Dr. Daniel San Martn was born and raised in San Antonio. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1999 and continued his education at the University of Texas at Austin where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2003. He began his dental education at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston and received his Doctor in Dental Surgery in 2009. He followed up his DDS with an Orthodontic residency and completed his Master of Science in Dentistry and certificate in Orthodontics in 2011. He and his wife Lauren love the growing community surrounding the office, getting away to the hill country and spending time with friends and family. They have been married since 2012, have a son and Vizsla named Ruggles. Dr. San Martn is very happy to be back in San Antonio, serving the community that raised him.
The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), founded in 1929, is the oldest and most prestigious specialty board in dentistry. The ABOs aim is to elevate the standards of the practice of orthodontia, to familiarize the public with its aim and ideals, and to protect the public against irresponsible and unqualified practitioners.
In order to become board certified, an orthodontist has to have passed a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations, as well as a comprehensive review of their credentials. The initial process of becoming board certified can take anywhere from five to ten years. Once certified, the orthodontist must become recertified every ten years in order to maintain board-certified status.
A board-certified orthodontist, also known as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, has been voluntarily examined by his/her peers according to knowledge and clinical skills. Becoming board certified signifies the orthodontists pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in orthodontics.

We have started our 12 year old braces & everything is going great. They are great at explaining everything that is needed. My daughter is very sensitive but Dr. Martin is taking care of her very professionally. I would strongly recommend them to anyone! :)

Our consultation went well. Taylor was super friendly and happy to answer questions. The doctor clearly knew what he was doing; I didn't once second guess my choice. Front desk help and reception area is great! They do take insurance, but if your insurance doesn't cover braces, they can work with you on private pay with an installment plan. Fun fact: they do a drawing at the end of the month for a $50 gift card. Ask them about it!

Dr. San Martin is so patient and knowledgeable!! We have had an excellent experience thus far. Our daughter got her habit breaker and braces installed back in October and we are very pleased with the progress of her pearly whites. Her front teeth had been pushed pretty far out of place with the thumb sucking and now they are looking straight and in line. The price of her ortho work is very reasonable. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Appointments are painless and we rarely have to wait.

THE BEST ORTHODONTIST I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE! Seriously so impressed with the ethical integrity and operational efficiency of San Martin Orthodontics. I would never choose another place! Have two kiddos going to San Martin orthodontics and they have been great! Love the personal feeling of the office and that the staff and dr remember us every time and don't feel like I'm one of many going through the door. They are great with the kids and always answer their questions so that they understand what is going on and what to expect. Would highly recommend!

Dr. San Martin and his team are awesome. Our initial consult was very straightforward and the service investment was the most reasonably priced compared to other offices we visited for the same comprehensive services. The patient experience has been nothing but genuine and welcoming. At check in, the team strives to greet their patients by name and takes a genuine interest in their dental health and overall well-being. Our daughter appreciates being greeting by name by smiling faces as she walks into the office and she feels like she is in good hands when Dr. San Martin and/or his team are caring for her teeth. From the moment you walk in every one greets you by name and they make you feel so comfortable. I never wait long in the waiting room and when I get to the chair I'm greeted right away. It's an open area with other stations but it's not ever crowded or to loud. I feel really comfortable that I also took my 13 year old daughter to get her second set of braces. She was very worried because her first experience at another place was not so great. Dr. San Martin is very gentle and patient and has put her anxiety at ease about seeing the orthodontist.
