Our practice philosophy is about treating every child as if they were our own and developing a lasting relationship not only with the patient, but also the parent. Whether were discussing our water whistler and Mr. Thirsty with a twoyearold or reviewing the proper techniques for brushing and flossing with an eighteenyear old before they head off to college, we focus our chairside manner on your child and getting to know them better at each visit. Our goal is to deliver quality care to each patient while fostering habits beginning at age one and continuing into early adulthood. With ourfocus centered on prevention at each visit, we teach patients our favorite secret tooth rules to keep a healthy and lasting smilewhat foods, drinks, and habits are integral to maintaining optimum oral health and overall health. With sealants, fluoride, and special toothpaste options, our first goal is to always prevent dental disease before it occurs.
However, if more extensive work is required, such as fillings, crowns, root canals, and extractions, we strive to provide the highest quality dental care possible. To help maintain healthy, esthetic smiles, we try to utilize toothcolored restorations whenever possible. We are also able to offer a variety of behavior management techniques to put your child at ease and have an enjoyable dental experience. Additionally, we screen patients of all ages for orthodontic care at each six month examination.
Not only do we focus our attention on your child, but we also work hard to address parental concerns by explaining each childs unique dental situationwhy and what type of treatment has been planned, and what to expect moving forward. In all aspects, we hope that every patient and parent has a positive experience in our office. We believe that when the child, parent, and dentist actively participate in prevention, a child can stay cavityfree. Great experience every time we go in! The office is always clean and everyone is super nice. We LOVE Dr. Carly! She has such a calm presence to her, which helped my 18 month old stay calm throughout our visit.

Best dental office in North County, bar none. Do your teeth and loved ones a favor by getting a dental cleaning with Leandra. My teeth were sparkling for a week straight! Dr. Hansen's "chairside" manner is first class. She, and the rest of the team, do a wonderful job of making you feel at home and welcomed.

We had such a wonderful appointment with hygienist Gloria and Pediatric Dentist Dr. Carly! My two girls can be very shy and anxious to an extreme degree, and from the minute we walked in the door the staff was working to make them feel comfortable. Everyone went above and beyond to explain things to the girls and took things at a nice slow pace until they felt ready to participate. I honestly could have cried at how nice they were. We were looking for a dentist to give them a positive experience and to help ease anxiety surrounding dental visits and we found that here. We will absolutely be recommending San Elijo Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics to anyone with a nervous child.
