San Diego Dental Health Center - General dentist in La Jolla, CA

Dr. Thanos Kristallis has been one of the top Prosthodontists dedicated to cosmetic and implant dentistry, treating celebrities and dignitaries for more than 30 years. He is a UCLA faculty and a board-certified specialist. If you are searching for the right cosmetic dentist, it is important to understand that board-certified specialists are not just regular dentists. Cosmetic dentists in our San Diego dental offices have at least three years of extended training and postgraduate studies. Prosthodontics is one of the only eight specialties recognized by the field of dentistry. Our board-certified specialists will carefully examine your overall oral health before doing any cosmetic procedure.

Beautiful cosmetic dentistry requires more than training and technical skill. It combines art and science to create a beautiful healthy smile that is personalized and unique. Simply creating teeth that look perfect in the abstract wont necessarily help you to look and feel your best. You need a dentist who aims for dental health but also has a developed eye for cosmetic enhancement.

At the San Diego Dental Health Center, we incorporate laser dentistry practices into our treatments and use lasers for gum and bone contouring and whitening gel activation. Lasers allow us to improve procedural outcomes and benefits patients by managing and reducing pain, providing a speedy recovery, and reducing inflammation. In addition, laser dentistry can be helpful for patients with TMD and other oral-related pain.

Reconstructive dentistry is a branch of dentistry where our dentists restore beauty, function, and overall health to a smile after it has deteriorated, due to age wear, trauma or oral disease. We offer a range of reconstructive options including fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants. The type of restoration a patient requires will vary based on each patients specific needs. However, patients that have extensive damage can receive a smile makeover. This procedure includes a combination of reconstructive options to fully restore the mouth.

Sometimes accidents happen, and teeth can break. Fortunately, we offer restorations for broken teeth. A broken tooth not only detracts from the rest of your smile but can alter the strength of your bite and lead to the need for a tooth extraction. Whenever possible, we try to save the tooth before extracting it. We offer dental bonding, crowns, and veneers for restoration which all restore appearance and function to your natural smile.

I came to this dental clinic as a 17-year-old who was greatly suffering of a fistula between the roof of my mouth and my nose, which was causing me a great amount of anxiety and the inability to retain fluids and even eat properly. I met with Dr. Kattia and Dr. Kristallis and I really mean when J say, they really do care. Dr. Kattia has a heart of gold and made me a temporary kind of denture to cover the hole at no cost because she genuinely cares about her patients. Dr. Kristallis is someone who loves his job as well and goes out of his way to create the best prosthetic in the quickest amount kf time. He has hundreds of patients but assesses and makes every dental prosthetic piece carefully and on his own. They are doctors everyone wishes to find and honestly should be rewarded for their honesty, kindness, and generosity. I initially thought I was there to just get the hole in my mouth fixed but I was born without my upper teeth, and along with fixing my mouth, Dr. Kristallis fully agreed to creating gor me custom dentures within less than two months. And the price was only $2.5k which is an extremely reasonable price especially comparing to other dental health centers here in SD. Overall, I greatly thank them for everything they've done for me, I appreciate both of them very much and wont ever gorget their kindness and how much these proesthetics will help me in life.

I have been going here since they first opened and cannot speak highly enough about the service they provide. Not only is this a brand new office with state of the art equipment, but the methods and practice as a whole makes other dentists office feel like they are still operating in the stone age. I don't think you can possibly expect more from a dental office that is part of the UCSD Medical buildings. Dr. Archambault and Dr. Kristallis have both helped me in my visits and they are amazing. As someone that always dreaded going in for dental checkups in the past I can admit that I now feel comfortable with the process. I would highly recommend them to anyone and can't thank them enough for the service and help they have provided.

One of the other reviews said that Dr. Archambault isn't a regular dentist, and I'm here to reiterate that point. She is quite extraordinary indeed. I'm a patient of Dr. Archambault, treating osteonecrosis in my jaw. I was diagnosed with plasma cell leukemia in March of 2018 and had a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) later the same year. I'm currently in remission from leukemia and in recovery from my BMT. I used the medication Xgeva during my cancer treatment, which later caused necrosis in my jaw. I was referred to Dr. Archambault by my oncologist. Dr. Archambault performed a quick, painless outpatient procedure on me that removed the necrosis from my jaw. She numbed me up and pulled a couple pieces of loose dead bone from my mouth, and then she used a laser to burn away the remaining necrosis. It only took about 15 minutes. I only felt the push and pull of dental work, and I smelled the heat of the laser. I felt no pain, even in the days following the procedure. I was completely healed by my follow-up appointment a week later. It's a shame that I had to run around so much before I found Dr. Archambault. At times it seems like your health is holding such a delicate balance that even a slight disruption to it is a cause for major concern. I honestly thought it was only a matter of time before my jaw deteriorated to the point that it would break while I chewed food. It's an amazing relief to have found this doctor at this time in my life. I hope others find this review, this doctor, and this treatment when they need it, too. I hope this treatment becomes more readily available to others with necrosis.

Dr Katya really cares about her patients and wants the best for them. This is no regular dentist and the care that you will receive will be advanced and cutting edge. Dr Katya started treating me after a head and neck cancer diagnosis (putting me at risk for dental issues after radiation). Without her Low Level Light Therapy I am convinced I would have been on a feeding tube after week 2. Cannot recommend enough for specialized care.

Dr. Archambault is the best dentist I've been to. While I only go for a regular dental check-ups at the moment, each one has been a great experience. She's funny, kind, and very committed to what she does. The conversations I've had with her about her work in surgery shows how much she loves her work and that she cares for her patients. Without a doubt, she's a healthcare professional that I would want to continue seeing for as long as possible. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. A and the rest of the office to anyone looking for a top-notch team.

Dr. Archambault is the absolute best. She has been treating me since my nasal cancer was discovered. I have never felt more cared for as a patient. Her facilities are state of the art. If you are dealing with a cancer I highly urge you to see her instead of your regular dentist. It is a whole different world when you are dealing with cancer and radiation. She is the best in the business.
