AOA is committed to giving back toourcommunity by partnering with nonprofits, schools, and other organizations in Austinto provide care to those in need. With the SHARE A SMILE initiative, our team provides service to those who cannot afford orthodontic care. We do this because we truly believe that orthodontic treatment has the capacity to transform lives by providing a stepping-stone for future success.

Our practice has three board certified orthodontists to collaborate on all aspects of your treatment. Both doctors also teach and lecture on orthodontic topics and have worked as associate professors at UTHSC in San Antonio. Our multi-doctor practice means that you are receiving attentive care from threewidely-respectedorthodontists. Three heads are better than one!

Our HimeBucks incentive program helps encourage the fullest possible cooperation with the treatment plan. The HimeBucks program was published in an international orthodontic journal, and helps our younger patients fully engage with the process that leads to success.

Our clinic offers individual treatment rooms for patient comfort and privacy. In addition, we obtain all of the diagnostic records in our office, and we have an in-house lab for fabrication of retainers, space maintainers, and other appliances related to your orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Hime loves meeting and getting to know so many people from all over Austin. He loves seeing his patients many years after their treatment is complete. Hes even gone to many weddings of former patients and heard how their new spouses were initially attracted to them because of their smile!

Dr. Hime lectures extensively around the world on various orthodontic techniques. He has lectured in major cities in the US (New York, Orlando, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Philadelphia, Portland ME, Cape Cod, Phoenix) along with Canada (Toronto, Vancouver, Whistler, Montreal) and throughout Europe (Basel, Heidelberg, Lucerne, Paris, Munich).

For Dr. Salome, great orthodontics arises from the small details of the teeth, but its aim is the big picture of helping people smile which can truly change lives. This makes it the best career he can think of!

As a child, Dr. Salome had a hard time learning to read. In dental school, however, he obtained a perfect score onthe spatial reasoning portion of the Dental Admissions Test (DAT).He attributes that 'perfect score' to the same cognitive pattern that made it hard for him to learn to read in the first place. Just a reminder that often the sources of our greatest struggles, become our greatest assets.

Since 2001, Dr. Salome has maintained a faculty position at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. In addition to teaching the residents who are training to become orthodontists themselves, he also has lectured to the dental students and the other dental residents. He has taught and served as Course Director for the Craniofacial Growth and Development course, and annually delivers guest lectures to all of the post-doctoral residents on the topic of Maxillary Growth in Childhood and Adolescence. In 2011, he was honored to be nominated by the Orthodontic Department for an Excellence in Teaching Award.

Away from the University, he has been invited to lecture to orthodontists on various topics ranging from orthodontic techniques to the psychology underneath beautiful smiles. Since 2013, he has served as Key Opinion Leader for 3M, advising them on their Incognito bracket system and teaching their certification courses.He has been honored to lecture to a wide range of orthodontists and dentists on a variety of topics.

Dr. Kaveh Najibfard aka Dr. Naj is a native of Iran. He and his family immigrated to Central Texas in2008 and Dr. Naj quickly set out to leave his mark on the orthodontic world. He graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with a Master of Science in Clinical Research before attending the UTDental School in San Antonio, where he graduated summa cum laude. He then undertook residency training in orthodontics and served as a Chief Resident. Dr. Naj is a Board Certified Orthodontist, a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the prestigious Texas Orthodontic Study Club. In 2016, he was awarded the Fred. F. Shudy Award for Excellence in the Practice of Clinical Orthodontics.

Dr. Hime and Dr. Salome are proud to welcome Dr. Naj as a partner at Austin Orthodontic Arts. Having both taught Dr. Naj during his residency at UTHSCSA, they both recognized his stand-out ability over a decade ago. As a team, they are committed to providing all patients with the best orthodontic experience and a beautiful, healthy, long-lasting smile.

Dr. Naj enjoys playing tennis, hiking, cycling and traveling. He loves to catch a good NBA or Soccer Game. Go SPURS! VAMOS Austin FC! He is very excited to be living back in Austin and being closer to his brothers.
