A Spirit Lake, IA native, Dr. Boelter graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1980. Following graduation, he moved to Sanborn to set up a new dental practice and has completed his 41st year of dentistry in Northwest Iowa. Dr. Boelter enjoys all phases of dentistry, especially implants, cosmetic dentistry, and root canal therapy.

In his personal life, Dr. Boelter and his wife, Jill, have five children. Nick, his wife Neena, three-year-old son, Ashton, and new baby Ayden, live in Irvine, California; Ali, her husband, Dan, their five-year-old daughter Audrey, and two-year-old son, Elliot, live in Okoboji, Iowa; Jake lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Halie and her husband live in St. Louis, Missouri; and Kate lives in Des Moines, Iowa. Away from the office, Dr. Boelter and his wife enjoy golf, boating, and family vacations. He is actively involved in several civic organizations.
