Dr. Miles graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. After working for 3 years as a research biochemist, she decided that she wanted to dedicate a career to creating pretty smiles. So in 1988, dental school began at Indiana University School of Dentistry and there hasn't been any looking back. After the birth of her twins in 1991, she continued to work hard at her dental school studies and clinical work. She graduated in May of 1992, just before moving to North Carolina to take the state dental boards. She received her license in June of 1992 and began practicing the art of dentistry.
She opened her own practice in 1996 at the current location on the corner of 16th and Market Street. She and her staff have strived, from the onset of the dental practice, to commit themselves to offer only the highest-quality service using the most up-to-date equipment and techniques for their patients. Olivia joined our office as a part-time hygienist in October of 2004, but quickly became full-timer later that same year. She graduated from Coastal Community College Dental Hygiene in June of 2004. Through her enthusiasm, she has brought a bright attitude to the office that our patients and staff appreciate.
She is a motivated person and loves working with her patients. She is eager to educate her patients and answer any of the questions they may have about the most up-to-date modern dental techniques available to them. Her patients are thrilled with her gentle touch and thorough treatment. She enjoys working out and walking with her dog (also named Olivia) whom she rescued in 2016.
Joanie came to our team in July 2007. She has been enjoying her career as a dental assistant since 1993. She is originally from New Jersey, where she received her formal education in dental assisting. She has lived in Wilmington since she graduated in 1994 and is married to Bill, the love of her life.
She has enjoyed the transition from her long-time employment with her previous dentist to our office. She has been using these skills to help our patient family obtain the best-quality dentistry available. Her enthusiasm transcends to those around her, and her genuine concern helps to make her patients feel comfortable and assured during their visits.
We all look forward to having her with us for many more years to come. In addition to being a phenomenal dental assistant, she loves to read and cook, and she enjoys chocolate any chance she gets. She is also the proud grandma of a beautiful boy!
Bethany has worked as a certified dental assistant for over 25 years. She worked with us shortly after the practice opened for six years, and has just recently returned. She brings a passion for developing personal relationships with her patients, and is committed to making each and every patients trip to the office, an enjoyable one!
Bryce is a senior this year and will graduate in 2022. Her younger son Kellan started middle school this year (21-22). They both play baseball, and they are good at it! This keeps the whole family busy with games and traveling. She also enjoys the boat and spending time with her family. Their newest addition came in February 2020. A Boxer named Kai.
Annette came to our team in 2014. She has been a positive addition to our office with her dedication to her field. She is the consummate teacher and strives to help her patients in every way possible. She also helps out in other offices in town the other days of the week, but you can find her here on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
She married her best friend in 2015. She is the mother of two grown women and a doting grandmother to 4 beautiful grandchildren. She likes to walk on the beach and has just recently taken up paddle boarding. We look forward to having her with us for years to come.
All of the patients love seeing the dogs each time they come to visit! We are all animal lovers and would love to meet your four-legged family members, too. Many of our patients have already brought their babies in!
