Sager Dental was started in 2016 when Dr. Sager decided he liked the city and the people here so much, he wanted to continue in 90 mile round-trip commute from Houston (he now lives much closer). Previously, we were located at the Tradewind Shopping Center by the old HEB. We moved to our current location on 6th Street in October of 2016 and are proud to be a part of historic downtown.
Our office is a standalone building located between Hey Mikey's Ice Cream (delicious, but be sure to brush after) and the DownTown Restaurant (try the 6th Street Connection sandwich!). We're also right next door to Wrice BBQ (try the rib sandwich!), so just follow that wonderful BBQ aroma.
Our goal is to serve and treat our patients the same way we would treat our own family. We provide conservative, quality, dental care for the whole family. Before you leave our office, we make sure you understand your treatment plan of what we are planning to do and why, any costs associated with care so there are no surprises, and answer any other questions you may have. We offer payment plans and are more than willing to work with you so that you get the care you need and deserve. We will never try to sell you any products, unnecessary treatment, or treat you as a customer rather than a patient. We want to address your concerns for your own teeth and offer plans that best fit your goals and needs.
Dr. Sager studied Biology at Baylor University prior to his dental education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After graduating, Dr. Sager moved to Houston with his wife and took what he thought would be a temporary job at small dental clinic in Texas City that primarily served children. Parents were so pleased with their children's dental care, they asked if Dr. Sager could see them too. After two years of working in Texas City, Dr. Sager enjoyed serving the patient population with conservative dental care so much, that he ended up buying the practice. In 2016, Sager Dental was officially opened. Dr. Sager is proud to be an active member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the 9th District Dental Society, and the Texas City - La Marque Chamber of Commerce.
Now that we have that out of the way, here's a bit more about me: I have two children and a wife who keep my life fun and interesting.I grew up in San Antonio (home of the breakfast taco) and am an avid Spurs fan. After living in Houston for five years, I've come to accept the Rockets as my secondary team. I enjoy college football, video games,and interesting facts. If you're not interested in any dental treatment but would like to hear why Tim Duncan is the greatest basketball player of all time, feel free to drop on by.
Our hygiene room. For parents who bring multiple kids in, this room allows us to keep both kids in the same area while mom or dad can sit on that bench and be there during the whole process (if they wish!)

Doctor Sager was a reliable dentist until he closed his practice unexpectedly without any effort to reach out to me to cancel my appointment. Even worse, he left no contact method for me to obtain the records for a new dentist to review. I have submitted a complaint to the TSBDE for abandonment of a patient and will update this review if this progresses further.

Loved Dr. Sagar then he closed so I had to change dentists that's when I found out he didn't fully do the work I thought he did he did a filling & missed the entire cavity I wouldn't have believed the new dentist but he showed me the xrays & sure enough he missed it & the deep cleaning he did was horrible so I feel he used up all my insurance & then sent me away so in the end I was extremely disappointed

My Daughter Has Been Dr Sagers Patient For About 5 Years or so ,and I would Not change Him . He is Extremely professional, patient ,and Very sweet. It's Awesome To Find Such A Great Doctor !

Dr. Sager was extremely helpful with my son. It was a new experience for him and Dr. Safer made it fun and quick. Clerk in the front was amazing! She put on a special video for my son while I filled out paper work. Good job!! I'll for sure be back.

Sager dental is awesome. they are the best priced around if you don't have insurance! (seriously, call and see.) i feel so lucky to have found them just a few streets away from me. Dr. Sager is very personable and funny with playful banter, he is very informative and explained a lot of things to me; and he is gentle. Dr. Sager does the exam himself with the hygienist assisting, i thought that was really cool because the doctor himself is examining every single tooth. his office staff was friendly on the phone, and in person, and the hygienist (i think her name was Veronica) was gentle during x-rays, quick and personable and nice as well. i will be bringing my husband AND my child. 5 stars. i'd give more if i could.

Dr. Sager was patient and worked using other methods to get the job done. Thank you for your care and look forward to our future visits.

Our family has been going here for years! I highly recommend! My youngest is autistic and they always made him comfortable and he never cried to come back! Matt Sager is the best!! Love the crew as well! Edward is always there when you need him!

Dr. Sager and his staff are just amazing. They are personable, respectful, professional, and willing to think outside the box with innovative approaches to dentistry. A refreshing experience. Conveniently located near a Hey Mike's Ice Cream shop, Dr. Sager and his staff make it easy to reward my children (and me!) for good dental hygiene practices. We are proud to call them our family's dentist.
