A little about me; I graduated with B.S. in Physiology and Neurobiology from theUniversity of Maryland. I first went into the medical research field after my mom, late JoAnn Tigrett, fought a 12-year-long battle with cancer. I guess she was my first inspiration in the healthcare field.

After a short time in medical research, I decided to go in dental school. My search for the best dental education led me across the country to San Francisco to attend the highly regarded University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. With some of the best faculty, lifelong colleagues and advanced education programs they continue to enrich my professional life.

Following graduation, I wanted to expand my knowledge in emergency care through a hospital-based residency program. I selected a level-1 trauma center in Denver, Colorado; where I was able to provide dental care for patients with traumatic injuries, complex medical needs and dental emergencies. As a bonus, it was another great city. I enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and snowboarding, in the Rocky Mountains.

During residency, I discovered my passion for the compassionate treatment of emergency patients. The hospital also allowed me to develop skills repairing teeth with extra precision, through a microscope. This drove me to further my education through my endodontic residency atNova Southeastern Universityin sunny South Florida. Another bonus, this is where I met my lovely wife, Wendy Barba (meet Wendy below).

While working to become an endodontist, I led research projects on several dental products currently being used in the dental field. Compiling a portfolio of successful treatments and passing rigorous written and oral exams; I am proud to be Board Certified, earning the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. I am an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, the California Dental Association, the Napa-Solano Dental Society, Spear Study Club.

Fun Facts About Me: When outside the office I love to spend time with my family, even more now with our first son, Matteo. I also love to read, snowboard, travel, go wine tasting and spend time with family and friends. Love to practice my Spanish and Italian for when I visit my wifes family and my moms family in Italy. Born and raised in the small town of Hagerstown, Maryland. Proud brother to Mikael Tigrett, who also moved to Napa Valley exactly a year before we made the move to wine country. Its been great building memories in Napa Valleys heartwarming community.

I graduated fromFlorida International Universityin 2002 with a BA in International Business and Management Information System. Right after graduation, I started my career first at General Electric as the Latin America Area Sales Manager and later Coca-Cola developing business in Latin markets.

My strengths have been in strategic planning, marketing and management techniques. This is where my MBA in International Business fromNova Southeastern University and certification ofCommercial Management in GE Crottonville has paid off. Our team knows I am always implementing something; an innovative technique or process to help the workflow of our practice with the purpose to improve patient care.

For as long as I can remember I've dreamt of starting my own business. Never in a million years I thought that business would be helping my husband, Dr. Ryan Tigrett in building our Endodontic practice. I must admit I love ENDO. Every day is different and we are always learning something new as dentistry is always evolving. I am very fortunate to be working side by side with my partner.

I am a very enthusiastic, dedicated, and energetic business professional. I am mindful that some of our patients come in to see us because they are in lot of pain. They say a smile can warm a room and laughter is the best medicine. Youll know me by my laugh that fills the room. I also love to get to know our patients and their stories. I had no idea how personal it can be working in a dental practice until I got here.

My Passions:My family. In 2020 during the whole craziness of a pandemic year we had our first son, aka our rainbow baby. After many years of trying thanks to IVF we were able to have our family so 2020 has a different meaning to me thanks to our Matteo. I also love to help businesses grow. Inspiring Latinas and Moms, I have my own digital media company for when I am not working I am blogging or podcasting. Working out is a must for me. And of course, building more memories with my family and friends because life is too short to live the same day twice.

Endodontists are dentists who specialized in maintaining natural teeth through procedures called endodontic therapy, or root canal therapy, that involve the soft inner tissue of the teeth. In addition to 4 years of dental school, endodontists go through two or more years of advanced residency training, studying root canal techniques and procedures in greater depth offering you the best possible care in endodontic treatments. All dentists are trained in endodontic therapy while in dental school, however some teeth can be very difficult to treat and diagnose. The advanced training endodontists receive makes them especially adept at diagnosing tooth pain and treating the most difficult cases. Their offices are often equipped with the most advanced technology specialized for endodontic treatment.

In addition to digital radiography,we utilize special operating microscopes. Magnification and illumination are helpful in aiding the doctor to see tiny details inside your tooth. Also, camera on the microscope can record images of your tooth to further document the doctors findings.

Cone Beam CT technology allows complete 3D visualization of the teeth and bone withultra low radiation exposure. A typical limited field view is about the same exposure as 3 small digital dental x-rays. While not used in every case; when it is needed it can provide unmatched diagnostic information. This allows us to make the most accurate treatment planning decisions before we ever start working on your tooth.

You should not chew or bite on the treated tooth until you have had it restored by your dentist. The unrestored tooth is susceptible to fracture, so you should see your dentist for a full restoration as soon as possible. Otherwise, you need only practice good oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and regular checkups and cleanings. Properly cared for, most endodontically treated teeth last as long as other natural teeth.

Once endodontic therapy is completed your tooth should be examined periodically, usually every 6 - 12 months. This allows us to make sure the tooth has healed or is healing properly. You will be sent a notice in the mail when we feel it is appropriate to reevaluate the area. Since an abscess may take 2 years to heal, our office will reevaluate the tooth for at least 2 years.

Friendly staff greeted me. Asked what music I liked. It was my first root canal. Took awhile, but after novacaine wore off, I was pain free. Dr. And everyone made me feel comfortable.
