Our friendly dentist, Dr. Rydell, was born and raised in Rice Lake. He went to St. Olaf College and graduated with a double major in biology and psychology. Following graduation, he attended dental school at Marquette University in Milwaukee and graduated in 1987.
Dr. Rydell worked in Grantsburg and Webster before buying the Hayward practice from Dr. Bentley in the fall of 1994. He enjoys getting to know each patient he treats and is dedicated to working at the highest standard of excellence. Outside of the office, Dr. Rydell enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, skiing, dog training, riding his snow mobile and playing with his Labrador.

Mackenzie is one of our wonderful dental assistants, and she joined the practice in February 2021 after graduating from the WITC Dental Assistant Program in 2016. She loves the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of Rydell Family Dental and has a strong passion for dentistry and dental assisting. Mackenzie and her husband, Lester, have a daughter, Aiyana, and a son, River. When shes not at the office, she enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time with her family and being outdoors!
Amanda joined us in March 2020 and enjoys getting to know our patients personally and learning how she can best assist them throughout their treatment. In addition to her background in the field of dentistry, Amanda received a Bachelor of Science in accounting and international finance from Louisiana State University, as well as an associate degree in culinary arts from the University of Hawaii and Maui.
Around the office, Amanda performs a range of work, from maintaining our patient schedule all the way to implementing important COVID-19 protocols to keep our patients safe. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling, running, kayaking, knitting, quilting and reading.Amanda and her fianc are both proud parents of a French Bulldog.
In January 2019, Dori became our office co-manager! She performs her role at our practice with full attention to detail, helping sort out insurance policies and billing options for our patients. She also works closely with the VA to help take care of our local veterans. Dori enjoys the opportunity to be a part of our office and feels at home in the friendly atmosphere that our team and patients create together. At home, Dori and her children love outdoor activities in the Northwoods that they call home. Fall is their favorite season for apple picking and trips to the pumpkin patch!
Jamie is our kind and caring hygienist. Jamie graduated from Chippewa Valley Technical College with a degree in dental hygiene and has been practicing with Dr. Rydell for over 10 years. She enjoys people and making a healthy impact on their lives. Jamie is happily married to her husband, Bart, and they have three beautiful children.
Paula joined our practice in September 2020 as our dental hygienist after graduating from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, in 1996. She deeply enjoys being a part of the practice, where she can help each patient have a healthy mouth and, in turn, achieve better overall health. She currently works in the Northwoods area along with her husband, Chuck. They love to spend time on Long Lake fishing and boating with their family. They currently have two sons and six grandchildren.

I sure do appreciate the staff at Rydell's. They do a great job...HOWEVER the excessive number of texts that I receive either for appointment reminders and reminders for upcoming scheduled appointments and for reviews are getting to the point that I may opt out of this handy option. It works BUT DON'T OVERUSE IT!

I love them! The doctor fixed the work of my oral surgeon in Florida. I called because I thought I had dry socket and they got me in the next day. He literally saw me into his lunch break because I was suffering. He then agreed to have me come back at 4pm and removed all the pieces you see in the picture! He gave me a referral to go to another oral surgeon to double check there isn't anything deeper, and also my socket healed properly. Did I mention all of this happened yesterday?! Thank you Rydell Family Dental!!! They really care about their patients and I will always go back. 100/10 recommend!

February 10 2021 , I just had an excellent experience at Rydell Family Dental in Hayward WI Dr Rydell said hello and asked about my general health in this time if the Covid virus , even though no checkup by him was scheduled. Jamie did her usual expert job of cleaning my teeth .She is skilled and always pleasant . She noticed a chipped and a worn tooth that should be watched and took photos for future reference. We discussed my tooth care routine at home . I am 71 so in a position to judge the quality of my dental care . As they say in the Army " That is all " New post. March 25 2022 Saw Jamie and Dr Rydell yesterday Usual expert cleaning job by Jamie who is always pleasant and professional . Dr Rydell is planning a crown for a broken canine tooth We discussed implant options They were all kind to fit me info their busy schedule at short notice Kris Matlack DVM Lake Nebagamon WI
