my girlfriend in high school and just small talk that made me feel relaxed before the operation. Welp... I'm rambling a but here but I never leave reviews but i owe everyone there a huge thank you. Please continue being awesome for your clients, i can see how you are really helping change the world in a positive way. I've always had a massive amount of fear around these types of operations so I really do mean everything that I wrote above as the smooth experience really has impacted me so strongly. Was told I had to pay $2,500 out of pocket or wait another month after they canceled my PREVIOUSLY scheduled surgery because of a scheduled conflict. I originally went in for a consultation for a wisdom tooth extraction after one of my wisdom teeth broke and had me in daily severe chronic pain. I was told the earliest I could be seen for surgery would be October 4, which was over three weeks from the consultation appointment. We were also not given any prescriptions for pain medication while we waited, but instead told to do saltwater rinses and to take ibuprofen and acetaminophen. However, after having to go to urgent care and be prescribed Vicodin due to the now debilitating pain and possible signs of infection, I decided to call this office and see if I could be seen earlier since they informed that if there were signs of infection or severe pain they would have to try and get us in more urgently. But OH. MY. GOODNESS. They pulled a bait and switch on me as they ended up telling me that there was a scheduling conflict and they wouldn't be able to see me on the 4th anymore, so the earliest they would be able to see me is November or pay $2,500 out of pocket to be seen sooner.

I went to Dr. Kim after I had an accident and needed some maxillofacial fracture repair. I would recommend him and his entire office to anyone. Everyone was extremely pleasant, worked efficiently, and was kind during the entire process. All the people I worked with at the front desk were super helpful. His office is one of the best well run I've been to. It's nice to see there are health professionals out there that prioritize patient needs and comfort. I can't say enough good things about their practice. I've never written a google review, but this seemed like the best time to. You won't regret choosing Dr kim !

Dr. Kim and his staff are INCREDIBLE!!!! (shoutout to Eunice) I was nervous about getting my wisdom teeth removed but everyone in the office was so patient, enthusiastic, caring, and welcoming! (ex. many fist bumps, when you leave everyone smiles and waves)They are extremely organized (office responds in seconds, zero waiting room time, explained the process and paperwork very clearly). They also got me in for follow up within a couple hours. I've NEVER experienced a medical office with this kind of energy I wish I could go back there just to hangout with them!!! I would trust them with any procedure and will be recommending them to everyone. My brother will be seeing you soon because my parents also give you a 5/5!

Dr. Kim was excellent! His bedside manner is perfect and he's super smart. He's the best at what he does and I am so happy with work and the results the were achieved. He really cared about me as a patient and I highly recommend him. Take a lot to impress me and he totally did.

Dr. Kim extracted a tooth and then eventually put in an implant. When I went to my dentist for the crown, he said he had never seen an implant of its type and so well done. I didn't need the usual procedure for a crown- it just went into whatever part of the implant Doctor Kim put in and was a breeze. Everyone at Dr Kim's office was lovely. Highly recommend.

I was having serious pain in my mouth from one of my wisdom teeth growing in (after I had neglected it for several years I was having a serious issue). Dr. Kim brought me in on very short notice, got me x rays and made a plan of action to help me within 45 minutes. The staff were kind, helpful and quick. I needed help and they fit the bill! I can not recommend this group enough.

My daughter had all 3 of her wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Kim at the beginning of the summer. I was nervous because my son had had a very painful experience previously (a different oral surgeon in DC). But he came highly recommended by another parent and a friend so I canceled an appointment with another surgeon and booked a consultation with Dr. Kim. In short, my daughter's recovery process was much easier than we had anticipated. And when we had a concern (which turned out to be not an issue), I could text the doctor who responded right away and he even had us come in the next day. I also appreciated that he worked with our not-so-flexible schedule.

Dr. Kim is great with kids! My son was referred here and while my sons case isn't common, Dr. Kim reassured me that it was the right decision. I was very happy that Dr. Kim took into consideration other health issues my son has. When the procedure happened, everything went smoothly. I'm really happy I brought my son into this office.

Dr.Kim and his Team are the best ! The moment you enter the office they put you at ease . Very friendly and caring . I've had two procedures done from Dr. Kim so far , both times in a very calm , relaxing environment and painless . Dr. Kim takes the time to explain in detail the procedure and what to expect . Dr Kim is the best surgeon in his field, and I had a wonderful experience here. My daughter previously had her wisdom teeth taken out by Dr Kim, and she recommended I come here if I ever needed treatment. I needed an emergency bone graft after I broke my tooth, and Dr Kim's office was so quick to set up an emergency appointment for me to be treated. Both Dr Kim and all of his staff are so kind, professional, and skilled. After being treated by Dr Kim, I definitely understand why my daughter recommended I come here- he is a top notch surgeon. I am very satisfied with my care and so appreciative of Dr Kim and his team.
