Anative of the Merrimack Valley, DrAlbert Sandler was bornat Lawrence General Hospital. While growing up in Medford, MA, Dr Sandler spent his childhood summers on Arlington Pond In North Salem, NH. Since the age of 9, Dr Sandler had a strong interest in medicine. DrSandler knew he wanted to be a dentistearly in high school because he loved to work with his hands.After graduating from Medford High School in 1977, Dr Sandler received a B.A. in Biology from Brandeis University in 1981. Meeting his wife Dr Sarah Finne in dental school, Dr Sandler graduatednear the top of his class at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1985 achieving High Honors in Biochemistry and Physiology. Upon completing a General Practice Residency program at Sinia Hospital of Baltimore, MDin 1986, Dr Sandler yearned to return to this area where he had spent his childhood summers. Living his dream, Dr Albert Sandler hasenjoyed practicing in Methuen, MA since 1986. Dr Sandler opened his own private practice in 1994 at369 Merrimack Street,Methuen MA. In June 2017, the practice was relocated down the street to a brand new, state of the art facility at 386 Merrimack Street.
Dr Sandler 's quest is to'first-relieve pain, second-remove all oral disease, and third-rebuild beautiful healthy smiles.' This is accomplished through compassionate, gentle, meticulous dental care with a strong emphasis on prevention through personalized patient education. A continuing education junkie, Dr Albert Sandler prides himself on taking 4 to 5 times the minimum requirement for MA state licensure. Dr Sandler alsoserves as a clinical instructor to Northern Essex CommunityCollege's (NECC) Dental Assisting Program, is on the Advisory boards of three dental assisting/dental hygiene/dental lab programs at NECC, Middlesex CC, and Shawsheen Voc/Tech HS, is Cochair of the Mass Dental Society Dental Practice and Benefits Committee, and is Chair-elect of the Merrimack Valley Dental District Society. Dr Sandler also is proud to serve, as product reviewer, the nationally reknowned Clinician's Report out of Provo, Utah, performing field research of dental materials with 450 other dentists worldwide.
When Dr Albert Sandler is not in the office, he served 9 years as the founding president of the non-profit Friends of Big Island Pond, on the Board of Directors for the non-profit Big Island Pond Corporation since 1991, a past-president and presently Hazzan since 1994 at Etz Hayim Synagogue in Derry,NH , and is a Justice of the Peace in the state of NH officiating over 25 weddings including many interfaith marriages. Dr Sandler loves to spend time on Big Island Pond in Hampstead,NH with his wife Sarah, and their daughters Erin, Alyson, and Jessica, swimming, kayaking, trail biking, boating,and especially waterskiing.
In 1982 Paula started her career in dentistry as a dental assistant, graduating from Boston University. She continued her studies receiving her Associates Degree in dental hygiene from Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in 1984. In 1998 Paula joined the practice of Dr Albert Sandler in Methuen, MA. In 2007, Paula received her license to administer local anesthesia as a Registered Dental Hygienist for periodontal treatment. In her free time Paula enjoys biking, running, walking her dog, and spending time rooting for the Patriots with her family.
Ivanka started her career in dentistry as a dental assistant, graduating from Northern Essex Dental Assisting program in 1998.She continued her studies receiving her associate degree in dental hygiene from Middlesex Community College in 2004. Ivanka joined the practice in 2005. In 2007 she received her license to administer local anesthesia as a registered dental hygienist for periodontal treatment. In her free time, Ivanka enjoys vacationing with her family and is an avid gym member.
Alyssa started her interest in dentistry when she was a junior in high school, which was in 2003 when she came to Dr. Sandlers office to shadow. From there, Alyssa attended dental hygiene school at the University of Bridgeport, graduating in 2006 with an Associates of dental hygiene. Alyssa continued her studies and completed her Bachelors of Biology from the University of Connecticut, graduating in 2009. Alyssa has been filling in at Dr. Sandlers office since then, but permanently joined the practice in 2017. Alyssa is excited to work as part of Dr. Sandlers team and feels proud of the quality of care Dr. Sandler and his team provides. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
A graduate of the Northern Essex Community College Dental Assisting Program in 2003, Sarah actually started working with Dr. Albert Sandler in Methuen, MA in the fall of 2002, the year she started the program. Sarah has been a Certified Dental Assistant since 2003. In 2006, Sarah attained her certification in dental assisting for oral conscious sedation with DOCS, the organization for Doctors for Oral Conscious Sedation. 'I love what I do and there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a patient that is happy at the end of their dental visit. Every year I enjoy participating in continuing education classes so that I am up to date with recent technologies and products. I hold a high respect for the quality of work that Dr. Sandler provides to his patients. Also, my family and I have been patients of Dr. Albert Sandler since I was an adolescent, always having a wonderful experience.'
Kara graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2004 with a BA in Child Development. Kara loves working with children, first as a developmental specialist in an early intervention program and later as an office coordinator for a Salem, NH pediatric medical practice. Kara joined the practice in 2013 as a financial coordinator and quickly ascended to office manager. Kara strives to help patients with any concerns or issues they may have with scheduling, billing, and insurance. In her spare time, Kara loves spending time with her family and recreating in upstate NH.
Clarissa graduated with a Certificate from the Northern Essex Community College Accredited Dental Assisting Program in 2014 and subsequently received her Board Certified Dental Assisting License. She joined our team in December of 2014 and while working for Dr. Sandler, she has continued her education at NECC to receive an Associates in Health Specialization in 2016. She takes pride in making patients feel comfortable and at home when receiving dental treatment in our office. I love working with the friendly team at Dr. Sandlers and appreciate the highest quality of care the whole team provides for our patients. Clarissa enjoys attending continuing education classes and expanding her knowledge of the newest advances in dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, kayaking, and spending quality time with her family.
