Dr. Lewis grew up right here in Sandy, Utah, not more than a mile from his office. He attended Jordan High School where he lettered in football, soccer, and was a Student body Officer. Upon returning from a mission for his church in Geneva, Switzerland he attended and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in French and minor in chemistry. Before starting dental school he interned for world renowned dental lecturer and founder of the CR Foundation, Gordon J. Christensen. During this year internship Dr. Lewis evaluated dental products and devices before they were available to the dental community. He conducted research and co-authored publications in the dental field. He also presented research at the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) conference in Boston, Massachusetts as a pre-dental student.
Dr. Lewis attended and graduated from Creighton University Dental School through the highly respected Regional Dental Education Program and the University of Utah Medical School. Upon graduationhe purchased and acquired his practice, Sandy Family Dentistry, from Dr. David Adamson at its current location 19 years ago. He also continued his affiliation with the CR Foundation as one of 400 Clinical Evaluators in 16 countries. He volunteers his time to test and evaluate many of the products, devices, and materials used in the dental field. He does this to assure you as a patient that all the techniques, materials and devices used in his practice are of the highest quality available, as well as a service to his dental peers.
Dr. Lewis is affiliated with and a member of the Utah Dental Association, the American Association of Dental Research, the International Association of Dental Research, American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Academy of LDS dentists.
One of the most critical aspects of any successful dental practice is a highly trained and effective office staff. Employees that work at a respected business, and are treated well, stick around and are loyal. There are members of our staff that have been with our practice for 10 to 30 years. They know what they are doing and excel in their individual duties.
In my opinion, I have unequivocally the best office staff in the world. I am very proud to have them as my employees and friends. I was very wise and smart for having hired each of them. However the truth is I was just lucky they decided to choose me and our practice.
You will not find a dental office where the staff is more genuinely concerned for you as a patient, or are better at what they do. Not only in regards to your dental needs, but genuine concern for your needs as a person and those of your family. They do all this while providing a fun, friendly, family atmosphere.

Man!! Dr Lewis is by far the best dentist we have ever been to. We've been to a few different dentists but dr Lewis is always the best. My husband has been going to him since childhood and I started when we got married. We tried a pediatric dentist for my kids for about a year but came back to Dr Lewis. The staff is amazing! I love each of them. They are beyond friendly and professional yet they make me smile and laugh each time we go in. I'm so grateful for the family feeling of this dental clinic. Dr Lewis is the best. Don't know what we'll do when he retires. 5/5 stars of Amazing!

My family and I have been going to Dr Lewis for years. Not sure how you can give less than five stars to this group. Dr Lewis is always present and attentive. He is personable and professional and not your typical cheesy Dentist. The support staff is fantastic and friendly, caring, and efficient. Front desk staff is flat out amazing.

I have always had an incredible fear of dentists and had several bad experiences with some of them. Dr. Lewis and his staff are so nice and accommodating that I am actually not scared anymore! Which helps me to keep the habit of regular checkups. These people go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Also, you get a very pretty view of the mountains from the chair. ;)

The dental hygienist took the time to get some tartar buildup taken care of and was as gentle as she was thorough. I have a real fear of dentists and she was amazing. The dentist is great too, but dental offices are only as good as their hygienists and this one is great. I made this choice based on the reviews and I don't regret it at all!

I can't believe I've never left a review! I've been going to this dentist for about fifteen years now. I absolutely love everyone here! They are all so friendly and sweet. Dr. Russell has always done a fantastic job, and goes out of his way to make sure that you're comfortable. The staff are also amazing with my nine year old son. You won't find a more caring and compassionate team. Lewis has been my dentist for as long as I can remember. Throughout all my experiences with him and his staff they have all been genuine, understanding, and great to work with my busy schedule. I've had a lot of dental work and every visit Lewis and his team continues to make sure that I am comfortable throughout the visit. They truly care. Thank you

I get my annual teeth cleaning here and the dentists are great. Everyone from the reception desk to the doctors are extremely friendly, and I never have to wait much beyond my scheduled appointment time. If you're in the area in Utah, I highly recommend them!

Sandy Family Dentistry just recently performed a dental cleaning and did my 6 month check up. I was unhappy with my previous dentist so I thought I would give them a try. Dr. Lewis and the staff were great! I will be sticking with them from now on.
