While growing up, Dr. Endres was first introduced to oral healthcare as a possible career by his family dentist. In school, he always enjoyed science class, particularly biology. Once he reached high school, he decided that a profession in health was the right fit for him, and dentistry was most appealing because it afforded you a lot more autonomy. Instead of working within a large organization, he could be independent and make his own decisions for himself and for patients, and that sealed the deal. All these years later, hes never regretted the path he took for a second!
After completing his undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at Albany, Dr. Endres pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Howard University. From there, he enrolled in the United States Air Force and completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS, doing intensive rotations through the dental specialties of restorative care, oral surgery, sedation dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, and more. He was then assigned to Beale AFB in Yuba City, CA and practiced in the base dental clinic there for two years before returning to civilian life and moving to Connecticut.
Dr. Endres is the proud father of three grown sons named Michael, Ryan, and Kyle. He also has one daughter-in-law and two sweet grandchildren named Emily and James. In his free time, he loves playing golf and is very active in a local Special Olympics Golf Team. In fact, he initiated the program and was the head coach for twelve years, organizing weekly practices and preparing the athletes for the end-of-season state tournament. Seeing the joy on their faces when they win medals is always an amazing experience! He also recently purchased a 22-foot cabin cruiser that he intends to keep in Rhode Island and use frequently for fishing trips.
Dr. Chawlas grandfather is a doctor, and as a kid, she frequently visited his clinic. There, she was always impressed by the love and respect his patients clearly held for him. In fact, she was often inspired to role play as a doctor, with her little brother and parents as unwilling patients!
Once she was in school, Dr. Chawla developed a keen interest in science and got the opportunity be a part of a dental camp in high school that would care for underprivileged kids. Her interest in dentistry grew when this experience made her realize how vital the connection between a healthy mouth and a persons overall wellbeing was. Her compassion and her motivation to help others left her feeling like the oral healthcare field was the ideal career path and the rest is history.
Dr. Chawla attended dental school in India and worked in a private dental office there for some time, but she was determined to learn so much more and use the newest technology as well. That drive led her to move to New York and pursue her Doctor of Dental Surgery at New York University. Today, she is certified in laser dentistry by the American Laser Dentistry and has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry for several years. She has also been honored as a Fellow by the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics.
Family and personal relationships hold a very strong value in Dr. Chawlas life. She is extremely close to her parents and her brother to this day, and she met her husband while attending dental school in New York. When she isnt busy at work, her biggest passions include traveling and dancing. She learned classical Indian dances as a kid and always tries to refresh her skills when shes back in India. As a New Englander, shes also extremely fond of the fall season and is always hunting for new hiking trails to conquer. Shes currently taking lessons to improve her tennis skills and also does her very best to replicate recipes from Chopped and MasterChef in her kitchen with her husband.
