Kurt Christensen, DDS, earned his dental degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry after earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and San Diego County Dental Society, as well as the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. His extensive postgraduate education courses have focused on cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, dental implants, and occlusion (your bite). His most recent training in sleep apnea treatment allows him to provide his patients with alternatives to the CPAP machine to restore restful sleep to their nights.

BevFront Office/Registered Dental Assistant Beverly joined San Diego Smiles in the summer of 2016 as a treatment coordinator. She began her dental career in 2001 as a registered dental assistant. She made the transition to front office full time in 2011, but still loves to work in the clinical setting when she has the opportunity. I love every aspect of dentistry from the science to patient education and treatment. I chose to join this amazing team because they provide excellent quality of care and service. We are all very close; they are like a second family to me. In her spare time, Bev enjoys spending time with her beau and three children, Zumba, and IPA. Not always in that order!
MICHELLERegistered Dental Hygienist Michelle began her dental career in 2006. She started her training here in San Diego at Southwestern College and has also received certification from Advanced Laser Training Incorporated. She finds playing a role in improving patients oral and systemic health through treatment and prophylaxis extremely gratifying, and the fact that the practice is so caring and that patient needs and priorities come first, make working with the team at Dr. Christensens office truly enjoyable. Says Michelle, I love my career as a dental hygienist and I take pride in providing optimal health to patients. Michelle is married and has twins. She enjoys going on family vacations, spending quality time with her friends and family, and appreciating the great outdoors.
ANGIERegistered Dental Hygienist Angie has been in the dental field since 1995. She started as a dental assistant while attending college to become a hygienist. Finding such a compassionate and ethical office such as Dr. Christensens has been a godsend! She enjoys traveling to Europe with her husband and family ski trips with her two boys.
SUERegistered Dental Hygienist Sue went to school in upstate New York for hygiene and has loved dentistry ever since. She makes her patients her top priority, and gives the utmost care. In her free time she keeps herself busy spending time with family, gardening at home, or traveling the world. She loves chocolate and would eat it all the time if she could!
CARLYFront Office/Registered Dental AssistantCarly was born and raised in San Diego, where she attended Mesa College for dental assisting in 2008 and received her RDA license in 2009. There is no comparison to Dr. Christensen and the team to any other office. I really care about my co-workers and our great patients. My main goal is to make sure everyone has a great experience with us and feels like family when they leave. Carly transitioned to the front office in 2014, because she wanted to further expand her skills in the dental field. When she is not at work, she is enjoying her time with friends, family, and her cat MooMoo.
CINDYDental Assistant In the dental industry since 1971, Cindy loves to learn and that is definitely a benefit to our patients! She studied to be a dental assistant at the Pacific College for Medical and Dental Assisting. Now she takes continuing education courses at Grossmont just for fun! In fact, her job feels more like a hobby to her than work, and she loves the people she interacts with on a daily basis. She feels that everyone works together extremely well, better than any other practice she has worked at, and that together, they keep the practice running like a well-oiled machine. I wouldnt change what I do, says Cindy. I love all of it! When she is not at work, she spends as much time with her two children and six grandbabies as she can, enjoying her happy life to the fullest. Her hobbies include bead-working, sewing, painting, stained glass, wood-working, and cooking...and she wants to learn to speak Spanish next!
Educated in the Grossmont Community College ROP program. Darin has been working in the dental field since 2002 and couldnt be happier about his work! He finds great satisfaction in helping put smiles back on the faces of patients, getting them back in the game, and building their confidence. Says Darin, We provide the best dental care to each and every person who walks through our doors, knowing we will make a positive impact on their lives. I prize the rewards that come from providing patients with top-quality care, and seeing and hearing what a difference we can make. Darin loves his family, playing sports, and making a difference in peoples lives.

Once again, I am grateful to Dr. Christensen's office for booking a short notice appointment, when it was most convenient for me. As always, the staff were very friendly, but most important, Dr. Christensen was extremely efficient and skilled, fixing the problem immediately. Thank you!

Michelle is the best hygienist. I am thankful she does not lecture me about flossing (yes, I floss) but I have extreme plaque. Dr. Christiansen has the best bed side manner. I appreciate all the do for my dental health!

I can't say enough good things about Kurt Christiansen and his staff at San Diego Smiles...very professional and caring. I have complete trust in Dr. Christiansen's knowledge and judgement when it comes to my teeth. His and his staff's sense of humor and sensitivity to my needs make each visit easy.

Great staff, very friendly. They treat you like family. I love this place. Carly at the front desk is wonderful. Dr. Christensen is the best dentist I've ever been to. At my age (66) I have had many bad experiences with other offices. I will never go anywhere else.

Dentist and staff very welcoming, understanding of fears and needs for patients who had very difficult childhood experiences with dentists. They offer sedation options or nitrous oxide to help with anxiety issues.

I Just left the San Diego Smiles dental office in El Cajon, Califormia with absolutely no pain and a large smile on my face! Dr. Kurt Christensen just finished installing a new very high quality porcelain crown in my mouth. The installation of my new crown only took a few minutes by Dr. Christensen and his knowledgeable and experienced dental assistant. Doctor Christensen is the consummate professional! I highly recommend Doctor Christensen to anyone who desires top quality dentistry delivered expeditiously in a modern and immaculate office.
