Dentistry has been a family tradition since 1934. Dr. Arthur Salvatore Sr.s passion for helping the community inspired four of his children to pursue careers in the dental field. Currently practicing in a newly built, stateoftheart office, Dr. Richard Salvatore, Sr. (Doc), his son Dr. Richard Salvatore, Jr. (Dr. Rich), and his wife, Dr. Vera Popova Salvatore (Dr. Vera), provide premier digital dentistry using 3D printers, cone beam technology, digital impressions and dual patient televisions. Salvatore Dental has been the proud recipient of numerous awards, including recognition as the toprated practice in the Capital District. Doc has been practicing for 49 years in the Capital Region, taking over the practice from his father. Many of his careerlong patients, having been with the practice for more than 60 years, have seen all three generations of doctors. Doc continues to enjoy all aspects of dentistry and blends time tested techniques along with cuttingedge digital dentistry. Dr. Rich is a leading member in the Academy of 3D dentists, pioneering the implementation of 3D technology with dentistry. Less than 1% of dentists provide the inhouse 3D technology that Salvatore Dental uses on a daily basis. Further, he has obtained more than 500 hours of additional training with focus on providing dental implants for a permanent solution for his patients.
Ironically, Dr. Vera also comes from a family of dentists with both parents practicing in Ukraine. Dr. Veras cosmetic dentistry is award winning! She has won the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Award as well as International College of Dentists Award. Spanning 122 countries, a nominated dentist must pass a rigorous peer review process leading to the recognition of the individuals outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service and dedication to the continued progress of dentistry for the benefit of humankind.
Why did you decide on a Dental Field? My grandfather, aunt, uncle and father were all dentists. I loved visiting the Schenectady office growing up and saw the impact that dentistry can have on patients lives!
Why did you decide on a Dental Field? After sustaining a big dental trauma as a child, and having received great dental care, I decided to become a Dentist. This decision occurred at age 9 when I realized how important dentistry is for health, function and for confidence.
Why did you decide on a Dental Field? I had a wonderful Dentist growing up who encouraged me to pursue something in the field. Hygiene felt like the right choice because I love people. I also had an internship in high school with a pediatric Dentist which helped me with my decision!
Why did you decide on a Dental Field? I have always wanted a career where I could work closely with people and form long-term relationships. I enjoy the artistic part of dentistry as it combines with clinical aspects
