I wanted to become an orthodontist since I had braces when I was in middle school. I had horrible bucked teeth! My orthodontist was a wonderful person who not only gave me a beautiful smile and the confidence that comes with one, but took the time to chat with me, answer my questions, and make me feel comfortable. That is the kind of experience I want to pass along to each of my patients. I opened my own practice in March 2011 and look forward to a long and rewarding career here in Portage.
I grew up north of Kalamazoo in Middleville, MI with three younger brothers. I attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Biology. I attended dental school and my orthodontic residency at the University of Michigan where I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science degrees. My masters thesis for orthodontics evaluated the adult pre-surgical obstructive sleep apnea airway using Cone Beam Computed Tomography.
My husband, Dave and I live inScottswith our two children and two cats. In my spare time I like being outdoors, hiking, swimming, and relaxing (as much as I can with two little kiddos). I enjoy reading, cheering for the Wolverines, beating my brothers in Fantasy Football, and traveling.
I started at Sage Orthodontics doing part time advertising work. Since joining full time, I have added numerous responsibilities to my plate here including being your source for any financial or insurance questions you may have. My goal for each day is to come to work with a good attitude. At home, I love nerding it up with my PC and PS4, watching the Lions, and playing with my two cats.
I am an orthodontic assistant with more than 15 years of experience. I love working at Sage Orthodontics and find my role to be extremely rewarding. Its a great feeling to change lives each day by creating beautiful smiles. My favorite quote is, A smile is a curve that sets everything straight. I look forward to creating many more perfect smiles. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, friends, and coworkers.
Sage Orthodontics is my introduction into the orthodontic/dental world. I have ten years of customer service experience and love putting those skills to use serving our patients. Since joining the Sage team in September 2020, Ive learned so much about the amazing changes that come from orthodontic treatment and enjoy seeing the improvements in our patients smiles.
I started my career in general dentistry before I found my way to orthodontics. I enjoy working as an orthodontic assistant! Building relationships with patients and seeing their progress is gratifying. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time withmy friends and family; and going out on the lake with my boyfriend, Ethan, and our golden receiver, Max. Ethan and I really lovetravelling!
I graduated dental training in 2011. I worked for 9 years in general dentistry before I made my way to Sage Orthodontics. I have been with Sage Orthodontics since January 2019 as a clinical assistant. It has been very rewarding watching our patients fall in love with their smiles! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend and our two kids, Jozlin and Carson. As a family we enjoy camping and relaxing with our dog, Hazel.
I am an Expanded Functional Dental Assistant and have been a Pediatric orthodontic assistant for more than 25 years. I recently moved to the area and I am thrilled to be a part of the Sage Orthodontic team.
My passion is children and dogs. In my spare time, I enjoy camping, fishing and hanging out with my husband. I also transport dogs for German Short Hair Pointer Rescue, and have a part-time dog sitting business out of my home.
I came to Sage Orthodontics in November 2021 after spending a decade in restaurant hospitality and several years in marketing. I am excited to take my background and skills into this new role where I can be part of making a difference in peoples health and happiness. I am loving learning about ortho treatment, and building relationships with my coworkers and patients.
I just started at sage orthodontics in 2021 as an orthodontic assistant! I love the team here as well as building relationships with all of our patients here at Sage! Favorite part about my job is seeing how happy patients are at the end of their treatment and the results that we created! In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my boyfriend at home, traveling and doing anything outdoors such as camping, snowboarding, fishing and Hiking at all new places.

Dr Sage is an excellent communicator and the staff always made me and my children feel welcome. I sent three of my children to Sage Orthodontics and had consistently great experiences with all three of them.

The entire process from start to finish was smooth and enjoyable! My son was a little reluctant to have braces but it was much better than he expected and we are all so grateful for Dr. Sage and the amazing team at Sage Orthodontics. Since he completed his treatment I can't stop staring at his beautiful smile! "Mom, you are being creepy." (But I know he secretly likes it.) We are so happy and I look forward to starting my second son with them soon!

Everyone at Sage Orthodontics was very welcoming & kind. Dr. Sage & her staff took care to understand our concerns & explain recommended treatment. They even sent a Thank You card & Culver's ice cream voucher after our initial consultation! My daughter is so excited to get her braces on, she is counting the days!

We love Sage Orthodontics!! Wonderful staff that is professional with a friendly atmosphere. When we moved to Kalamazoo we were looking for an honest orthodontist and we couldn't be happier with this office. It's the absolute best!

Let me just start off by saying everyone at Sage orthodontics is very very nice. It feels like a family there and they are all very understanding, I had my braces for 2 1/2 years and my teeth turned out really good! I'd definitely recommend Sage orthodontics if anyone is looking to get braces. You will not be disappointed!

Dr. Sage and her staff are wonderful! From the consultations to getting braces off, it has been nothing short of amazing! Whenever we needed a bracket replaced, a question answered, or an appointment made, it was always done quickly. I really liked her approach of not doing things too early. Two of my kiddos were not ready for orthodontic treatments yet, so she said to hold off. The first place we went to was ready to start them before it was time. They are very honest, and their rates compared to others in the area, are better :)

The consultation went perfectly. Dr. Sage and staff answered all of my questions, even the ones that I needed to ask twice. I also enjoyed the tutorial videos explaining my daughter's options. The orthodontic treatment program plan was clear and understandable as well.

We've been working with Sage for about 4 years beginning with consultation. Everyone is so friendly and great including the front desk staff! Appointments and payments were easy, Dr Sage is knowledgeable and my daughter has a flawless smile now!
