Dr. Amanda Caswell-Burt was born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho. She graduated from Sandpoint High school, after which she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Molecular and Cellular biology at Boise State University- go Broncos! She completed her dental school education at New York University in 2011 and worked as a general dentist for two years when she decided she loved working with kids and wanted to specialize in pediatrics. Dr. Amanda attended Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon for her two year pediatric residency specialty training. She married Josh Burt, also a Sandpoint native, in 2010 at Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort. They have a daughter, Adelyn Mickie, who made her big debut in 2015. They have a yellow lab and a French bulldog who are well known at Laughing Dog here in town. Dr. Amanda loves living in North Idaho. She enjoys many of the activities our beautiful area has to offer from skiing at Schweitzer to boating on Lake Pend Oreille and backpacking into mountain lakes.

A pediatric dentist who has completed a graduate program accredited by CODA (Commission on Dental Accreditation) in the specialty of pediatric dentistry. A dentist who graduates from a specialty program becomes a pediatric dentist and is eligible to become board certified through the voluntary examination process of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). Involvement in the certification process is a demonstration of the pediatric dentists pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence.

The certification process involves a written Qualifying Examination and an Oral Clinical Examination covering all areas of information on which a pediatric dentist should be knowledgeable. Certification is awarded for a time-limited period and they must renew annually to maintain their board certified status.

Through this accomplishment, a pediatric dentist has earned the title of Diplomate of the American Board Pediatric Dentistry. Current Diplomats of The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry can be found on the Diplomate Roster at This Link.

Dr. Amanda is a gentle and kind pediatric dentist. My children were comfortable with her from the beginning. She explained what she found and potential treatment options very clearly. She consulted with me and we formulate an approach satisfactory to all involved. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. They made sure we had accurate information for treatment and insurance billing purposes. They were flexible and accommodating in scheduling. I'm grateful to have found such a great office to take care of my children's dental needs.

As always, Sandpoint kids dentistry exceeded my expectations. My young son is a little nervous before each visit, but his fears are quickly alleviated by their warm and gentle staff,( getting to pick out his own movie to watch never hurts...)

My son walked out of the dentist and said " Mom that was so fun. I really like everyone there- they are all so nice." I don't think I need to say anything else! But what he said! A great experience!

Had an exceptional experience consulting with Dr. Amanda Caswell Burt for a newborn tongue/lip tie. She was thorough and took ample time to explain and educate us. Will be bringing our kids here, no doubt!

Going to the dentist can put a person's anxiety level well within the red zone and doesn't usually leave one with a pleasant taste in their mouth ( pun intended). And can be an unsettling scary situation especially for a kid. But at Sandpoint kids dentistry from the time you walk in the front door everyone is very friendly and welcoming making you feel comfortable from the start. I had two teeth long overdue to be extracted and wasn't eagerly waiting for that moment to arise. The anticipation of the visit far exceeded the visit itself. I did not feel any pain or discomfort during the entire procedure which consisted of four roots that needed to be pulled due to the teeth being broken and neglected for too long.everything took less than an hour. Highly recommend for any parent with a child afraid of the dentist or even if they are not afraid. They have all the kids favorite movies they can watch during their visit the Dr. Is Gentle and pleasant. Which is nice when that person has your mouth clamped open with sharp instruments in their hands. Top notch five stars in and out friendly and no pain. Couldn't ask for a better tooth pulling experience.

What a great experience! I felt so terrible to learn my daughter had cavities (especially since she is so good about brushing her teeth)--but the office made me feel so much better about the process of getting her cavities filled and their work was incredible. Dr. Amanda did such a great job--and I love that my daughter got to watch a video while her cavities were filled. After having her cavities filled she asked (with excitement) when she would get to go back :) if that's not a testament to a wonderful dentistry experience than I don't know what is! Also, the front office staff is so kind and accommodating. They can even text to make arrangements for appointments! And they were very thoughtful in considering our insurance policy--adjusting appointment scheduling (pushing it out a few weeks to the beginning of the new year) so we would save money and insurance would cover the additional appointment. I'm telling you--they are the BEST!
