Dr. Lana El-Shaar was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She went to Walsh Jesuit High School and later graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor Degree in Biology. She then continued her education at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where she earned her doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Dr. El-Shaar is enthusiastic about returning back to her hometown and is privileged to serve a community which has helped raise her into the individual she has become today. Dr. El-Shaar is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive dental care for all patients.

Dr. Barry and Dr. Mikki are very professional. They go above and beyond to make you feel great during the dental visit. The staff is very pleasant all the time. They greet you with a smile and when you leave the office, you feel awesome. This is the best dental practice in North East Ohio. I am very proud of being part of this great group of dentists. You guys rock !!!

This was my first visit, I had an excellent experience. The reception staff is friendly and competent. The office is clean and bright. The equipment including x-ray machine, chair, lighting and other dental equipment seemed very modern and current. My hygienist was very capable and did a thorough and excellent cleaning. Dr.Salem spent considerable time with me and did a complete explanation of my dental help while displaying my x-rays on the screen. This was an excellent experience, a big upgrade from my former dentist.

First visit was fantastic, Dr. Salem took time to explain clearly where my dental health was, and the steps we'll take to improve. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great info, great people. I believe my family will be very happy here!

Dr. Salem is the absolute best! I received care for an urgent matter, and I feel as good as new. The staff is so friendly and organized. They are thorough and helpful!

First visit here and I will never go anywhere else. They were clean, quick, efficient, caring and super friendly. I typically have severe anxiety when going to the dentist and I felt very comfortable here.

As much as I dread going to the dentist, I never mind to go see Dr. Salem. He takes the dread of dental work or maintenance away from it all, as well as the staff there too! I have been seeing him for almost 15 years and I would never go anywhere else. I cannot name one time I have had any issues with any type of dental work. I will recommend Dr. Salem for as long as the practice stands (hopefully after I'm in dentures).

I went to Summit Dentistry to have my teeth cleaned and evaluated. Rachael was my dental hygienist. She did a great job in calming me and assuring I was alright throughout the whole process. She took special care in treating me as a customer not just another person. Very respectful in all her interactions. She took great care in getting my previous dental x-rays off my Cell Phone and gathered new x-rays with a complete evaluation ready for Dr Salem's review, just exceptional and professional. Dr Salem, also was very calming and straight forward looked at everything and between the two came up with a care plan which they went over with me in such a way to make it agreeable and easy and neither person was concerned about getting my money or insurance, but just making sure that I the customer/patient was all right and comfortable. In addition, The facility and equipment was clean, modern, and orderly. The front desk people were all very pleasant too. I would highly recommend Summit Dentistry, Rachael and Dr Salem.

These people care!! I had a dental emergency arise on a Saturday morning. I Called all over the place and no one would help. I was prepared to have to deal with an aggrivated nerve and extreme pain for the rest of the weekend but I decided to make one more call to Dr Salem's office. I want you to understand that they took my call 40 minutes before they were scheduled to close and I was 25 minutes away. They could have easily said like everyone else that they would not be able to help and hurried home to enjoy their weekend...who would blame them. I felt compassion over the phone when they answered....what's worst than tooth pain? I got there not too long before they closed. I was greeted with smiles and not attitude as I was going to be keeping these people at work late. They stayed as long as they had to to get me fixed up. I can't say thank you enough! Dr. Salem will be my new dentist!

We've always had good experiences here. Went to another dentist for a while because it was close to home and now are returning. Havent had anything but positive experiences here. And the staff is always positive and good.

Great experience as a new patient. Everyone was very friendly and addressed all my concerns. Minimal wait time yet I feel like they spent as much time working with me as they needed to. Optimistic about my upcoming care.

I honestly can not say enough good stuff about Dr. Salem, and his staff. Everyone is so very kind and caring. They take their time explaining everything in great detail. Including reviewing procedures and issues with the state of the art technology/visualizations. Dr. Salem's hilarious sense of humor and compassion helped me "relax" and eased my nerves that routinely come along with dentist appointments for me. My teeth look and feel great! I love their attention to detail! Thank you all! -Patient for life.
