Was scheduled for a post op follow up. When I arrived was told I was not on their calendar and the last time I was in was in August. This was when the post op appointment was made following oral surgery. I was told they would work me in. After 1 hour with no feed back, I asked if they could tell me when I would be seen. After telling me I owed $117.00, they went to consult in the back. I was brought back 5 mins later. Customer Service not a priority.

Salem Periodontal is Excellent... Have gone there for years... The Doctors and Staff are too grade , Professional , Personable and reliable... Even in emergent situations they step up to the plate and make sure your personal situation is handled ,quickly , efficiently, and effectively.. If your problem is beyond their scope they will not play it by ear ,but as Caring Professionals they will refer you to the best in the field that will necessitate your recovery without delay or hesitation...

My first time here as a patient and I felt so welcomed. Everyone, from the front desk, to the assistant, to the doctor was so helpful and took the time to answer my questions and explain the procedures. I am very happy that I was referred here- I feel like I will be in great hands!

My husband has been treated with care, concern, and laughter with each visit. Dr. Kaindl is super efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and does great work. Maddie is extremely helpful, responsive, respectful, patient and welcoming. I'm glad We chose this facility for periodontal care.

Dr. Kaindl is magic! The greater the challenge, the better! I walked in scared and upset and walked out with hope and a plan. We are almost through all the procedures and I am still their most satisfied client.

At my visit, a consultation for a gum graft, the doctor looked me up and down and asked me what I did for a living, out of the blue in the middle of inspecting my mouth, referencing my dyed hair and body modifications, and from my perspective it seemed like he was implying he didn't understand who would hire me with how I looked. When I explained my job, my consultation turned into a story time about the assistant's experiences with my industry. She was very kind, but it wasn't what I was there for, and the story was very unprofessional. When asking questions about the gum graft (what recovery time looked like, how much time I needed to take off of work, details about the process) I was asked "Why I knew so much about it" and asked whether I'd been googling it at home instead of actually answering my questions. It was defensive and I had nothing clarified. The doctor was trying to describe the mouth mold I'd have made, when I said "Oh, like a retainer" he just stopped and said "Why do you know that?" When I asked whether I would have restrictions on what I'm able to eat after, I was told that the doctor couldn't possibly tell me what I could and couldn't eat because he didn't know my diet and sent me out without an answer. It lead me to feel like I was being an unreasonable and demanding patient. After my consultation with another office out of town, where I had everything thoroughly laid out for me, I realized that I would have been DRASTICALLY unprepared for this procedure and the healing had I gone through with working with Dr. Kaindl, and learned that sedation options were typically offered with this kind of procedure. Sedation was never offered to me by Dr. Kaindl.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr Kaindl and staff. Dr Kaindl is highly professional, extremely competent and reassuring, and puts patients at ease in what is not thought of as a relaxing experience. His patience with patients like me is most appreciated. All doctors should aspire to this level, and again, his staff seem exceptional in their work and care of patients. I've had no problems with billing, insurance and prescriptions.

Any time you get dental work done is no fun. But the experience I had at this place exceeded all my expectations. Each time I was greeted with friendly smiles and greetings. I had the pleasure to have Dr. Kaindl and Madi. Dr Kaindl is one of a kind, not only is he professional and does phenomenal work, but he connects with you and makes it a more personal experience. He goes out of his way to accommodate your needs and makes you feel comfortable. I had extensive work done, and would go back to him 10/10 times. His assistant Madi also set the bar high with her professionalism and friendliness, helping educate and making sure all my needs were met. Even though I'm happy to be done, I'd come back to this place without a doubt if anything ever comes up again. Thank you everyone at Salem Peridonist!

When it was owned and managed by Dr Seifert this place was caring and efficient. It has gone downhill quickly. It's a revolving door of staff leaving from the billing, front desk and hygienists and now Dr Corning-has left. The hygienist inconsistency effects treatment. The current hygiene's will tell you how hard it is to work with people who have such terrible gum and teeth problems, well try living with this disease. Sorry I'm not more grateful for you doing a terrible job. I understand there health care worker shortage but this had to be beyond that it's been going on for a few years, the good reviews seem all to be from when Dr Seifert was here.

If I could give a negative review I would. The dental work was fine. Their business office practices should be criminal. They provided me with a cost "estimate" for an implant based on what my insurance would pay IF they were "In Network" without telling me they weren't in network, although they knew full well they weren't. I am now out of pocket over $1500 for an extraction that they told me would cost me $30! Expensive lesson learned on my part, but their business morals are definitely questionable!

Beware!! Their business practices are very questionable. I went in for an exam and estimate for a possible implant and left with no knowledge that there would be a cost for the consultation they provided. I just received a $457.00 bill in the mail (this was not included in their estimate)There are plenty of professionals who offer free consultations. I was planning on using them for this procedure, but due to these bad business practices, I will be looking elsewhere.

Always a problem and issue with this place when billing the insurance company. We have Aetna, which is a Medicare advantage plan. Most places just bill the insurance company. No biggie end of story. Not this place. We have to pay up front, then wait to get a receipt, and all the codes, and i.d.'s. Then we have to submit all this back into the insurance company to get reimbursed. Don't have to do all of this through anyone else. It's like we have to do all their work for them. Not satisfied at all.

When I arrived in Corvallis over 6 years ago, I saw a periodontist in that town. The second or third time I saw him, he said I had problems with both sides of the two upper molars. He recommended extracting one if not both of the ones on the right side. He devised a treatment plan for that side, involving sinus augmentation and extraction for $7,000. I decided to get a second opinion. I learned that Salem had a highly respected periodontist who was trained in Germany. There Dr Andres Kaindl saw me and suggested that he fix one of the teeth on the right for $700 rather than $7000 by doing a root amputation. The other teeth, he said, were OK. Dr Kaindl did the root amp over two years ago on the one molar. He didn't do anything to the other one. Both on the right are now just fine. The ones on the left are fine. I now see Dr Kaindl. He is an expert dentist as well as personable and gifted in his field. We are lucky to have him in the valley.
