Dr. Sam Spence was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. He attended McMurry University and graduated with a B.A. degree in biology. From there he went on to attend the University of Texas Dental School in Houston and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. Spence has practiced dentistry in Abilene, TX for the past 40 years. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and 17th District Dental Association. Dr. Spence has served as a board member for the Boys and Girls Club and as an assistant scout master for Troop 206 Boy Scouts of America. He has also served on the McMurry University Math and Science Advisory Board and the Alumni Board.
Dr. Spence is a father of four to Christopher, Patrick, Katherine, and Amy. He is the proud grandfather to Wesley and Lucy. In his free time he and his wife enjoy traveling, gardening, cooking and volunteering. He has volunteered hundreds of hours at the Abilene State Supported Living Center and other nonprofits.
