Theres a reason people keep coming to Allen Kirby, DDS. Thats because there is great satisfaction in going to a dentist you know and trust. He has been practicing for over 17 years. His care and concern for patients has brightened thousands of smiles.

Highly-committed to mastery in the latest in dental techniques and innovations, Dr. Kirby has continued to pursue the education he began many years ago at The University of Alabama where he majored in Biology. He went on to extend his education, receiving his doctorate from The University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN. Dr Kirby then completed a General Practice Residency program at Great Lakes Naval Hospital. Hes an active member of the American Dental Association and the Dental Board of Alabama.

Dr. Kirby grew up in Albertville and returned after his education and serving in the US Navy. He has a wife Kristy, and two children. Outside the office, he enjoys duck hunting, snow skiing, water skiing and Alabama Football in his free time.

Desiree Green graduated from Boaz High School and started her dental career at Wallace State Community College, receiving her dental hygiene degree in 2001. She has been a hygienist with Dr. Kirby since 2003. In her spare time, Desiree enjoys spending time with her husband Nick and their two children. Giving her patients the best dental care with a personal touch is Desirees top priority.

Angela Claborn has been with Dr. Kirby and staff since 1999. She received her dental hygiene license in 2002 from the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alabama Birmingham. She splits her time in the office between working as an assistant and hygienist. Angela and her husband Kyle have three very active children who keep Mom and Dad very busy. She especially enjoys seeing how excited patients are about their new smiles and how it can really transform their confidence. Angela feels privileged to work with a team of professionals who all work together to make the patients dental experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

Rebecca Woods started her career as a dental assistant right here at Sand Mountain Dentistry in 2012. She will begin the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alabama Birmingham in July of 2014. She is excited for her future with her new husband Spencer, and she is looking forward to the new experiences her dental hygiene degree will bring.

Ciara Shadinger is a West End High School graduate. She earned her dental hygiene degree from the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Ciara has more than 20 years experience and has been with Dr. Kirby and staff since 2001. Ciara and her husband Keith have four children. They are active members of Aurora Missionary Baptist Church. Ciara is passionate about spreading dental education and providing oral health presentations to local schools. She values her relationships with her patients and really enjoys being part of the awesome team here at Sand Mountain Dental Care.

Lynn Medders has been working in dentistry for more than 32 years. She received her dental hygiene degree from the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alabama Birmingham in 1991 and has been a hygienist with Dr. Kirby since 1999. Lynn has been married to her husband Norman for 31 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Lauren and Andrea, one fur-baby, Toby Mac, and one wonderful son-in-law, Mack. Lynn is an active member of Union First Congregational Methodist Church in Boaz, AL. In her spare time she likes to cook, crochet, paint and exercise. God has given Lynn a love for special needs patients, and she currently cares for several in our practice. She has been able to create special bonds with these patients and their families through the years.

Linda Kirby is Dr. Kirbys mother and is the matriarch of the Kirby Family.he is married to Tommy and has three grandchildren which she really enjoys spoiling. Linda was born and raised in Albertville and worked in the accounting department at Bowater Lumber for 33 years. The sawmill closed down and she tried to retire and stay home but soon realized she needed something to keep her busy. She began working at the practice in the fall of 2010 and has really enjoyed her daily interactions with the staff and many patients she helps. While working as collections manager has its challenges she finds it very rewarding to see the joy dentistry can have in peoples lives and know she was a part of the process.
