PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING THIS BUSINESS: My dad first found Dr. Shankar in the Chinese newspaper. Be aware that he uses his Chinese assistants that speak Chinese to bring in patients that don't speak English. He was brought in by Tiffany Chen in August 2021 to do a total 8 abutments and 11 crowns, some of which were bridges. Once the crowns came in, Dr. Shankar installed one side first. My dad was not happy with first side of installed crowns because he installed them with abutments showing above the gum, when they should be hidden beneath the gum. He then installed the other side of crowns, however a couple weeks later, issues arise again - the bottom bridge crown becomes loose. They initially estimated 6 weeks to complete my dad's case. By this time, 6 months has passed and the work is still not complete / done correctly. March 2022 - Dr. Shankar said he will purchase parts for the bottom crown/bridge, but measurements were incorrect. He insisted the incorrect measurements would still work, but redoing the crown would take another 6-8 weeks. Given the timeframe and my dad not being able to eat properly for months, we decided to go to another practice to re-do the bottom crown bridge. We found another practice to install his bottom crown/bridge within 3 weeks, when Dr. Shankar took 6 months and still could not complete the procedure correctly. Some additional issues my dad encountered from Dr. Shankar's practice: 1. This whole case was performed during the covid pandemic. My dad visited Dr. Shankar's office over 10+ times, and no one checked his temperature or vaccination status. 2. Dental assistant, Tiffany Chen, shaved down my dad's crown with a drill. We are concerned that this may be outside of her permitted duties. 3. Lastly, Dr. Shankar provide a 5 year guaranteed warranty for completed work. We recently wanted to go back to fix a loose crown, however they are unwilling to cooperate and honor their warranty. The crown was completed at his practice and irrelevant to the crown bridge that was done elsewhere. This is my dad's experience with Dr. Shankar's practice for over a year now. If you are considering getting work done with this business, please reconsider. You may experience months without eating and possibly emotional distress from waiting for your case to be done correctly. We are currently in communication with the Dental Board in hopes that they can help resolve our issues with this practice.

Vishnu Sankar totally botched my dad's multiple root canal and Implant. My dad was in pain for weeks after his procedure and his root canals got infected. He went to another surgeon and they found improperly done work by this dental clinic. My dad still can't eat months later bc his mouth has to heal and his screws had to be removed. vishnar has refused to refund my dad his money due to their negligence. Beware of coming here if you want to be overseen by anyone competent.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE DENTIST. Bad service, 2 implants take almost a year still not done, excuse is machine is not working dont know how he got 5 stars on review must be reviewed by themself

I found this dentistry from a google search last year and received a quick response for an appointment. I was seen the next day and Dr. Vishnu and the supporting staff made me feel very welcomed and safe! I've enjoyed being a patient because the office is very sanitary and everyone is professional. I'm really glad I found SB Dental Excellence and highly recommend it to anyone in search of a satisfying experience at the dentist:)

I have been informed that I might need an tooth implement by my dentist , and my friend referred me to this place . I had a briefing meeting with dr. Vishnu , he quickly examed my teeth and took X-rays, identified the problem with my tooth and provided me a treatment plan that he suggested , also discussed different options and timeline with me. Dr Vishnu is very professional and easy to communicate with a sense of humor that makes the scary dental experience become a joyful trip, the receptionist and the assistnat team was very friendly and helpful too, I felt very welcomed and warmed by the team. After consider my financial situation , the team was able to come out a treatment plan that fits to my budget and reaches to the goal I need . They were able to schedule me within next couple days consider I was almost losing my tooth. The implement surgery went super smooth and I didn't feel anything . Post surgery I didn't have much blood and not much pain either , overall my first tooth implement experience was not scary at all. I am now waiting for my next appointment to do a molding for the crown . However I will definitely recommend this place for people who needs the dental care .

Excellent experience! I had three wisdom teeth extracted at this dental office last week. Dr. Shankar and dental assistants were very friendly. I'm glad my wounds healed quickly with a reasonable price. This dental office includes Cantonese, Mandarin and Spanish translators, and Dr. Shankar has the experience to ensure every patient's satisfaction. I highly recommend this dentist's office. It's my favorite dental office in the Bay Area.

I had not been to a dentist if a VERY long time. A friend suggested I see Dr. Shankar. At the time I had an infection and the pain was excruciating. He saw me the same day and prescribed antibiotics to help with the root of the problem, an infection. He made suggestions that made sense, and we came to the conclusion the tooth had to go, but not until the swelling came down. Within 2 days I was feeling better. I had an appointment within 3 days from my first visit, but could not go so I rescheduled. Wrong decision. I got another infection and the pain from before came back. It was awful!! Again I called and was seen the same day. During this visit he extracted the problem molar. He is so gentle that I barely felt anything when he extracted the molar. He is the type of doctor who is not in it for greed or money, rather for the wellbeing if his patients. If you or a family member need a dentist who cares, see Dr. Shankar!! will be a dedicated patient for the rest of my life!!

Good afternoon, This is Aren! I would like to share my experience at these office. Its a great office located directly in San Bruno. The front desk staff makes you feel right at home immediately when you walk in the door. Everything was on time and it was an extremely professionally run office. A fantastic experience that is super easy for anyone that works downtown.This is a great place to go take care of your teeth. The team was very professional examining and providing with solutions by priority.I felt that I was in good hands. All the people here were very gentle and kind to me. They explained very well what was going on. Thanks to the amazing staff on board.The best dental care I have ever experienced!
