I am fortunate to be able to interact with kids daily. I grew up having a positive experience with dentistry, and I hope my patients feel the same way. I strive to ease childrens fears by providing an all-around-fun, as well as, educational experience. As a mother myself, I treat my patients with the same gentle care I give my own child.
I began my education in 2007, completing my Bachelors degree with Honors in Molecular & Microbiology from the University of Central Florida. Afterward, I studied at Nova Southeastern University completing my Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2012. I solidified my decision to work with kids after I ventured to Colorado to attain advanced training through a general practice residency at Denver Health Medical Center. In 2015, I attained a Pediatric Dental Certificate at Nova Southeastern University, also earning a Master of Dental Sciences degree.
While there, I trained in behavioral management including advanced techniques, such as oral sedation and general anesthesia. The courses also included an immense amount of training with children with special needs. I am a graduate of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and use the laser frequently. Using dental lasers is consistent with my practice philosophy of minimally-invasive dentistry. Connecting the mouth to the body and overall health is of utmost importance to me. I also have formal training in Myofunctional Orthodontics and Frenectomies, the release of tethered oral tissues such as tongue ties. Providing patients with the safest care possible is my number one goal. For this reason, I also treat patients at Childrens Hospital Colorado.
In 2016, I achieved Board Certification through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. I am proud to be an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and the Metro Denver Dental Society. I currently serve as Secretary of the Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
A fun fact about me is that I was born in Suriname, South America. I now live in Parker with my husband and daughter. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and traveling. My favorite trip so far was a family vacation to Mykonos, Greece, where we rode around the island with ATVs! I look forward to seeing our smiling patients and meeting new families!
