Dr. Salkeld was born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN. He attended Northrop High School then pursued higher education at DePauw University and Indiana University School of Dentistry. He graduated in 1991. Dr. Salkeld practiced dentistry in the Fort Wayne, IN, Noblesville, IN, Phoenix, AZ and now back in Fort Wayne.
He is committed to bringing the very best dentistry has to offer to his patients. This commitment is evident in his pursuit of higher education in the field of Dental Implants. This Advanced Implant Training has prepared Dr. Salkeld for the placement and restoration of Dental Implants. He is a 1998 graduate of the Misch International Implant Institute. In March 2005, Dr. Salkeld received his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Dr. Salkeld is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, and Isaac Knapp District Dental Society (IKDDS). He serves as an Alternate Delegate to the IDA House of Delegates and the Board of IKDDS.
He is married to his wife - Erin. He is very active outdoors and enjoys motorcycles, hockey and spending time with his family. In his spare time, he is also a USA Hockey Official, ref'ing local and regional games.
Together they have two sons named Connor and Carson. Erin enjoys her dogs, is a passionate horse lover and dabbles in the dog grooming business. Connor operates CJ Stables, LLC and farms hay and Carson plays travel hockey and golf. They enjoy horses, motorcycles, swimming and any and all outdoor activities.
Dr. Bertsch grew up in Granger, Indiana. He completed his undergraduate and masters at Ball State University, obtaining a degree in Biology and Physiology. He then moved to Louisville, Kentucky to attend the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.
He is a general dentist that enjoys doing fillings, crowns and bridges, root canal therapy, oral surgery, and complete or partial dentures. Dr. Bertsch is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, the Young Dentist Committee, and the local Issac Knapp Dental Society.
Dr. Bertsch is passionate about offering quality dentistry, committed to helping all his patients enjoy their dental experience, and giving patients all the tools necessary to make informed decisions about their oral health.
He is married to his wife, Brooke, who is a Fort Wayne native. He enjoys camping, biking, playing guitar, kayaking and spending time at the lake. Brooke is an elementary school teacher and also loves the outdoors. They both enjoy spending time with their dog, Indy.

Joyce is a lifelong resident of Huntertown and graduated from Carroll High School. She attended IPFW where she received a certificate in Dental Assisting with Expanded Functions, and an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene. Joyce has worked as a Dental Hygienist for the past thirty four years. This includes eighteen and a half years with Dr. Rick Warner and the past 3 years with Dr. Steven Salkeld. She enjoys getting to know her patients and building a relationship with them.
Joyce and her husband Jeff, own Best-One Tire and Service in Auburn. They have a daughter, Jayme (Ryan) Schwab, who reside in Huntertown as well. Their son, Justin (Jordan) reside in Naperville, IL. Joyce enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and is an avid golfer.
Christi was born and raised in Monroeville, Indiana. She graduated from Heritage High School with honors and continued her education at IPFW receiving and A.A. in General Studies (2002) and an A.S. in Dental Hygiene (2004). She is a member of IKDAA, IDHA, and ADHA. Christi has been practicing dental hygiene for twelve years and has worked under the supervision of Dr. Salkeld since his return to Fort Wayne in 2013. She enjoys the bonds shes made with her patients.
In her free time, Christi enjoys spending time with family and making memories with her daughter, Mackenzie. Her outdoor hobbies include hiking, kayaking, and cross country skiing. Christi had her second baby girl, Carolyne Rose Marie, February 23rd 2018!
Allie was born and raised in Fort Wayne. She graduated from Snider High School and continued her education at Indiana University Fort Wayne. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene program in 2021. There she also gained her license in administering local anesthesia . Allie joined Dr Salkeld and Dr Bertsch in August of 2021. She is eager and excited to meet all of the patients and to assist them with their oral health care needs. In her free time, Allie enjoys spending time with her family and her boyfriend Brandon. She also enjoys shopping, traveling and playing with her golden doodle, Russ!
Haley graduated from IPFW in 2013 with a certificate in Dental Assisting. She also took a special course to be certified in expanded functions as a dental assistant. She has been working for Dr. Salkeld since he took over the practice in September, 2013. Haley enjoys spending her free time with her boyfriend Derek, daughter Ava, and dog Zika. They spend a lot of time outdoors, hiking, camping, bike riding, and hanging out with their families. She is also very active in fitness classes and running at home.
Elise graduated from Ross Medical Educational Center with a certificate in dental assisting. She furthered her dental education by taking an Expanded Functions course at IUPUI. Elise has been in dentistry for 2 years and has enjoyed every aspect of her career. Elise finds joy by spending her free time with her 5 year old daughter Aria. Elise loves music, outdoor activities, good friends and shopping. Elise has been with Dr Salkeld since April 2019 and has loved meeting all of the patients and is so pleased to be part of the family bond created by all of the staff.
Aubri graduated from Maumee Valley Dental Assisting Program. She started her love for dentistry in Ohio, although she was born and raised in Michigan. She currently resides in Fort Wayne and is loving every minute of it. Aubri enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys camping, family and fitness. Aubri joined Dr Salkled's team in 2021 and loves connecting with patients and helping educate them with their dental needs.
Deana graduated from Jay County High School and continued her education at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. She returned to Indiana to pursue her career in the medical billing and insurance processing field. In 2004 she decided to make a change in her career to the dental profession. She feels that a persons smile can make such a difference in their lives. Along with Dr Salkeld and the rest of the team helping to make those smiles shine and be the best they can be is very exciting. Deana lives in Fort Wayne with her husband Austin and has a son Connor, a daughter Allie and a Goldendoodle Russ. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Liz joined Dr. Salkeld's team in February of 2018. She began her career in dentistry in 2012. Liz brings 15 years of experience in both medical and dental insurance and billing. Liz enjoys building new relationships with our patients and seeing their smiles as they enter and leave! Liz lives in Fort Wayne with her husband and son. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
