I have been practicing Dentistry for 28 years and my emphasis has always been QUALITY for my patients. My practice aims to provide the best dental care in the business by utilizing years of experience and cutting-edge dental technology such as the Galileos 3D imaging system, endodontic microscope, and CEREC technology. I practice the full scope of dentistry with many of our specialists including Implantologist, Periodontist, Orthodontist, Endodontist, Oral Surgeon, Prosthodontist, and Sedation specialist to accommodate everyones needs. When it comes to quality time outside of the office, I absolutely enjoy spending time with my family recognizing and maintaining a good work/life balance.

Each of our doctors focuses in one or two areas of dentistry: from comprehensive exams and dental regular cleanings to filling restorations to root canal therapy and crowns and bridge placement, as well as teeth removal and both partial and full denture appliances
For periodontics and implants, the Practice is proud to have Dr. Jamie Chung who graduated from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) which is one of the premier dental schools in the world. It was here that she fell in love with the science, biology, and excitement of periodontics. She continued her passion for periodontics at the prestigious Harvard University, School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. It was here that she conducted extensive clinical research in periodontology both at Harvard and the Forsyth Institute. During her years at Harvard, she received vigorous clinical training from the top clinicians and researchers in the world. She also found time to publish multiple scientific studies in a number of dental journals. Furthermore, Dr. Chung has presented her research at various national and international meetings and is viewed as a leader by her peers.
Our team is also privileged to have an endodontist, Dr. Sooyoung Kim who received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She earned her certificate in Endodontics at UCSF. She is proficient in Microscopic Endodontics. Prior to her training in dentistry, she had received her Bachelor of Science degree at MIT and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University.
For Orthodontics, we are very excited to have Dr. Michael Simontacchi-Gbologah, who earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He continued on at the University of Pennsylvania, serving as Chief Resident during his post-doctoral Orthodontic residency. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, mountain biking, hiking, and being active. He is dedicated to his profession and passionate about working with his patients. His goal as a clinician is not only to create beautiful, functional and healthy smiles but also to build mentor-ships with his patients and serve as a positive and uplifting voice in their lives
Furthermore, for our oral surgery team, we are delighted to have Dr. Michael Schuman, an oral surgeon. He graduated from NYU College of Dentistry and received his specialty program at Bellevue Hospital Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Program in New York City. He specializes in surgical removal of impacted wisdom teeth, placement of dental implants to replace missing teeth, bone grafting to increase the amount of bone in the jaw, removal of cysts and tumors, repairs facial injuries and fractures, laser surgery and the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. He also had extensive training in general anesthesia or IV anesthesia and had over 30 years of experience. His highest priorities are excellent results and optimal patient comfort and convenience.
I strongly believe practice makes perfect. After a thorough comprehensive exam, our patients are scheduled according to treatment and with a doctor specializing in that treatment. Although all of our doctors are trained and competent in all of the general procedures and treatment, in our office, they are allowed to focus in the area of their interest and area of expertise.

In our continuing efforts to provide the best dental care, our office has been remodeled with the newest and the latest state of the art technology. We feel new technology is critical to optimize patient care as well as patient comfort. We are equipped with the latest technology 3D imaging system called Galileos and CEREC technology, which fabricates ceramic dental restorations in about one hour, allowing patients to have a permanent crown in one visit! All of our patient rooms are equipped with Dexis digital Radiography Sensor System and the best Intra- Oral camera on the market. Along with this, we have incorporated Guru, a patient education digital software system in each room, so that our patients can sit and relax while viewing educational videos during their visits. In addition, we added a patient education software by Dolphin Aquarium and Dolphin imaging system for all our orthodontic patients. Also, we have a new laser machine, the WaterLase by Biolase, which enables doctors to perform various procedures without anesthesia.
In addition to offering the highest quality in digital computer equipment, we also use the leading brand name materials for all our procedures. For our implant patients, we offer the implants by BIOMET 3i Implant Innovations, Inc and Ankylosis by Dentsply, which are considered the best by the dental field. I know Dr. Kim for OVER 10 yearsss and this my first time I'm give review because its not easy old woman using the internet and go on Yelp. Have to remember password, have to call somebody and then she may yelling at me is alot of stress for me. "Mom, I'm busy rn!" "Mom I'm on Europe" "Mom, the yacht is not have Wi-Fi!"That okay, well I figure it out no thanks to somebody, Don't worry... I'm not gonna say your name in the public. This office have parking space is big HUGE, Mama Mai can find space very fast and don't have to worry about will my car got tow away or have to pay for valet. At my old Doctor Mama Mai remember I have to drive around and around and me and another lady see the same space at the same time. She looking at me and I'm looking at her and we both slowly squeeze into parking! OMG we fight over who come first! I can not fight a parking lot lady today. I am shopping for ONE implant NOT FOUR, that is not right KaKaKa. Also I just buy Jamba Juice and don't know how long fight can take, maybe I come back and it's all melt. My new doctor office is very comfortable waiting room and never have to wait long. He is not the kind of Doctor that look at you and walk a way because you have no insurance he will give you special treatment and make you a deal-you will like it. Make you feel more comfortable to go there! They are very kind and compassionate. I have my implant for 8 years and it still work like brand new. I can chew on chicken bone or ice cube and bite apple like I am 20 years old! KaKaKaI trusted his staff, for deep cleaning, I did white teeth too, but my problem is I keep drinking coffee in the morning so not really white like all my friends, that's okay, I found out they did it there too Orthodontist, root canal therapy, periodontic, Implant, endodontist, oral surgery, his staff is strong they are real professional. All of them team work responsible very careful and patient that is why I have never feel NO pain whenever I go here I hope Dr. Kim and his Staff is have a long life because Mama Mai is plan to take my grandchild there even they hand is shaking shaking I know they still THE BEST number 1 KaKaKa. Don't worry, It is a nice place, clean and neat, staff friendly treat you like family no rush at all, try it, walk-in and walkout with happy face trust me my friends and fans

Please avoid going here. I have been to many dentists and never had any issues with insurance or bills before . This place is worse. I went to there for consult. I have two dental insurance and asked their office again and again if they are in network. They did some x-ray when I was there and I asked them if it's covered and they said yes again. I was charged $800 by my insurance as they are not covering the type of X-ray they did. The front desk lady says she is manager and gives you wrong information. Initially she said she will waive the fee and then later on said it was only if I paid that day. She said I can't even complain about her behavior as she is the manager! Please don't to this dentist.

I would definitely like to suggest NOT to go to the dental office as their arrangement, unhelpful administrative staff and the collection manager would make you crazy. I needed to fix my front teeth as it was broken in late of Jun 2021. I made an appointment with the administrative staff for the first time, and they asked me to make appointment for the next visit every time. However, they just gave you an assistant to have X-ray, ask questions, update their computer data most of the time, I couldn't know when they would start normal procedure for the crown building after four times visit (7/16, 7/17, 8/19, 8/20). I was angry as they never consider your time, situation and your need. What they concern is their money making only as they charged both of my insurance companies consultation fee on 8/19 & 8/20. Honestly speaking, I don't know what they have consulted me! I felt disappointed at their collection procedures and their unreasonable charge fee too. I gave them my two insurance companies' information and they told me I need to pay $300 out of my pocket, which I had paid using credit card on 9/2 & 9/16. But about 10 days ago, I received their bill with amount in total $3,958 without any communication in advance. Oh...it is unbelievable at all! I gave them a call immediately about this, and they told me that collection manager was not here, blah blah...... it seems like it is YOU who needs to find out what's going on or pay it. During that weekend, I found out that one of my insurance company didn't send the checks to the dental office instead they sent to me directly with my name on it, I deposited them and then brought a personal check with the claimed amount to the dental clinic the next Monday. However, when we arrived at about 11:30am, the administrative staff told us (my husband and me) that they couldn't take this check and asked us to wait for one hour for the collection manager...WooW, they would be always asking you to wait wait wait.....no matter what that is about?! Well, about 40 mins passed, the collection manager appeared and she rejected taking my check saying it's their company's policy. Anyway, my husband proposed to pay by credit card or debit card, the collection manager, Alma Ayala asked for 15% additional charge. Oh, why why why? They asked me to pay by cash only... How ridiculous! How can they charge 15% additional charge on payment by credit card this time (I paid $300 on credit card one month before). I explained that I had never been told how I can help them to get the insurance claim about the checks sent to me, I'm here offering friendly help to them. No... the Alma said only cash, whenever you can pay... It was really funny! Do they want to get my money without any track record? Few days after, I called my insurance company, they confirmed that I should deposit the checks they sent to me and write a personal check to dentist with the same total amount. I will not come to the dentist - Jonathan H. Kim again...never! We need to be treated happily and professionally. If you want your life be easier and happier, DO NOT give this dental office your business! DON'T bring unhappiness and trouble to yourself!

I've been going to Dr. Kim's for several years now and recently I had an accident on my Harley where I tried to eat gravel. After some healing, I went to Dr. Kim to see what he could do. We ended up pulling what upper teeth I had left and he had a denture made for me. Wow, I have to say I really didn't want to wear a denture but WOW, they look beautiful and I've learned eat with them. Even Apples, which I couldn't before. Now....with this Covid Pandemic I was very hesitant to go in during these times, but they were constantly cleaning, wiping and spraying everything. Everyone was wearing masks, shields and gloves. I felt very safe there and even have 3 more appts. This Dentist is very professional, has all the latest equipment and can do all at One place. Give them a call, check them out, I Love this Center!!!!

I had an appointment this past weekend to get a dental implant done at San Jose Dentist Specialists Centers. The dental implant specialist, Dr. Chang and dental implant assistant was very very good the treatment was was quick an painless. They made thing easy and smooth. I've been with Dr. Kim since he started his practice over 30 years ago. Staff is very competent and he has specialists (root canal, implants, etc) to handle all my dental issues. Would highly recommend Dr. Kim's practice.

I appreciate the fast service and appointments HOWEVER, be very careful when booking your appointments. Make sure they give you a break down of the cost and make sure your insurance will cover the services first! This place likes to do the procedure first, then send you a big fat bill. If you cancel your appointment you will have to give 24h notice or pay $200. But the catch is they don't tell you how much your procedure will cost until the day of the appointment.
