Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies recommendations.
Dr. Sam F. Khoury was born and raised in San Francisco. He graduated from Santa Clara University and pursued a career in research. His interest in finding new therapeutics led him to consider a career in the health care field. Dental school took him to the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Khoury graduated in the top 5% of his class and was inducted in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. In addition to his scholastic achievements, he obtained numerous research grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH).
Dr. Khoury returned to Northern California to complete a four year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Highland General Hospital/Alameda County Medical Center. During his residency, he also trained at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, Children's Hospital Oakland, and University of the Pacific in San Francisco. Dr. Khoury has published several scientific articles which have won national awards. He also teaches at the University of the Pacific and is an attending surgeon training residents at Highland General Hospital Oakland.
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are dental specialists who treat conditions and diseases of the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face. Their training includes a four-year graduate degree in dentistry and the completion of a hospital surgical residency program. They also care for patients who experience such conditions as problem wisdom teeth, injuries of the face and jaws, and they offer reconstructive and dental implant surgery. With specialized knowledge in pain control and advanced training in anesthesia, the oral and maxillofacial surgeon is able to provide quality care with maximum patient comfort and safety in the office setting.

Dr Khoury is the kindest most gentle caring doctor I have been lucky to meet. He is considered excellent in his field. He has reached out to me after business hours to see if I was doing okay after a procedure. I highly recommend him.

Had an amazing experience with the staff and Dr. Khoury. I had a somewhat complicated wisdom teeth removal and felt very comfortable having Dr. Khoury doing the procedure. It's also quite comforting knowing that he is the trauma oral surgeon for one of the trauma hospitals in the area!

Took my 5 year old son into see Dr Sam Khoury for pediatric dentist care. The staff made my child feel very uncomfortable and was not able to administer any care. We left with nothing being accomplished. They choose to still bill me for $320.00 for services not rendered. I refused to pay and they sent it to collections. I was able to get the work done at another dentist which I highly recommend. I would Avoid Sam Khoury at all costs. They were very uncaring and impatient to my 5 year old and myself.

Excellent and extremely efficient service! Went in for a tooth extraction. I spent more time filling out the paperwork than in the chair for the procedure. All staff kept checking on me during the brief procedure. Staff and Dr. Khoury himself called to check in afterward. Minimal pain! Can't say enough about them!

We had a really great experience with Dr. Khoury and his team. My husband had emergency surgery to remove 2 wisdom teeth and it was all a blur up until the day we went in. We had a same-day consult and surgery which was due to the state his teeth were in and the need to remove them. Dr Sam and his team were welcoming, reassuring and easy to communicate with. I worried about the finances and they gave me the best, most thorough information they had and took over communication with our insurance who they agreed is impossible. They followed up with us daily for 3 days and Dr. Sam even called him personally that evening to check in. Both of us being very apprehensive about dentists in general because...well they are dentists... we felt at ease right away - even in a pandemic! Thank you so much for everything. My daughter was scared to get her wisdom teeth removed and they made her experience comfortable. They really cared about her, they called several times to check on her. I have already recommended them for a coworkers son and will continue to recommend Dr. Khoury.

Recommendation 100%!! Upon arrival I was a basket case!! Petrified of needles. Everyone from the front desk to the nurse (Nowell) and Dentist were so compassionate, understanding and caring!! I could not had made it without them!! 2 extractions. One was very difficult. I almost needed to be put to sleep to finish procedure. Dr. Khoury figured out another way and Bingo I got through the procedure!! Day after surgery "No Pain"!!! No Needle Pain!! If anything very minor discomfort. Thanking Dr. Sam Khoury, entire Staff and Nurse for all you had done and the follow up calls meant a lot!! You went above and beyond!!

The equipment I saw was very modern. We are military, and many members of his staff are former military, and Dr. Khoury trained both in Pittsburgh PA and S.Cal at some top notch schools. I know most people post reviews when they are unhappy with service, but I think it's worth saying "great job" when it is deserved too.
