Dr. Sharafi obtained his dental degree at the University of Maryland Dental School. He went on to finish his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at University of Maryland Medical Center and R. Adam Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Dr. Sharafi has trained extensively in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, and benign head and neck pathology and reconstructive dental implantology.
Dr. Sharafi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, San Diego Dental Society, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Academy of Osseointegration
Dr. Sharafi is one of a handful of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in California who holds the California Cosmetic Surgery License due to his comprehensive training in cosmetics and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Sharafi is the surgical instructor of the BioHorizons TeethXpress Full Arch Courses and has a fellowship program for full arch treatment in his office. His passion is full arch rehabilitation and All-on-X procedure of which he has done over 3,500 arches in his career. Dr. Sharafi has privileges at Sharp Memorial Hospital and Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego.
Dr. Zandevakili is a board eligible oral and maxillofacial surgeon specializing in dental implantology, complex dentoalveolar surgery including dental extractions and bone grafting, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, head and neck pathology, and TMJ surgery.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California San Diego (UCSD), Dr. Zandevakili attended dental school at University of the Pacific (UOP) Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Zandevakili graduated dental school with the highest honors, including membership to the prestigious Tau Kappa Omega and Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor societies.
Following his graduation from dental school, Dr. Zandevakili completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Emory University School of Medicine, which is one of the leading research universities and a top-ranking hospital in the United States. Throughout his training, Dr. Zandevakili received extensive experience in the treatment and management of complex craniomaxillofacial trauma while working at Atlantas Level I trauma center, Grady Memorial Hospital.
He is an active member of many professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (CALAOMS), American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS), American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), San Diego County Dental Society (SDCDS), and Academy of Osseointegration (AO). Dr. Zandevakili is an active board certification candidate with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
Dr. Zandevakili is a proud San Diego native and is thrilled to be returning to his hometown to practice. During his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working out, travelling, and cooking. His passion for helping patients achieve a bright, healthy smile is evident in his gentle, meticulous approach to dental surgery. Amazing experience. I really have to hand it to Dr. Z and the staff over at SD Oral. I'm far from an easy patient, and although I have had extensive dental work in the past (extractions, major root canals, etc.) this was the absolute best experience I have ever had. I usually feel it, even with the injections to numb, but they did it right. It was easy and as painless as can be. Thanks for your patience and great work

I got my wisdom teeth removed at this location by dr Zandevakili. Wisdom teeth extraction is something you only do once but I feel 100% confident in saying I had one of the best experiences here and I just know getting it done by dr zan will be was one of the best decisions I made. Everyone there is very nice starting with the front desk ladies and the nurses all the way up to dr zan. I have a bit of white coat syndrome but in the consultation dr zan put all that to bed with how knowledgeable & experienced he is. Come surgery day the way he came into the room like he was about to perform the easiest thing off all time put me as ease as well. He just carried himself with such high professionalism, knowledge, and experience. He explained everything so very clearly and thoroughly I feel like I can almost fully explain the wisdom teeth extraction process to someone seeking a consultation because of how good of. Job he did. I wish him many more successful years in his career field and if I ever need something done that he can perform, I will be going to him without a doubt. If you are wondering if you should do so as well, trust me on this review and go see him!

I was made to feel safe and comfortable the entire time. My initial, surgery, and follow up appointments were all great, everyone was so nice and I really felt taken care of and cared about.

I was referred to this oral surgery office by my dentist to have my wisdom teeth removed, and they were amazing! They really seemed to know what they were doing and had systems in place to make recovery simple and straightforward. I get very nervous with surgery and having IVs put in, but the staff and the surgeon made me feel completely comfortable. My surgeon was Dr. Sascha Zandevakili and he made me laugh and put me at ease on the morning of my wisdom tooth removal. I would highly recommend this office to anyone seeking oral surgery.

Be careful I was a patient , after few weeks they call me back for appointment and my insurance, office told they don't accept my insurance I totally understand and make sense but when I asked lady more questions she became rude and she said they don't care about my problem and hang up on me at the end. I really did not appreciate the treatment I received from the office manager very disappointed.Be careful to choose the doctor and who works for the doctor.

I couldn't be more Impressed with this clinic! From the ladies at the front desk all the way to the Dr. doing the procedure it was simply awesome. Very friendly staff. Very informative. Very comforting to work with. I was lucky enough to have Dr. Evans to some work on me. He made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed with everything. He sat with me and gave me every bit of info about what we were doing and what to expect after in recovery. He is beyond professional and knowledgeable in his field. He was able to give answers where needed and didn't make me feel rushed at all. Overall such an awesome experience the whole clinic was able to provide. Can't wait to see all of them again!

I was referred here by drJ and boy am I glad the second I met dr Sharfi I was impressed and all my worries seemed to go away. However when I met Geri who helped me so much with my mind and my worries. She was so kind and assuring that I comitted to upper and lower arch surgery with 9 implants and I couldn't be happier. There customer service and caring is second to none. Only go to clear choice if you want to spend extra money

I had a consultation with Dr. Zand and all my wisdom teeth extracted two days later. It was as smooth as I could have wanted, and I'm so grateful. Both he and the nurses made me so comfortable with what would happen, addressed my concerns patiently, and the procedure went exactly as they said it would. Rose at the front desk is great too, calling me the next day to check on me and answer any questions. I highly recommend this office; I was very impressed.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Evans. He was able to quickly diagnose me with minimal effort on my part. He absolutely knows his stuff. Even post surgery he was fast to respond to all my questions, putting me at ease. It's amazing how much better I feel knowing I have a doctor who is not only competent, but is always responsive when I have questions and is able to answer me in a way that's easy for me to understand.

It has been a pleasure seeking treatment from Dr. Sharafi. I had a severe gum problem and arrived in fear to remove all my teeth, gums cleaned up, and have implants using the All on Four procedure. Dr. Sharafi is extremely professional, friendly, and caring . During pre -surgery session, he explained exactly what needed to be done and how. The three hour surgery was smooth and perfect with little or no pain afterward. I could not have a better experience. I highly recommend Dr. Sharafi to anyone who needs dental implants and oral surgery.

I was referred to Dr Sharafi by my Dentist for an implant. Dr Sharafi and staff are very friendly and professional. The procedure was almost painless (some pain after the surgery). Office is easy to work with and they coordinate well with my dentist who did my crown. So far I haven't had any complications. Im very happy. Highly recommended!
