Waited for three months for an appointment, received a confirmation text message, get there today, not on the list. I just get a "sorry about that, not sure what happened, we'll get back to you in a week or so with a new appointment". Terrible. A child with a cavity and taken out of school for the appointment, uhhg. Moving family to a new dentist!

Possibly a good dentist however The first appointment I scheduled with them they accidentally scheduled me for a holiday so they called and rescheduled. They could not fit me in for a few months but I waited. The day before my appointment I was told that there would not be a dentist in the office that day and that they needed to reschedule. Three more months later I called to confirm my appointment for tomorrow and they didn't have me scheduled they also informed me that there was not going to be a dentist available because they had Covid anyway . Besides the Covid this is unacceptable I will be taking my business elsewhere

My husband and my oldest daughter have been to this practice. My husband had a good experience. Myself, and my daughters however have not. My oldest daughter went in for a chipped tooth and was told they would call her to schedule an appointment for a filling. To this day they have never called her and it's been months. They did send us a bill, indicating they didn't have our insurance info (it was given to them when the appointment was made)! They kept telling my daughter the ID card from Dominion National is not proof of insurance. I contacted Dominion National and was told the dental office is supposed to verify the insurance based on the ID. Well, they finally billed it correctly. My youngest daughter and I were originally scheduled for an exam and cleaning in mid-June. Of course they called me a few days before and canceled the appointment because the hygienist was not going to be in that day. They rescheduled us for September 6th (yes, 3 months later). We showed up on September 6th at our scheduled time. The receptionist looked puzzled and asked me if I'd received a text. I indicated I did not. She then fiddled around on her computer and then in a snotty tone she says "yep, you were called and left a voicemail because the dentist is going to be out until October." I voiced my displeasure only to be told "we had no way of knowing the dentist would be out until October." How do you not know when your dentist will be there ... you know, since they are only open 2 days a week?! I don't know who they called, but they did NOT call me. I drove to this location from Toano, so it was definitely an inconvenience. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, or use pliers to pull out the bad tooth. You'll be glad you did. I've submitted a complaint to Dominion National as well. Meanwhile, my daughter has a cavity and has needed to be seen since June.

I have been going to Dr. English's practice for a few years now and I am very happy with them. Alex is a wonderful hygienist she really does a great job and makes the whole experience very pleasant. Dr. Lazar is also very nice to work with he makes it all very easy. The entire staff makes sure you are comfortable and they are willing to help in any way they can.

This is the worst dental practice imaginable. They seemed nice enough, but then they lost key staff in early 2022, and the Williamsburg practice basically fell to pieces. In my case, they put a crown on a tooth that either was, or immediately became, infected. When I complained about severe pain, Dr. Lazar (Dr. English's colleague) only looked at the bite but failed to notice a dental abscess (which can be a life-threatening condition when untreated). I finally quit the practice and my new dentist immediately saw the problem, put me on antibiotics, and sent me to an endodontist. Then I got a bill for $1,050 from Sam English for the crown in question. He refused to reduce this charge and so I paid it but under protest. I hope that my story can prevent others from suffering as much as I did in this truly terrible place.

If anyone is looking for a dentist, avoid Dr. English in Williamsburg and West Point. I have been having issues with a billing problem that they admitted was their mistake 6 months ago. They won't call me back no matter how many messages I leave them and actually went to the office twice in the last month trying to get this resolved. They said they would get back to me 2 weeks ago and Saturday I got notified they sent me to collections. I called today and asked to speak with Dr. English himself and was told by a lady in his office that he never calls anyone back so good luck. What a way to run a business!

Very disappointed. I was led to believe that I could have my teeth cleaned without going through the exercise of checking on my gums etc. I paid for x-rays that were not necessary and I did not want. Prior to my making an appointment I emphasized that all I wanted to have done was teeth cleaning regardless of status of gums or any other issues. I will not be back. And I will not recommend your practice. Frederic Moschel

I have been a patient for close to a decade. The issue I have to make me never want to go back there is how they treated my husband. He went in for a checkup and they said they needed a certain test which they claimed was covered by insurance. After the fact they sent us a non descriptive bill for $85 for this test. My husband spent so much time either calling them or visiting the office in person to discuss the issue and even told them that after contacting our insure company that there was no reason for this test to be recommended. Dr English's reps claimed we went to a different dentist to have this test done which is a lie and even after my husband reasoned with them and they said it was their mistake and take off the charge they continued to act like they had no idea who we were or the situation. It's been almost impossible to get a hold of them they don't pick up the phone or call back. We were even told that Dr English himself would not call back which is a horrible way to run a business especially when the office made a mistake. Then they sent our illegitimate charge to their own personal collections office to which the representative even said they wouldn't go to court for any charge less than $100. But for $85 they permanently lost 2 customers and don't even care to admit their mistake and apologize for all the grief and aggravation. Beware they are liars, have horrible office hours, and are all incompetent in how they deal with customers.

Alex again did a great job of cleaning and examining my teeth, and providing ways to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
