As third-generation dentist, it has been my pleasure to have served the Memphis community for the past 30 years, the same as my father and grandfather before me. I enjoy providing a service that changes lives.
My life outside the office revolves around my family. I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, five children, and eight grandchildren. I also love the outdoors. I often spend time at the lake in the summer, playgolf, and love waterfowl hunting in the winter.
Just as passionate as I am about my family, I am also passionate about strengthening my community and participating in mission work. I have been blessed in so many ways, and it is with great satisfaction that I give back.
Professionally, I have been and am still involved in mission trips to provide dental care in other countries for people in extreme need. I will be going to Africa and Honduras this next year. For the past 30 years, I have also provided care for the children at the Tennessee Baptist Childrens Home. On a more personal note, I am involved in leadingBible study at a halfway house for people who have just been released from prison.

Dr. Sandusky is just what I needed in my life. He predicted that I would be married if not than have a string of boyfriends. Well so far I have a boyfriend so he might be on to something. But honestly it's the ladies that truly run the office and make you feel that you are on a lunch date getting caught up on the gossip for the month. I have been under the care of Sandusky Orthodontics for a year and I asked the great doctor where was my anniversary gift and he had to think about it. But the gift is truly the honesty of the situation. I am so grateful that I decided to go with Sandusky Orthodontics.

Dr. Sandusky was great. I was able to get an appointment the next day to address my loose retainer. He took care of it and had a replacement wearable made and fitted in a week. Short wait times and efficient staff members made the visit seamless! I look forward to bringing my son in to be assessed soon!

Love the staff! Dr. Sandusky is hilarious! He's always telling jokes and have me cracking up! He also talks about the ministry that he attends every Tuesday night. I've been having issues with TMJ-TMD for a while now and he expressed his concerns that it's imperative that I get under a treatment plan, in order to fix the alignment. The pain is satan himself, but I'm learning to live with it. Some days are better than other's. The staff at the dentist are very friendly, knowledgeable, fast and helpful. The wait time isn't long, I'm usually in and out within 45minutes-1 hr!! It's a clean and safe environment! Family friendly! The office manager Kim has been very helpful as well.

I had my first consultation with Dr. Sandusky on 12/10/20. This was my first time meeting him. I was referred to him by a former client of his and had high hopes that things would go well. When he looked into my mouth, he immediately said, "Oh, your mouth is jacked up! I'm glad I haven't eaten breakfast yet or I wouldn't be able to keep it down." I said, "Well that isn't very nice." He smiled and gave me a collegial tap on the shoulder as if we have a relationship that renders this kind of statement acceptable. Let me assure you, we do not. It is quite obvious that if I am coming to an orthodontist, I am aware of the problem and in need of help. A good doctor should be aware of the emotional experience of the patient enough to know that statements like this are hurtful. I have been to other orthodontists for consultation. They have effectively communicated the gravity of my oral health situation and the benefits of treatment without making me feel completely disrespected. This statement is inappropriate and unprofessional. I made a conscious decision to stay for the rest of the appointment although quite frankly what I have already stated was more than enough for me to leave. I wanted to see if anything else out of line would happen. Sure enough, it did. He made small talk during the rest of the appointment, as doctors sometimes do. He had taken pictures of my mouth (and quite frankly, was a bit rough) and then of my front and side profile of my head and face. After taking the pictures I was directed to a consultation room where I waited for Dr. Sandusky to discuss what he sees and what his treatment plan would be. The pictures were then placed on a large computer screen that was visible when he entered the consultation room. Upon entering he said, "Looks like a mugshot, don't you think?" I said, "Excuse me?" He continued, "Don't you read those magazines in the stores that have wanted photos in them?" I stared at him. He went on, "I do prison ministry and sometimes I see the guys I work with in there. That's why I was thinking it looked like a mugshot." I said, "No, I do not read those magazines." As a Black woman, I found this statement to be incredibly racially insensitive. Dr. Sandusky was enthusiastic about the idea of working with me to tackle the challenge of the orthodontic work that I need done. He kept stating that he looked forward to getting started and that he would inform my dentist about his treatment plan. I informed him that I am doing a series of consultations to find which orthodontist would be the right fit and would let him know if I would like to proceed. When I left his office, I saw he had sent an email to my with his treatment plan stating that he looked forward to working with her on my treatment. I HAD NOT CONFIRMED ANYTHING with him for this email to be sent. This was presumptive as I had clearly informed Dr. Sandusky and the office manager that I am getting other consultations and would let them know if I wanted to proceed with treatment. I feel that this communication should have taken place if and only if I confirmed that I wanted to proceed with Dr. Sandusky. For these reasons, I will not use Dr. Sandusky's services and I discourage anyone--especially people of color who desire to be treated with dignity and respect--from using his services as well. I would like to note that the staff were very kind and professional. I was greeted when I entered, and the office manager Kim explained the financial information with great care and clarity. The rest of the staff was wonderful.

First when arriving to the office the staff greeted me comfortably as if they had already knew me. The wonderful ladies at the front desk asked me to tell stories really engaging in conversation with me making it a more friendly environment, I had just got off work and they understood speeding up my process but still handling everything accordingly so I can get home and in bed. Second, Dr. Sandusky came out of the back and spoke in which you rarely see a doctor do especially when it's their practice or office on top of he was extra friendly really a people's person. He broke everything down to me step by step. And was very informative about the process and what I needed corrected in which made sense and I understood. I wasn't there no more than 30 minutes and That included the consultation, X-rays, pictures, a brief short informative talk with the doctor, and finances. I would definitely recommend this office to anybody. Everything I experienced overall In which made me very comfortable and loved that I picked Dr. Sandusky as my new orthodontist.

Very unprofessional in terms of medical knowledge and communication. I was a patient of Dr Sandusky (although I wouldn't call him a doctor) and he did terrible job. I am an adult with quite complicated case and I didn't expect a perfect smile, rather I wanted to have a healthy teeth. I transfered to Sandusky after I already started my treatment somewhere else and had to relocate to Memphis because of the job. Sandusky managed to ruin what was done before him - he misaligned few teeth. Now instead of having healthier teeth after orthodontic treatment I have misaligned upper and lower jaws and gaps between my teeth (it was much better before the treatment). Don't waste your money and don't let him treat your kids! My worst experience ever.

Great staff, super efficient office. Appointments scheduled to have you in and out quickly. Many precautions for COVID. Easy to schedule appointments and work out payment schedule. Great results !!!

Very knowledgeable and experienced! I didn't have to point out anything, Dr Sandusky did it for me. He addressed all my concerns in a very detailed way, I feel that I am in great hands! *(I'm in the dental field). Furthermore, his staff is delightful and friendly. I look forward to getting started!

If you read some of these reviews it will scare you like "okay no, I'm not going anywhere with rude service " but I wanted to try it out myself , and they were amazing , they were so nice and welcoming, of course jokes were thrown but i made some myself ..the jokes were very harmless , and some people just don't have a sense of humor ya know , I would recommend anybody to go to Sandusky ! They are very affordable,informative, and he even put my braces on in that same hour ! It didn't hurt at all ! TRY Him out for yourself
