I have worked in the dental field for over 40years. The majority of that time was spent in oral surgery. I worked as an assistant for 18 years before shifting into the practice administration role. I find general dentistry more rewarding because we help patients achieve their dental goals and help them feel good about their smile. The impact this has on a persons life is its reward.
Going to the dentist as a child was always such a great experience. I have always wanted a career where I would be helping others. I felt that the dental field could be both fun and rewarding at the same time. Everyday we have the opportunity to help our patients either feel better and/or look better by fulfilling their dental needs. Dentistry has definitely been the right career choice for me.
My interest in dentistry began at an early age when I went to the dentist. I was curious about all the tools the dentist used. By the time I was in the eighth grade, I had decided to be a dental hygienist. After that nothing distracted me from my goal. Dental hygiene is a profession that suits my personality. The relationship with the patients keeps me encouraged. I wouldnt want to do anything else.
I have been in dentistry for over 25 years and I absolutely love it! Many of those years were spent working chairside as an assistant. To me, helping our patients achieve their dental goals is what it's all about. I am so happy to be back in Jacksonville with my San Marco Dentistry family!
I absolutely love what I do! Being in the dental field for over 13 years has been an amazing journey. It's very rewarding to see patients excited about their new and improved smile. Helping them understand the importance of a healthy mouth is my number one priority.
I have worked as a Dental Hygienist since 2001 and enjoy the relationships I form with my patients. It brings me great joy to provide quality dental care while keeping my patients comfortable during treatment. I strive to educate and encourage so that everyone can have a healthy smile.

We'll I've changed my opinion on this dentistry. The staff at the front desk do not seem to care when you're in pain or feel the need to be helpful at all. I came in with INTENSE tooth pain and they didn't care in the least, I asked for a Tylenol or an ice pack and they said they couldn't do anything. That would require them to stand for more than 30 seconds which I'm sure is difficult for them. They then proceeded to set up an appointment with an orthopedic specialist 2 weeks away who was OUTSIDE OF MY INSURANCE NETWORK. To take advantage of someone in pain and send them to someone who I'm assuming is in partnership or something of the like, instead of someone who is in network. Shows me everything I need to know. I will say the 2 stars is for the girls who clean teeth. Might be the only decent people here. My original review w/5 stars: The staff here is great I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time and was very nervous. They made me feel very comfortable and did great work!

I've never enjoyed my experience at the dentist, but I really loved San Marco Dentistry. The staff is so kind and made me feel really comfortable. I definitely recommend this office. :) Thank you

This is an exceptional dental office! My husband and I choose this office, after doing some lengthy research...and we are so glad we did. My first interaction was with Aimie, she was very efficient and helpful. They were all very professional and accommodating. Dr Howard was very thorough and professional. I would highly recommend this office...

At the suggestion of a friend who is a regular patient there, I went to get a second opinion when another dentist told me I needed a crown and a filling. Dr. Howard did a careful exam and x-rays of the area, and confirmed my suspicions that the work the other dentist had recommended was totally unnecessary. It would have been very easy for Dr. Howard to play along and claim that I needed the work, but he took the high road and did not try to sell me dentistry I did not need. I will be a regular patient of his from now on!

Went for first time yesterday. Was very pleased with how friendly and efficient everyone was. The cleaning and exam were very thorough. Communication beforehand making the appointment and getting records from prior dentist was great. Amie made the process very smooth.

I walked in with NO appointment, and probably a wreck due to thinking my front tooth was going to die then fall out. They got me back for a X-Ray, and to see the dentist in less than 20 minutes! I was in and out no joke within 35!! With all questions answered, reassurance that it was a surface chip, and that I had nothing to worry about. I have never been so at ease so quickly. The staff was friendly, and made me feel like I mattered. I think I've found my new home!

I had a dental emergency at 8pm and left a VM for the staff. They were incredibly prompt in responding the following morning (both via a call and text) and had 2 time options available first thing. I found that not only did the front desk staff take this seriously, the doctor and team were kind and fastidious in their craft. If you need dentist, this team is old school in their customer-centric demeanor.

Everyone is very personable. They make you feel like they are glad you are there. Very professional but yet very engaging. The exams are detailed and they explain them well. No pressure on any future or possible dental procedures. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new dentist.

My first experience at San Marco Dentistry was nothing short of stellar. A very professional and personable hygienist worked with me to get oral X-rays then proceeded to do an excellent job with my teeth cleaning. The doctor came in thereafter and introduced himself and did his exam. For those a bit nervous at the dentist, this establishment is perfect for guiding patients through care and making them feel comfortable. A few days later, I received a handwritten letter from Dr. Howard thanking and welcome me. What great service!

Love this place, super friendly staff, everyone was amazing and super nice. I never look forward to going to the dentist, but I always feel amazing when I leave San Marko Dentistry. The hygienist did an amzing job with my sensitive teeth while cleaning, I was super appreciative. I would definitely recommend this place.
