Visits to the dentist has never been pleasant for me, so I checked Yelp and read the reviews. After reading all the reviews on Yelp, I decided to take the plunge and contact Dr. Defaii. I was able to get an appointment quickly and Dr. Defaii did a thorough examination after which he explained the treatment in as much detail as possible and was kind enough to answer 100s of questions patiently :). Throughout the treatment, he and his staff were very easy to work with. If you need any dental work, I highly recommend Dr. Defaii and his office.

Granted, the very first visit was necessary, but afterwards I realized that these "follow up appointments" we're not really necessary; especially since I had no insurance and paying $300+ out of pocket at each visit. My last visit, I was told to come in every 2 months, which is where I finally drew the line because I just can't afford that. All this time, I could've used that money to help out my mom with her bills. But because I didn't know better, I blew them all on unnecessary cleanings while getting berated for not flossing often just because my gums hurt. After I stopped going, I realized how predatory my whole experience was. Now I can never trust another dentist...

I was so nervous at first since I haven't been at a dentist for years. However, Dr.Defaeii is a really expert dentist and you can tell easily when he's working on your teeth how experienced his hands are. The precision and fellow of his work is admirable. That follows with smooth and relaxing procedure so I felt nothing at all. And he wraps it up so quick which I think again it comes from years of experience that he knows exactly what and how things need to be done. My confident and trust in him grown quickly over time that I trust him 100% now. I found him totally random through some online searching and I'm glad the universe always sends it's bests to me! His staff are also so nice and friendly and they are really really good to follow up and make sure you get to the appointment and don't miss it!!!

I have seen several dentists before and Dr. Defaii is the best!! Did a replacement crown today , fast, efficient and caring. He has done many crowns for me with such perfection. I love my smile and will not see anyone else. I truly trust him and he will always take care of me. The assistants are kind and he is so respectful in guiding them. He even calls later on in the day to see how you're doing. I give him two thumbs up. You won't be disappointed

Came to this office from a Groupon offer in 2016. Everyone was very nice, but I noticed Dr. Defaii kept mentioning that things like the gas were free of charge. Sort of strange but I didn't think much of it. I had not been to the dentist for a bit and was told I had 2 cavities. I figured he was probably right so I had him take care of them. Shortly after my wife came in and was told she had 4 cavities the only thing is my wife's teeth were filled and years before to avoid cavities by a family member who happened to be a dentist. She didn't believe him. Turns out the next 2 dentists she saw confirmed nope no cavities. Either he was looking at the wrong x rays or he was running a shady operation. I would stay away who knows what he's been up to.

Dr. Defaii is a great dentist. During each procedure he conducts with a calm and precise manner. I feel very comfortable under his hands during procedure. His staff are helpful as well.

Wonderful experience, Dr. Defaii is the best dentist I ever met. I feel so regretful, I haven't found him earlier. My previous dentist never told me details about my gum problem, just go straightly to treatments. luckily, I have Dr. Defaii now, he won't miss any details, explained my situation and also taught me how to take care of my gum. The dental cleaning is very awesome also with economic and practical price. I am looking forward to seeing Dr.Defaii again for following treatment.

Because of his depth of experience, he was able to correct the condition in one visit for a fraction of the cost through the use of bonding techniques. Due to lack of prerequisite training and necessary aesthetic talent, this is a cosmetic dentistry skill that few dentist today possess

I have been going to this dental office for the last 20 years. Dr. Defaii and the hygienists are very thorough, and the office staff are very friendly and professional. I have always had a pleasant experience in particular these days with the COVID protocols. I highly recommend Dr. Defaii.

I cannot be more happy of my results from San Jose Smile Center. In the past, I was never fully happy of my smile. As an adult I've tried many methods to try to correct the little gaps that seem big to me. A lot of previous doctors turned me away saying my desired look could not be achieved so I was left with dealing with what I thought to be an less than perfect smile. I wasn't until I met Dr. Defaii that I felt that my request was achievable. His knowledge and passion for results really shown in each visit and every time I left the office I felt cared for. His staff is amazing and you can tell they all lead with grace and compassion. Dr. Defaii was able to fill my gaps and gave me the smile I've always wanted. I'm so grateful for him and his staff. I cried for days after because the insecurities behind my smile were gone. I highly recommend San Jose Smile Center for all your dental needs.

I am one of those people that are usually terrified of dentists, since I've had not so great experience with them in the past. But ever since I started visiting Dr.Defaii, my fears are practically gone, he is clearly a very experienced dentist that truly cares about wellbeing and comfort of his patients. My first visit was for extraction of a very inflamed and painful tooth, I was shaking only from the thought of touching the tooth at all, but Dr. Defaii offered me gas sedation that was very affordable and truly made a huge difference for me, besides, he gave me a numbing shot that was absolutely painless and I was truly shocked by how fast and officiant the procedure went. I couldn't be more happy with my dental visits and I am very relieved to finally find a dentist that I trust.

My first time there and just let me start by saying dr. Defaii and his staff are amazing from being of appointment I've never felt more comfortable and informed they let you know everything and make sure you understand before starting anything..I had a deep cleaning an tooth extracted after appointment he even followed up with me on the phone to see how i was feeling highly recommended

I haven been going to this place for over 5 years now. Great service throughout those years. This included not just check ups and exams but major work including a root canal. Easy recommendation.

Typically I'm not one to write reviews, however the service I've received here may help people who are just like. To begin, I'm very timid when it comes to any sort of dental work, from the buzzing drill to the shot. However, Dr. Defaii and his assistant precilla we on some next level treatment/service. It doesn't feel like you're walking into a regular dentist office it feels like you're going to somebody's house because of how hospitable they are, constantly asking if you're doing fine or if you need anything. The procedure I had done was deep cleaning, and a filling, the whole process was just as amazing, Dr. Defaii keeps you informed as to what is going on throughout and it makes the service so much more comforting. I'm not sure if this will make sense to some people but there are some dentist out there with rough hands when they're in there doing what they're doing, that is not the case here, Dr. Defaii is super gentle. My only regret was not finding this office sooner but I'm glad I have.

I needed serious dental work and had pushed visiting the dentist for longer than I should have (injection of anesthetic and the drill noise make me nervous) I luckily found Dr. Defaii and his awesome team during the pandemic. At the time I was simply thrilled to find a Dr. admitting new patients but now after 3 visits or so I can genuinely say I am fortunate to have found Dr. Defaiis care. I appreciate his attention and support and have enjoyed his cheerful voice when I've called to confirm appointments. I can see he is dedicated to his practice, team and patients.
