Dr. Azouz is a native of Southern California. He graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science before completing the rigorous dental program at the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2000 and immediately began his residency in General Practice at UCLA/West Los Angeles VA Hospital. In this residency, Dr. Azouz gained invaluable training and experience in complicated dental situations and intricate extraction procedures, including the removal of wisdom teeth and dental implant treatment.
After his residency, Dr. Azouz received education and training in cosmetic dentistry, TMJ disorder, proper bite structure, or occlusion at the esteemed Las Vegas Institute. His extensive training also includes sedation dentistry, making him a wonderful resource for patients with any degree of dental anxiety. Following a lifelong interest in improving the bite and the smile with braces, Dr. Azouz trained at the United States Dental Institute, where he became proficient not only in traditional orthodontics but also in the use of Invisalign.
Dr. Azouz is a lifelong learner. He is an accredited biological dentist who has traveled the world to learn from the best. He spends roughly 1 week per month in training courses. Dr. Azouz recently married his love, Britt. Together they have 2 teenage sons, Zachary and Crew. Dr. Azouz lives in Newcastle and enjoys surfing, cycling, sand volleyball, and traveling.

Dr. Azouz and his team are awesome! My mother had been in search of a biological dentist and we're glad we came across Dr. Azouz! Dr. Azouz extracted my 24-year old infected root canal on #3 molar two weeks ago. I am very happy with how well my recovery has gone & really appreciated the way he & his entire staff made me feel comfortable through the lengthy extraction as well as all the important steps he takes to endure proper healing without infection. I would highly recommend Dr. Azouz for a biological extraction.

Dr Azous is a brilliant wizard. He's a true gem in the community. I wish more dentists like him existed everywhere. I came in after seeing 3 different dentists for a tooth that kept cracking and wasn't in good shape. Dr Azous was by far the best and most supportive. Not only is he very empathetic he strives for excellence in his work. I've never encountered that with any dentist. He listened to my concerns and went above and beyond to help me save my tooth. He really went the extra mile. I've never seen a dentist be so meticulous to getting it right. Every dentist I had seen was not able to get my bite on the first try or at all for that matter. Also, if you're concerned about pain and getting a shot don't be because I never feel anything when he administers the anesthesia and you're always comfortable during the procedure. The staff at the office go above and beyond to ensure you're comfortable. His dental assistant Rachel is absolutely amazing.... If I could give his business ten stars I would. I could go on and on about how amazing the energy of this place is. Don't hesitate, don't think about it, just go here.

Love Rachel The lead Assistant she's amazing, phenomenal x-rays on what is needed and very attentive to nervous patients such as myself. They truly take care of you and the Dr., will educate you on the procedure with a passion. I never knew of natural dentistry before, and I'll never go back to box mill dentistry again!

This office was so clean and organized. When I walked in I could tell it had been cleaned. In the waiting area it smelled nice and it was very organized. The doctors assistant Rachel was very helpful and kind. She helped me hear the doctor talking when I couldn't and she was very gentle.

Dr. Azouz is amazing - not only is he kind, patient, and gentle but cares about your overall health. I really appreciated my experience with him as I have a fear of dentistry. He was thorough, comprehensive, and efficient. I've never had a gum injection not be painful!! Unfortunately, on the other hand -- his staff was very rude, cold, and my procedure went from a 2hrs to 4.5hrs. Without warning. Dr. Azouz did apologize and acknowledge this but no one else in his office did. I did alert them I was running late a whole 2 hours prior to my appointment time, as I had a drive ahead to their office.. if I had anticipated staying that long - I would have at least stopped and ate breakfast.. The dental assistant who was assigned to me did not talk to me outside of standard procedure, unless I asked a question, and was crass when I mentioned at 2pm that I had not yet eaten. In the middle of waiting for my second crown to be finished (first one was too thin), numbed up as anything, he said oh you can eat; like it was a known fact even though I clearly stated at the beginning of our visit that I never had a crown placed before. On top of this, I had to email the front desk for my superbills, because this office is out of network, when they promised I would receive them "8:30AM it will be in your inbox". I have worked in many medical offices so I know how the days can go, but this experience even caught my partner off guard. Overall, I could have foreseen using Dr. Azouz for my main dentist, however, my experience with his staff has made me question if I should return. Especially living 100mi away.. His reviews are great, so I'm sad to say my experience was not.

Wow, so impressed by the care and services I received. To think that my prior dental care left so much work undone. I will never see a traditional dentist again. Dr. Azouz pulled two infected root canal teeth of mine. He did cavitations to clean out all the bacteria infested ligaments, tissue and bone. Then filled the holes with my very own stem cells! Amazing. His staff were all so nice and professional. I especially loved Rachel. Thank you all! I will most definitely be coming back.

I went to see Dr. Azouz to have a mercury filling removed and replaced with a composite filling because he is a biological dentist and I wanted extra care taken on this procedure. I regret this decision for several reasons. First, Dr. Azouz did not do a good job on my filling--I had high pain for two months after he removed it and had to call his office a month-ish after he worked on my tooth because I had so much pain when chewing on hard items. He did not see me on the follow-up appointment, and instead I saw one of his assistants, which I thought was tacky considering he was the one who had done the filling. Even now, I still have pain when I try to chew on hard things. I now need to ask my regular dentist to look at it when I see her this fall. Second, is cost. Dr. Azouz/his office doesn't accept insurance, which I accepted going into this. However, I did not expect him to be apathetic to the fact that I have dental insurance I pay monthly for, and then submit charges way over the accepted Delta Dental rates for the services he performed since I was hoping my insurance would reimburse me for some of the cost of getting a new filling while seeing a Non-Delta Dental dentist. Imagine a dentist submitting a charge for $175 and Delta Dental saying it will only allow $44 to be billed for that procedure!? Finally, and most importantly is the complete and utter lack of compassion and care that he and his office seem to have for their patients. This is also a money-related issue. I repeatedly asked his staff every time I spoke with one of them via phone and in person (at my initial consultation, over the phone regarding actual appointment scheduling, and again at my actual appointment) NOT to submit the claim for my initial new patient exam since I knew I wouldn't be reimbursed well--and it would have used up my second fully insurance-covered annual exam. They failed me, and someone in his office submitted the claim. I will now need to pay out of pocket (again) to see my personal dentist this fall because of their carelessness. I have contacted him/his office numerous times giving them the opportunity to right this (twice by phone message, and once by email) and have been ignored. Dr. Azouz isn't a dentist with whom I would entrust care of my teeth to ever again. And his office staff can't follow simple instructions. *My response to dentist's response: Hello. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me, but my experience is not what you described. After I reported the pain I was having in the tooth Azouz had re-filled, I went back to the office to have my tooth looked at and Azouz's assistant said your office could do a cone beam on the tooth to check to see if something was wrong. However, that offer was made at another $250.00 fee. I was appalled at the idea of needing to pay more money on top of the $725.00 I paid for the removal of my old mercury filling and new replacement filling. I shared my pain and discomfort, and I don't believe your office did its best to respond to it. To this day, I have level 9 pain when biting down on hard food. I do not feel comfortable or safe returning to the office, nor do I want to lose hundreds more dollars for potentially nothing. You are incorrect about your office's billing error having a simple fix. I immediately called my insurance and the rep said that they couldn't cancel the claim because Sacramento Natural Dentistry is an out-of-network provider-- regardless of me sending their check back to them or not. And now I still can't see my regular dentist to get my tooth fixed unless I pay for the entire visit out of pocket. Please share this with the staff.
