Dr. Susie Sawin, or as she is known in the practice, Dr. Susie, graduated from IU School of Dentistry in 1989. After graduation, she worked for the US Public Health Services on the Navajo Reservation for three years, before coming home to Columbus to practice with her father.

Dr. Susie's husband, David Kadlec, is an artist and environmental activist. She lives with David, two dogs, one cat, and many chickens in rural Bartholomew County in an energy-efficient home. She has two sons who are in college.

Dr. Luciana Kano-Wilson, or as she is known in the practice, Dr. 'Luc', is glad to have returned to her hometown of Columbus! After graduating from Columbus North HS in 2001, she went to Indiana University in Bloomington, IN where she studied Biology and received her undergraduate BS degree in 2005. She attended dental school and received her DDS degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2009.

Dr. Luc and her husband Reuben moved back to Columbus in 2009 and have two daughters and a son. She also has a furry daughter named Hoshi, a Bernedoodle. She is fluent in Japanese, Spanish, and Portuguese. She enjoys baking, reading, and biking.

Dr. Uma Arunkumar, or as she is knowin in the practice, Dr. Uma, comes to us with truly a world of experience. Her dental education was done at the Nair Hospital Dental College in Mumbai, India. After 3 years of dental practice in India, Dr. Uma and her husband Arun moved to the US. Dr. Uma completed her American doctorate from Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2006.

After graduation from Boston University, Dr. Uma practiced dentistry in Seymour, IN at the Jackson County Community Health Center for 3 years. Work then took Dr. Uma and her family to Cookeville, TN, and Dr. Uma worked in a private practice for 5 years until work again moved the family, this time to Brazil. For her year and a half in Brazil, Dr. Uma took time to volunteer with dental and community organizations and spend time with her daughter.

Amy graduated from a dental assisting program in Illinois. She resides in Columbus with her husband. Amy has three adult children and five grandchildren. While she is not working, Amy enjoys her swimming pool and spending time with her family, especially her sweet grandchildren.

Karen graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry with a degree in dental hygiene. Karen grew up in Columbus, IN and continues to live there with her husband. She has two adult children and one daughter-in-law.

Jackiehas been a dental hygienist at Sandcrest Dental since 2008. She is agraduate of Bloomington High School North and Indiana University School of Dentistry. Jackie resides in Batesville with her husband Matt and two daughters, When not at the office, you can find Jackie spending time supporting her daughters in their sports and school activities.

Dr. Susie has been my and my husband's dentist for more than a decade, and it has been an exceptional experience. She has a gentle, warm-hearted presence about her and she provides dental care with that same gentle grace and sensitivity to pain and my fears. I'm squeamish about dental care. I would recommend Dr. Susie without reservation based on her consistently excellent care of our dental health, her attention to details, the way she respects patient concerns and input and her knowledge and ability to share her expertise in ways that I can understand. But Dr. Susie's genuine compassion just puts her over-the-top. I once had a dental emergency during non-work hours and she went above and beyond to help me through my discomfort. I could not ask for more. Or for a better dentist.

Broke a previous filling and Dr. Uma was able to get me in on the same day. She did a great job and made sure I was comfortable the whole time!

I love the doctors and the dental assistants. Been going for years. However, I recently discovered a really big issue. I have had a lot of work done over many years. It's always the best and quality care. However I get my bill and I just pay it. Never really paying attention. I trusted them. 700-1200 bills whatever pay it. Well this time I looked at the charges. I finally opened an insurance statement showing how much they had been billed, how much they paid, and how much I was responsible for. Boy where the numbers way way different! I was being billed for $700 that my insurance paid. I have no idea how long this went on for, but I know it was for least 3 years after getting records from insurance. I should have never paid a bill over $500 and my last 4 bills where in the 4 digits. The lady in charge of billing seemed to be quiet upset with me trying to clear up this bill. I finally got the items my insurance paid removed after taking in proof, but then my payments stopped showing on my bills. Which I got yelled at for asking why they we sending a statement showing I hadn't made any payment on it. I love this dentist, but they need someone competent in billing. please people keep your records. Check what your insurance pays and what your asked to pay *after insurance is applied. I wish I could go back, but I feel so sad. I just trusted them for so long.
