Dr. Jennifer Villalta is passionate about helping children improve their overall and oral health. She believes every child is unique and the dental care provided should be individualized for each child and their family. She strives to make each dental visit an enjoyable and positive experience.
Dr. Jen is a first-generation Latina who grew up in Los Angeles, where she spent her formative years. She later moved with her family to Sonoma County, where her love for pediatric dentistry began. At the age of 16, she started working at a dental office, and by 17 she obtained her Registered Dental Assisting (RDA) license. She completed her undergraduate studies and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Sciences at UCLA. During her time in college she continued to work as a RDA working primarily in pediatrics.
Dr. Jen returned to Northern California to obtain her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where she focused on Pediatric Dentistry. She was President of the Pediatric Dental Society, was in charge of the advanced pediatric dental clinic, and was community service director. During her time she received numerous accolades for her leadership, including the coveted Pediatric Dentistry Award presented for her superior proficiency in the field of dentistry for children.
Dr. Jen missed her Southern California roots and returned to UCLA to complete her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the UCLA School of Dentistry, as well as simultaneously obtaining her Master of Public Health degree from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
Dr. Jen is excited to be working with the team at San Diego Childrens Dentistry! When she isnt practicing dentistry, she enjoys being active and outdoors whether it be at the beach or exercising, and during the winters she enjoys snowboarding.

Dr. Frandsen is from my understanding not a dentist at this location anymore (El Cajon). When he was working here the few times my son went it was great. They also accept TriCare which was a plus. This dentist isn't a full "pediatric" dental care facility. Over the last 2 months I've had 2 appointments scheduled and been called to reschedule both because there would not be a "pediatric" dentist at the time. Highly disappointed because this place is more convenient than the other location I was going to, which is an excellent pediatric dentist.

San Diego Children dentistry, is amazing, everyone is super friendly, the office is modern and kid friendly. Dr. Frandsen is so nice my son loves him. I highly recommend San Diego Children dentistry. 10 stars all the way.

Just took my kid's for their first dentist visit and they had a great experience. Everyone was so friendly and made then feel at ease. Dr. Frandsen was very nice and sensitive to our personal preferences. My 3 year old had to have a cavity filled and he still said he loved the dentist afterward. Dr. Frandsen promised to stop if my son was uncomfortable or protesting in any way, but luckily we didn't have that problem. What a huge difference from my memories of my pediatric dentist. What you really want to know about Peter is if he's smart and is he kind? To find out if he's kind, bring in you're kids and see for yourself. I am a pediatric dentist as well. During my residency I had my kids seen by him (we couldn't see our own kids). For a long time I was their second favorite pediatric dentist. And yes, he's smart too. Very smart.

I was concerned how my 2 1/2 year old was going to react. Peter was so kind and gentle with her I was very impressed . Lots of toys to play with before the exam, she was thrilled. She actually talks about her visit all the time.

My two children's dentist is Dr. Peter S. Frandsen and I have to say out of all the pediatric dentist we've used, he is by far the best! He's very knowledgeable, professional, and caring. His facility in El Cajon is super clean and a great environment for my kids to feel comfortable while they wait for their appointments. They even provide multiple kids movies to watch while my children are getting taken care of. They have the latest technology in the office and are very thorough when it comes to billing insurance correctly. All of the staff that works there are very welcoming & friendly. I would definitely recommend this pediatric dentist to everyone I know that has children. Also, he doesn't just have an office in El Cajon but one in Poway as well. They always deliver the best quality care to my children and we always leave happy and satisfied with all the services provided. Sometimes, my children want to stay because of how comfortable they feel at the office! Thank you San Diego Children's Dentistry for your services!

Dr. Frandsen is AMAZING! He has such a gentle & kind bed side manner. Very inclusive of parents. Such a fun place to go for kids! Mine had his 1st filling and he loved the experience. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST!!!
