Dr. Frederick H. Sammons' daughter Maggie joined the practice in May of 2011. Maggie is a graduate of Huntington High School and attended the University of Kentucky for undergraduate school. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2008 and her Master's degree in orthodontics from West Virginia University in 2011.
Dr. Adamsis the past President of the Huntington Dental Society and West Virginia Association of Orthodontists. She is a member of the Southern Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, West Virginia Association of Orthodontists and the Huntington Dental Society. The foundation of her treatment philosophy is based on Andrews' Six Elements of Orofacial Harmony.
Dr. Adams is active in various civic organizations, has lectured to local community groups, and regularly attends continuing education seminars. She serves as a board member for the Marshall Artist Series and has recently joined the cleft lip and palate team at Cabell Huntington Hospital as their consultant for orthodontics.
Dr. Sammons graduated from Huntington High School and attended the University of Kentucky for undergraduate school. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia University and as a graduating dental student, was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
Upon graduation, Dr. Sammons worked in the Prosthodontic Department at the West Virginia University Dental School as an instructor. After teaching full time, he entered the Graduate Program of Orthodontics at West Virginia University, receiving his Master's Degree in the dental specialty of Orthodontics in 1980. Since graduation, Dr. Sammons has practiced orthodontics in the Huntington, Barboursville, and Teays Valley area for almost 40 years.
Dr. Sammons is a member of the Southern Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, WV Association of Orthodontists, and Huntington Dental Society. He is also a past president of both the Huntington Dental Society and the West Virginia Orthodontic Association.

My daughter just got her braces off today! She had quite an underbite and it was suggested by our dentist to get her into braces early. We were hesitant since she was only 8 but the staff at Sammons-Adams Orthodontics was wonderful and made her feel really comfortable. It was a really great experience and being a kid she totally popped a bracket eating something harder than she should have (they got her in quickly to fix it. The staff is awesome. We are really glad we chose to go to them and you will also. Thank you!

I felt nervous when I came here but the dentists here were very careful with my teeth. It was nice getting my braces on for the first time here because weeks after having them on my teeth were becoming so much straighter.

If you need an orthodontist you can trust Sammons Adams will give you the right diagnosis and care that you need. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Great with kids who are nervous about getting braces. They take their time explaining all your options. They keep up on the latest ideas about orthodontics.

My daughter loves coming to Sammons Adams Orthodontics! She basically advertises for free telling her friends in school who she goes to for her orthodontic needs. All the staff is very friendly and Dr Adams is the best. There's no long waits to get in or be seen. The emergency numbers on the weekend gives us peace of mind if something happens. Both Barboursville and Huntington facilities are well equipped and very clean. If anybody asks me where to go I'll be telling them about Dr Adams and her amazing staff

Since having almost all 5 of my children going threw braces I wouldn't want to go to any other orthodontist. Everyone is very friendly and will help you with anything they can.thank you for all you do.

I had my braces done there when I was a child By Dr. Sammons, I knew when it was time to take my daughter to the orthodontist just where we would go, now that Dr. Adams is doing the braces u still get the same great services. They really have it down pat. I love the staff they are all professional and friendly. I would recommend if u r needing ur smile fixed u check them out.
