Dr. Hurt has spent30 years practicing dentistry in the North County of San Diego. He has extensive experience in most areas of treatment including cosmetic dentistry, laser whitening, laser surgery, implants, root canal therapy, treatment of periodontal disease, crown and bridge work, dentures and surgery for simple and more complicated extractions such as wisdom teeth. His training allows us to provide treatment for almost any dental emergency and our use of conscious sedation techniques allows us to put those patients who fear dentistry at ease prior to and during their visit.
Dr. Hurt has three sons, one attending Arizona State University and two that have graduated from University of Southern California & Northern Arizona University. They enjoy sports, especially the ocean. Theyre all certified Lifeguards with Professional CPR/AED certifications and Certified SCUBA divers as well.
Although born in Iowa, Dr. Hurt has lived in most areas of the United States because his dad was a pilot in the Air Force and an Instructor for United Air Lines. This gives Dr. Hurt the unique opportunity of relating to his patients wherever theyre from. We also have a very international staff that speak Spanish, Russian, Tagalog , Vietnamese as well as English so communication barriers are rarely an issue.

Even though you don't want to, if you have to go to the dentist, it may as well be these people. I went once and will go again the next time I don't want to go to the dentist.

Been a patient for years now. Always a pleasure going here. The staff is friendly and they make you feel like family. Saturday appointment availability is also great for those who cannot make it during the work week.

So i call to make an appointment for cleaning the girl at the front desk was nice answering my questions, Maria told me I was going to pay $149 for the cleaning,. When I got there another lady was asking for $350 dollars supposedly adding additional services that I didn't request.. I believe that's ridiculous..

Such an amazing, warm, family atmosphere. All the office staff treat you with such genuine friendliness. Dr. Hurt is a highly skilled and outstanding dentist. He takes great care in the treatment of his patients, and inspires trust and confidence. Five stars are not nearly enough...this practice deserves a perfect 10.

The entire staff is absolutely amazing. I came here based on a referral for an emergency issue. WoW .... the customer service, relations, and professionalism just impressed me. Dr. Hurt is amazing! Don't be afraid of the name. He is far from someone that would hurt you. He takes extra care to be sure you are not in pain. He impressed me with his willingness to share his HONEST observation of some issues he spotted and shared his suggestions for FUTURE care. This really impressed me because I didn't feel like he was pushy or doing a hard sell. I came in as an emergency patient but I will say that should the opportunity with insurance be made available for me in the future, I WOULD BE HIS PATIENT on a regular basis. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND San Marcos Dental. They work as a team but are more like family.
